For outstanding tools the new Nailer nailed it. The re-tractable eye lids window shades gives a wink from time to time. Nice feature to shake up some passers-by.
That floor is just gorgeous...man if those counter tops could look like that ,,wow. So ,glad that By HIS stripes you ALL ARE HEALED.
You just wait 😉 us too!
You take your victories, big or small when you get them. Small steps eventually complete a 1000-mile journey. 🥳
Absolutely!🤍
What can anyone say? Another project successfully completed, tick the box! Great looking window trims too, good job. And Princess will be making her memories too, water, sand, Mum and Dad. We don't know what she is storing away in her 'hard-drive', but river trips like that will surely be there somewhere, to be re-called and re-played sometime in the future. What a good life!
The best thing about doing the work yourselves is that you can do however it suits your taste. Great work. The build is pumping along.🔥🔥🔥🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
The table saw ... It eats my lunch 😂😂. Window trim looks great. Wishing you all a continued recovery 🙏
Thank you!
Jim’s cat🤣🤣🤣don’t feel bad I have two that I didn’t know was mine, that floor turned out beautiful great job.
😂😂 thank you!
What a great way to frame a window--just a thin bead of caulk and you are done !!! NICE !!!
Thank you!
Great job framing the window. The routed edge is a nice touch. Looks rock solid and should last a long time. Your ingenuity and creativity shines in your home. Something that will be cherished for generations.
It must be great to be able to shut out the sun & heat with those new blinds! The first summer we'd moved into our new place was the hottest on record to that point; the first thing we did, before even unpacking, was that I made curtains for every room!
happy you all feeling better
Thanks!
This channel is addictive in a good way
Yay! Looking great. I love the way you trimmed out that window, so clean looking. Glad y'all are feeling better!
Thank you!!
glad y'all are feeling better... window looks great 💖
Thanks so much!
Being from Louisiana myself, I enjoy seeing your hometown videos! It's all about the small victories. Kudos to both of you on the great work and team you make together! I did enjoy the photobomb of "Jim's cat!" LOL
The ceiling fan room would look great smooth finish. Just mix some topping compound with a coffee cup full of water and mix them together slowly you don't want it too runny. Then make a 12inch wide pass on each side of the tape with a 12inch spaclin trowel. Be sure to sight down the blade to find the bow in the blade you don't want a rocking horse rocking on your sheet rock/drywall so turn the trowel over and write up on the side facing out. Go over it 2 times make sure you don't have a lot of build up, you don't want to spend weeks sanding. So thin coats and let it dry over night. If you have little spots missed go over those spots. Once dry make a primer coat. Take some cheap flat white paint never use gloss on the ceiling because it shows every blemish. After 4 coats of paint the ceiling could be painted with gloss but as a rule for myself save gloss for furniture. Now take some paint say half a gallon and 3 gallons of topping compound or make a smaller mixture of latex paint compound and if necessary thin with water while mixing. You want it a little thicker than paint and the paint in the mudd will ensure one coat coverage. Use a roller to apply.
You guys and gals did an Amazingly Professional Job. I just love the can-do spirit. Thank you for sharing. RB.
Quickly becoming my favorite channel. Love your honesty when showing your mistakes. Getting some good artistic shots .
Pretty cool...one accomplishment...one at a time will be a soon done goal😊
I know how it goes with the table saw. It eats me alive too. My Dad was a carpenter and he said that i need something to support my materail so i can concentrate on feeding it and keeping the materail straight. Looks like you did a quality cajun country job.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better. I’m impressed I like those blinds. Thanks for sharing.
Yes the other day it was very warm...but you guys had the right idea...🐟🌊🐟.......it might be something small, but one step at a time. Just remember...you are building a home...have a great weekend and its great to see Lyida is back, still take it easy, and drink a boat load of water..
A white tshirt for the girls is a great way to reduce sunburns.
It is looking very nice, worth all the effort.
Great job. and am glad you are kind of getting back to feeling normal. I miss tubing on the Sabine River. Stay safe and cool y'all. 👍👍
Window looks nice...the reveal around the casing and frame helps out for caulking, it gives you a good place to run a bead of caulk. One other thing yall might consider is centering the frame in the window, where there is the same amount of reveal left on the top and the two sides...
The water looks mighty inviting and probably growing by the feet...all the swamps and creeks around here are overflowing....lots and lots of water and wind for the last few days...
Knee High knows how to have a fun time no matter where she is or what she's doing... y'all take care....
Work a while play a while, glad you are feeling better. The window looks fine.
Thank you
Slick, nice job and I’m glad you are on the road to recovery. Be well my friends 😊
Keep feeling better y'all!
Bravo les cousins cajuns pour cet encadrement de fenêtre cela fait une jolie finition. 👍👏😘🇫🇷
Great video, and your daughter looks so cute.
Glad you are all feeling better. Small bites of the elephant.
Window trim looks Awesome.☘
20:38 perfect 😊❤
Happy Wednesday Cajun Family!!
Great to know y'all are feeling better, well somewhat better 👍. You ain't kidding when talking about the heat🥵♨️ here in Louisiana!! The rain did help a little yesterday.
