Years ago I was driving my Firebird down a main street when a mustang pulled up next to me at a light. We Looked at each other in appreciation of our cars and smiled. The light turned green and we took off. As I was shifting into 3rd, I glanced over and right when I noticed the cobra and got disappointed, as my car was only a 6 cylinder, he mashed the gas and blew way ahead of me. I had aftermarket upgrades, but I knew it was no match for a cobra. So later I race my friend who had an automatic v6 mustang, to help myself feel better.
Drove 4 hrs with my buddy to pick up his 2020 gt500. Tuned e85 and a few other things done to it. Making right at 827 hp. He let me drive a couple hrs back. I said ok bud, I wanna open it up. He said sure thing. Downshifted to 3rd, rpm’s shot to 3500, I said go time. Looked down, doing 64, by the time I was ready for 5th gear (I grannyed 4th 😫😫) I looked down again and it said 130. It scared the shit outta me. I backed it down. I know there’s faster, I know that car gets shit on by a lot of other cars, but when I tell you IVE never experienced anything like that.. my god. Unbelievable performance in that thing. It LITERALLY screams at you to GIVE IT MORE. I was maybe 1/2 throttle. Might have been a tad over half. There’s no chance in hell I would ever see what that thing has. It’s unreal.
What I really like about these Fords is that the dash shows the speed with high refresh rate. Every time I see one of the Dodge hellcat things there's like a 1-second delay.
