Hey Paul, double check what spec you need for the copper washers. Usually with banjo bolts you have copper seals that have an inner rubber ring. That might be what the black stuff was on the original. Google “Dowty seal”. These are for fuel, oil etc. Also if you over tighten copper washers they can leak air in/fuel out..
Yes you need copper crush washers either side of the banjo. The washers with the rubber seal ring are for hydraulic oil but they are not the best fuel because they perish. P.s the copper crush washers NEED to be a snug fit on the bolt. Copper Crush washers ideally need replacing every time you undo that bolt. So get yourself some spares. Yes you can reuse them if your desperate but for what they cost (a few pence each) it's worth replacing them instead of having a breakdown.
Watching this vlog I see two reasons why I'm happy to travel at the moment in South Africa: 1. It is considerable cheaper here. 2. How can you stay alive in England with that miserable weather?
Check the info about that bajo bolt and union, I have a similar fitting on my motor and it has a copper washer at each side of the fitting. No idea if your truck will be the same but for the cost of them might be worth checking if yours should have two.
Paul, Don't ever apologise your opinions mate, Say it as it is. If you ever want to head down to North Devon ill give you a heads up to park ups, local councils and authorities don't want anyone to have freedom or fun anymore because they can't generate a revenue stream from it The best filter remover is a large flat head fuck off screwdriver. Stab the filter and turn it to remove
There's a possibility that you have an object (flake of rust) in the fuel tank that's getting sucked upto the fuel pick-up pipe causing a temporary blockage, Brake cleaner is better than Easy Start, but I wouldn't use a lot of it.
Dont use alot of ES , it Will cause u more Problems. Yhought about fitting an Extra Cpl of Clear in Line Filters, can Srr whst getting Pulled Through Didny u give Dave Crouch a ring see if he had a Tank ?
Who has put that rubber hose on as fuel pipe ? by the look of how those hose clips have dug into the hose it looks like heater hose and that bit of shit on that washer looks like dissolved rubber, its prob not shit in your tank but the hoses breaking down
Unfortunately I don't have tools or the time I also still need to pay for custom fittings made to join new tank and fuel pipes where my garage can do all that. They look after me anyway its never expensive :)
it is a non living thing, it can't get addicted... else i get my engine hooked on morphine. If you need easy start every start, you have a wear and tear issue that needs sorting.
Just watched on Ben Fogle’s New Life’s in the wild and found it very interesting. So glad I found your channel.
