  • ECO Game version 10 (v10) increased the crafting dependencies on other players and has the same ability to set high and low collaboration settings on a server...but what's the bottom line to a player? How does collaboration settings affect the availability of your ECO mats for crafting? What does collaboration do to your economy? Beyond being able to craft more things in ECO, does collaboration matter? I explain what collaboration means, and a very unobvious effect it can have on your gameplay. The ECO game has changed a lot in version 10 (Eco v10), so there will be a lot of coverage to come. Also participate in this months ECO GiveAway (give away).
GiveAway Rules: A random drawing will happen for any comment provided on this video and other ECO videos produced during the duration of the giveaway where the key phrase is used in the comments. Winners will be announced in a future video which may or many not be related to the game. After announcement, there is a one month waiting period for the winner to claim their prize. After this one month waiting period, the prize will be withdrawn, and the game key will go back into the hopper for another offering. To claim a prize, the winner must send me an email to my business email address found on my channel's home page. After that, the game key will be provided to the winner via response to the email.

I'm not really surprised. I've been on a couple of private servers with Low Collab and have seen the same things you brought up. People not performing their basic functions or selling basic items, grabbing more and more skills and having none of them adequately covered. My last server, my group of "try hards" decided we were just going to chill and stockpile stars to let everyone else go slow. We did this because last time we played people quit because it went "too fast" and they felt left behind. So we went slow, technology never really broke into T2, and everyone quit after about 2 weeks.
Can't wait for new season of Dadspeed to come out since I haven't played in a couple of years.

I’d imagine for most servers, having many skills often means less motivation to gather RAW resources, so the entire chain gets starved that way

I’m someone who just found this game today and am planning to join the moment your version 10 servers come up. I love to mine in video games! Have you guys come across needing miners in your servers? Or would a different profession be better to start with?

Miners are always a solid skill in the game. They take the base rocks and ores and crush them into a products used for many things. I love mining too and getting to exercise my dwarven tendencies. The excavation also make a natural place to set up and build workshops. Probably the biggest negative to the skill is that because it is a popular (on any server), there will be competition to sell your resources, but on long running servers like DadSpeed, patience wins out, so if you just play, enjoy, do your thing, and be patient, the opportunities will emerge.

There is a simpler explanation. The most competent, hard working people, get what they need and stop providing to others. It's the equivalent of the rich IT guy who retires early.

Hi there a long time ago I did a server that was low collaboration. I'm not quite sure if that's the right setting for me I'm looking for the right settings to run that would allow me to I guess in a sense within a month or maybe a bit more be able to max out all my skills and be extremely independent. This would be quite a few hours a day for example of playing maybe weekends off or something like that but I'm wondering if low collaboration would be the key there?
It sounds like the default no collaboration settings might be a little too much and it might be able to max everything out even in a few days or a week or two where I would like a little bit more effort put into the cause.
If you have any recommendations that would be good It's really hard to find any information on the internet really explaining you know roughly maybe how many hours each of the different collaborations might take to max out your skills or what to expect.
My understanding is a plateau so basically they hit a max EXP amount and then after that it's always the same amount for each new skill.

@StoneLegion In addition to the collaboration setting and how much time you'd be playing, when it comes to "skilling up and earning stars", there another factor that can change that speed by 2x, 3x, or even much more. That is your housing bonus, and food bonus. A good house (having a room of each type [bedroom, kitchen, bathroom. living room], filled with appropriate furnishing, and built with higher quality material [Ashlar Stone is much better than Mortared Stone] with do a lot to increase how fast ou earn stars/skills. Perhaps even more influential, is food, the higher tier food you eat the better, the more balanced nutrition is [carbs, protein, fat, vitamins] the better, satisfying your craving improves point generation, etc. Those 2 things can make you go from a 10 points an hour [random number] to maybe as much as 70-80 points an hour. So the collaboration setting is part of it, but these other 2 factors really make a difference - so it's hard to say what the magic collaboration setting is for what you want. I will recommend my video on Food and Skill Points as it's a very complete guide to understanding that system. ua-cam.com/video/uIoElKHEHWw/v-deo.html