The walls look great Lydia!!
Nice job on window!!
Mutual love with kitten I bet 😀.
Curious what bayou was that y'all were on ? Is that a branch of the Sabine river? Water looked clear.
Well I'll catch y'all again soon Cajun Family 👨👩👧🌟's 💖!! 😁👍👍
👍Wow, that window came out great! Really enjoyed seeing Jim’s cat, ha ha. Keep ‘‘em coming gang! Jim in Lafayette, La⚜
Love the windows and blinds - great job guys !!! Have a great week - love ya more !!!
Glad you guys are feeling better. Everything is coming together so nicely!!! Great video as usual!
That looks really good.
Thank you!
Looks good y'all and love the motorized blind. Glad to see you are feeling better ❤
I'm happy to hear that you are all on the mend, it's awful to feel ill in the summer heat. Hope you're all 100% soon 🥰🥰🥰
Good job on the production of the window casing. Just make sure to put some caulk on the leading edge of the casing before insertion. CAULK AND SPACKLE ARE YOUR LIFESAVERS FOR OUR MISTAKES!
Wow you guys, y'all are doing great and the window trim looks brilliant, well done, its a pat on the back moment.
For true cuts on your table saw you need to upgrade your rip fence. When I upgraded my 1951 sears table saw I added a router table to the side of the table saw to give me more control for cutting larger panels. I bought my rip fence at Home Depot. That was at least a decade ago. Now days with the internet it will be easy to find a rip fence upgrade kit for you table saw. If you’ve that good of a cabinet maker with your new rip fence upgrade you’ll be a amazing one. With your new shop build you can have a first class wood shop in no time. You three have given me many hour of enjoyment, thank you so much!
Your new cross cut fence will be part of your upgrade. I hope you make the choice.
Great video y'all. Love your long horn steer. good job on that window. Y'all have a great week. 👍👍❤.
very nice job on the window frame i really have problems doing them i learned alot from watching you guys you made it look super easy and by the way your daughter is so darn cute just like her momma any way and again another great vid thanks for all you do and keep up the great work
Thank you Gary! This is what made sense to us, so we are glad it makes sense to you as well!
Great work on that window sill and to top it off a hands free window blind what more can you ask for.
Take Care and Stay Safe,
Barry (UK)
Glad you are feeling better...I live in the north east....major outbreak of COVID here....lots of people really sick
Stay healthy!
Excellent job proud of you all, see you can do anything you want to, nice job
That window looks beautiful! I wish I could borrow y'all to come fix my house up! LOL
Great work you did with the window trim! Congrats!
Pray everyone is doing ok, missed seeing a video on Sunday, but if you are having temps like us I can understand staying indoors and doing as little as possible. My day starts about 6:30 and ends by 10. Stay safe & cool and will be looking forward to next video.
Glad you are feeling better! Getting something accomplished, big or small, helps too! The window and blind looks good and I am sure will help with keeping the suns heat out.
Yes! Thank you!
Jim, I'm lousy with a Table saw also. Look for some UA-cam U vids on setting one up. Helped me get better but I don't use one enough to stay sharp at it.
I really need to watch some of those videos. I’m like you, I don’t use it often enough to get better at it. Probably because it don’t like to use it😂
Wow,you guys have your own private beach. The little one has grown a lot. ❤
❤️❤️❤️
Nice! I've been living with my bedroom window not finished for over yr. Tired of looking at it to. On his butt to finish it, lol 😄👍🇨🇦
Tell him it’s not too hard!!
@@CajunCountryLivin believe me I have for months. It's just getting him in the groove. 😊
Glad y’all are bouncing back. The trim looks great. The blinds closing at the end was awesome.
Having the guide fence not stay square is not uncommon. I take a speed square and make sure it is square to the table then lock it down with a clamp. A rag with a little Crisco on it makes the table and fence slide smoother after the rag is applied to it. A good push block is a great idea to have to save your fingers.
Beautiful work looks amazing. Sending much love from Australia xxx
Amazing!! I discovered your channel a few weeks ago with the dry pour and it got me hooked. Such great wholesome content u guys create. Your skillsets are great, but i think the real gift u are giving to the world is sharing your world with us. Thank u. 😊😊
Thank you so much!
Nice work and loved the way you are doing your window
Purdy fancy
😁
Man, that really came out pretty!! I love Hart Tools. I have the impact drill, and I love it!! I don't have a table saw. I try ripping boards with a skill saw that is not fun! You start off with the right size, and on the other side, it's either too big r to small! I would love for Hart tools to sponsor us!! But I am glad yall r feeling better!! As always, yall r doing a awesome job UA-cam family!
You done amazing job on window glad to see you are all feeling better 👍
Thanks so much!
Trim usually has a 1/4 inch reveal from the extension jam to the casing. This will give it a more detailed look.
Oh I just got to the part where you explain you didn’t want to do it. Well it’s your home do it how you like it.
