Wilmington Delaware is probably the best place to live in the US... in my opinion. It is such a central location and near 4 major US cities (Baltimore, DC, NYC). It's easy to get up and decide to take a trip to any of those places. In addition, Wilmington is a city but it really is pretty much the sister city of Philadelphia. Matter of fact, both Philadelphia and Wilmington include each place in the metro population count. 30 to 35minutes and you are in Philly. That is the same or less than the commute time for many people in most major cities. You have access to so many different airports in nearby states when traveling. Delaware is the 2nd smallest state but was the 9th richest state in the union in 2020: it's economy was ranked 21 out of all of the states which is impressive considering it's size. I missed and appreciate Delaware much more after spending almost all of my adult life (so far) in Atlanta. That Joe BIden pick is hilarious. He needs to get that done ASAP. They won't call him sleepy Joe anymore.
Actress Valerie Bertinelli grew up outside Wilmington in a nice section of Claymont facing the DE River. And just across the DE Memorial Bridge Pennsville, NJ where actor Bruce Willis grew up is the first town you come to once you cross the river.
Denzil Washington and Wesley Snipes visited here to see Butch Lewis before he passed. He has a had a home in Rehoboth Beach. Saw pics of Denzil sitting in a bar there. Wesley was in a club near Riverfront. He was dancing having normal fun, wearing sweatshirt n'sneaks.

I’m in Delaware. Top of DE is just city and suburbs on the main land. The rest of DE is on Delmarva peninsula which has clean beaches with boardwalks and each beach town has its feel and it’s own set of stuff to do. A lot of agriculture here. And it’s very safe here. Lacking dangerous wildlife. Stable sane population for the most part. A lot of good people here.
Doesn’t sound too bad I suppose, as someone who currently lives in Maryland closer to DC and Baltimore I’d love to stay here but the prices aren’t right by any means. Crazy how much more affordable Delaware is even tho it’s only a few hours away.
Haters gonna hate, and overly opinionated people will surely not like this, but of the 4 states I have lived in( Pennsylvania, Vermont, Florida and Delaware) I Love Delaware. There is so much history here, and the natives are truly nice people. As with any state, there are good areas and bad areas. I live in Millsboro, Sussex County, just far enough from the beaches. Its a nice place. I say why not visit for yourself, and judge. Rehoboth Beach is really nice. I lived in Sarasota Florida, and never found a beach that was like Rehoboth. Small town feel, and really nice people. Ask a local and they will tell you.

Not just horseshoe crabs but lots of other fish, rays, and tons of sand tiger sharks. There's this sand coral that serves as a substrate for mussel beds and the gulls perch on them and pick small prey out of the shallow pools at low tide. There's cactus everywhere behind the bluffs. @@quinnswanson8658 Be careful hanging out in Wilmington; it's Delaware's murder capital
@quinnswanson8658 The Queen, dozens of bars downtown, trolley square and on the Riverfront, but when your dug into your scene the places shift. The Ricans have some jumping spots on Union St and 4th St if that's your scene, Black folks have some good hood bars and spots on Rt 13. White folks have a lot. It's still a little racially divided, but everyone is welcome everywhere. Just from my experience if I go somewhere it's rarely an even mix of races, but everybody be chilling. They're going to welcome you if you're white in a predominantly black spot and vice versa.
Love Delaware, moved here in 2018 from NYC and never looked back
Moved here from Atlantic city in 2017. It's a great place.
Moved from NJ. 💕 It here!
Glad you like it down here
I’m considering doing the same!
I came over from NJ. There are many people from NY and NJ moving over to Delaware; NY and NJ people make up 10% of the state's population according to NY Times. I like it here a lot. North Wilmington has all of the suburban amenities as the NJ borough I moved away from and I can visit NJ people on the weekends very easily or take the train up to Philly or NYC. Property taxes are 1/4 of what my NJ relatives pay for a similar home. I can't see any reason to go back.
I live in PA about 2 miles north of Hockessin, DE. This guy you’re interviewing is spot on about Delaware. I’ve been going to Delaware at least once a week for my whole life. North and South. I know Delaware as well as if I was a resident. He’s absolutely nailed it about how it is.
Thank you!
I come up your way once a week to buy food from the Amish up in Cochranville. Beautiful country up there!
Cochranville is a beautiful area. My parents live close to it. I live literally about 5min. over the line from Delaware in Toughkenamon, PA.
@@jasondavis2699 oh yes!! You're right up the road from me! I'm about a half block off of route 41 below Hockessin. My dad's family were Hockessin people when it was farmland. Keating Excavating ring a bell? Cochranville is beautiful. I'd love to move anywhere above Avondale.😊
@@sherryk30 I’ve heard of Kevin Keating. I don’t know him myself, but a lot of my friends do. My grandmother’s sister was Mildred Haines. She worked at the Hockessin Fire Hall for years. I like how at 11:52 when supposedly depicting Kent County, the video footage is from Ohio based on the highway signs.
I forgot chrysler plant that was in Newark. My dad used to work there and my stepmom worked for UD.
My dad worked for Chrysler
You'd never know a plant was there now. UD went scorched earth on it. Chrysler assembled WWII tanks at that plant too.
@@carmenmonoxide7459 my dad was a manager in the tank plant before they closed it down in the early 60's.
There's an error in your video. At 11:50 on the video you're driving in Kent County, but you are not in Kent County Delaware as those state highway signs are I believe Ohio, definitely not Delaware. So maybe a bit of another video from Ohio somehow got spliced into this, but those are not Delaware routes, and I've looked at my Delaware highway map and Googled and not route 117 and 274 anywhere in Delaware.
Good morning Nick, I got back on to "Charliebo" from some clips you had on one of your videos, I used to be a subscriber of him a few years ago & I'd forgotten all about him... I'm going to make some videos about Australia's poorest suburbs soon Cheers... 🇦🇺😊🇺🇸🤠
CharlieBo is AWESOME
No don't bother, not interested. We want to see Australia's hottest women with that sexy Australian accents. Maybe Australian mail order brides we can bring here to the US? They'll be good for our gene pool.
Born and raised in wilmington de. This is soooo accurate 😂 I love how the bucket was mentioned! Lol! This is really good. Anyone thinking of visiting or moving to Delaware needs to watch this video first!

