  • Depression is an invisible enemy, a silent killer that sneaks up on the best of us. I've witnessed it firsthand through the darkest experiences in my life-losing my grandpa, my dad, and even a close coworker. When you’re deep in that spiral of hopelessness, every day becomes an endless cycle of self-doubt, pain, and fear. And it doesn’t matter who you are; whether you identify yourself through your job, your achievements, or your relationships, depression can consume you.
For years, I masked my emptiness with distractions: work, material things, alcohol, and even video games. But none of that filled the void. I went from glass of wine weekends to quiet moments of isolation, where I felt completely disconnected from everything and everyone around me. It wasn't until I realized that change wouldn’t come from a new job, a new purchase, or a new thrill, that I began to confront the deep-rooted issues head-on.
Hope is not a magical fix-it takes time to rebuild, piece by piece. If you feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, remember that reaching out is the first step. Talking to someone, seeking support, and celebrating the small wins can make a difference. I quit caffeine and alcohol, started running, meditating, and practicing gratitude. I learned to forgive myself and embrace life’s small victories.
I hope sharing my journey can help anyone going through similar struggles. Remember, if you’re feeling lost, you are not alone. In the U.S., call 988 for help. There’s always hope, and there’s always a way out. Let’s keep fighting together.

Hi, I’m a former Marine, father, and husband who works in the tech industry, focusing on AI application development. I have an MIT background, but after years of pushing myself to get ahead, I hit burnout. That’s when I decided to take a step back and focus on my health and my family. Now, I’m also a marathon runner and love spending time outdoors with my family. I started this UA-cam channel to share my journey and help others who might be feeling the same burnout I experienced. We’re in this together!

all the time friend. knowing deep down that everything does matter can help, but bringing it to the forefront seems to be quite difficult. we all have strange decisions to make within each of our own little worlds. godspeed

If possible, try to be self employeed, even if the pay is 50%.
Then, you can down shift easier if your depression comes back or life becomes overwhelming.

What do you enjoy doing on free time? I’m 39 with a family but I can totally understand that feeling I was single for a very long time before I found my wife I learned so much about myself when alone and living alone that I do believe it helped me learn what was most important to me instead of listening to others. I play video games at night on pc and ps5 what do you enjoy doing on free time?

Think about where you went wrong in life. Don’t compare yourself to others. Take CBD hemp (full spectrum) and you will get your life back on track because GOD has a purpose for you and everyone! ✌🏻