If I could offer a tip for the table saw, just from my view you aren't keeping enough pressure against the fence and the table. If you get your left hand in a position of support to do that (or a featherboard if you prefer) that will give you much better results. Also, blade quality is a huge piece, the Skil will do better with a little upgrade to the blade, but like I said I think hand position/material support is the first variable to address.
Love your channel 🙂
Try a partial Natural Wood Wall, like a head board wall for this bedroom. I think it wood look terrific just opposite the sun window.
Nice window looks great!
Beautiful floors!
Looks great. Nice job. Thanks for sharing
Glad yall are feelin better . they are your windows , fix like you want .
Window looks great that's quite the blind. Glad you are feeling better just don't push yourself to hard in the heat. Have a great day.😊
Living in the rural area is so nice. Especially grow up and teaching kids ❤ Has kitty cat-ured any mice?😅 nice saw stand, is there a video on this or where do we buy it?😂😊 The window looks good, we totally do them differently down here 😅 Is the river drier than normal this time of year? Anyone else yell croc! When captain croc entered the river?😅 great video, until the next one ❤
Continued good health for the family. Glad to see y’all up n about! ☺️
As long as you're moving forward. Each step is taking you towards the goal.
Sometimes the steps are small. Sometimes they are big. They are still steps.
I wish I had electric blinds. Unfortunately I live in an apartment. They decide the window treatments except for drapes.
I think the window as a whole turned out great.
So when are you going to do the rest.😃 (kidding)
Now that swimming hole looked right up my alley. As long as there's no gators😃
Ladly looked like she was having a great time.( Memories in the making)
Stay cool(as you can), Stay safe.
Love you guys
The room looks so beautiful when you added the trim on ❤
Your window looks beautiful and I love the blind, great progress guys, proud of you, still praying for a speedy recovery.
Thank you so much!

looks good. I like simple trim and it turned out nice. I totally understand the table saw jitters. I have a similar saw and often wish I had one of those nice commercial table saws. Of course they are in the thousands of dollars. I think you're making it work and that's all that matters. Heck, there are times I pull out my hand saw for a quick cut just for old times sake. Keep getting healthy! Keep hydrated!
😊😊
Looks amazing
Glad you guys are feeling better and now onto bigger and better things. Love the floor in the bedroom and the window trim looks awesome. Great work👍
enjoy watching the video great job
Jim would you take in your time on measuring that table saw that's what you call pro work brother So evidently you were doing pro work again keep up to go work man I think you've done a really good job man I like that I like the house the whole nine yards You're doing a good job Y'all boats keep up the good work
Thank you Joe!
@@CajunCountryLivin ❤
Looks great
Hello from beautiful Lake Charles. We just finished a remodel and are doing the finishing touches where did you get the motorized mini blinds. Glad you all are feeling better. Keep up the good work.
Ladly is getting so big and so stinking cute! Hope you are feeling better soon, being sick in the Summer is a huge bummer! That window trim idea was awesome! I had never seen it done like that before! Usually it’s assembled in the frame! You both do awesome work! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
Are the blinds battery powered? I am not sure that I am a fan but I would be willing to give them a shot. Let us know how they work out,... as time goes by.
A FINISHED WINDOW!!!!! Congratulations!! Ya'll never cease to amaze me. You made a complicated task look easy. Glad to see everyone is feeling better. I have said many times that Lydia reminds me so much of my wife Marie, hard working, beautiful and willing to take on any job. Now Jim, you are becoming me. Non cat person who finds themselves getting attached to a cat even if we don't really want to. 😁
Y'all did a great job on the window panes in my opinion, but I am not a carpenter. But those electronic window shades just blew my mind! Wow!
One step at a time, I absolutely love those concrete floors so shiny. I think that window looks great. Happy to hear you guys are feeling better
yall are getting fancy with the motorised shades. yall will be like the jetsons before long.........g
Nice job and thank you for the info on the tools…..I have a brad nailer that is dependent on the air compressor and will seriously consider Hart . Have y’all had the week of rain over in South Louisiana ? Over near Athens,Ga it rained so far all week long…..God knows what we need ❤😊❤
It was absolutely worth the money! We have had some rain here, but not like y’all. Sending sunshine your way!
@@CajunCountryLivin thank you ….blessings and love to y’all ❤️💕❤️
the other day was cutting some 2x4 & didn't have speed square, thought of you 2 & made SPEED SQUARE HOOTIS with cardboard w/90°edge & it worked so i didn't cut crooked line with skilsaw. just an idea
Photo bombed by 'Jim's cat'. 😹
😂😂
Can I make a suggestion, when painting the ceiling don’t use ceiling paint use regular wall paint. If you want white use sherwin Williams single coat paint ultra white. I’m old and hate to paint and there best paint is worth the money.
Great small project to back in the swing of things. Until you're 100%, doing smaller projects is the ticket, don't over do.
Glad you guys are feeling better. Keep up the great work. Learning a lot from watching your videos and get yourself back One hundred percent everything looks great and as far as i'm concerned these guys are doing a terrific job
Too sweet
Tremendo trabajo megusta muy bonito
That trim looks great! Hey, are there catfish in that river you were swimming in? Looks like a great size to fish in.