The C&D canal is north of Middletown, and both are entirely contained in New Castle County. It is possible to walk across the state with only 13 miles, just by going along the canal.

Just wondering Nick, do you miss Calif at all, I watch your videos with dreams of moving but Calif kind of gets stuck under your skin
I've been bugging Nick to do it every time he dissed Wilmington. LOL

Wrong.

A: Idaho, Alaska.
True
I love Delaware

No they won't..
Actress Valerie Bertinelli grew up outside Wilmington in a nice section of Claymont facing the DE River. And just across the DE Memorial Bridge Pennsville, NJ where actor Bruce Willis grew up is the first town you come to once you cross the river.
Cool
Denzil Washington and Wesley Snipes visited here to see Butch Lewis before he passed. He has a had a home in Rehoboth Beach. Saw pics of Denzil sitting in a bar there. Wesley was in a club near Riverfront. He was dancing having normal fun, wearing sweatshirt n'sneaks.
I lived just across the bridge from Delaware for 50 yrs. Up to 48 yrs ago, Hockession was nothing but woods.
And farm land.
I was born and raised in Delaware the only thing I can complain about is the traffic, having to share the roads with people from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland sucks

Delaware is my all time favorite state!!! Thanks Nick!!!
Its pronounced "smur-na" (Smyrna). I'm a "transplant" via the USAF. It was interesting learning to correctly prounounce some of the towns here -- Lewes (lewis), Townsend (towns end), Newark (new ark) and seeing an Amish buggy on the road for the first time.
Lewes must be named after the one in Sussex in U.K.
I’m actually surprised how spot on ! This is literally exactly how I describe it to people. I’m from Newcastle it’s so nasty lol.

It's no way this dude didn't live in Delaware, especially knowing about Slower lower. And especially how spot on you was on New Castle county and how Kent County Slower lower is
It’s like three separate states in one small land mass.
Delaware, home of tax-free shopping.

Fantastic video as always!
The "Unboxing Series" is so valuable. I'm ready for "Unboxing Re-boxed 2.0" once Nick covers all 50.

I grew up in the great state of Delaware and I sure do miss it. I live in NJ now and let me tell you. NJ is super expensive to live. The property tax is through the roof and they make ridiculous excuses to raise them. Income tax, sales tax and car insurance are insane as well. I'll take Delaware and it's boring any day. In your video, you described Delaware perfectly. I Love Delaware it will always be home.

What's keeping you from moving back?
They vote Democrat. Blame the idiotic beach and college culture.
That's what a lot of people fail to see. "Boring" isn't bad for home, especially when it's so easy to go to a more populous area for activities.

Life will be very good in Delaware guess one day i will be there too
Born and raised in Rehoboth, now attending university of Delaware, you nailed this video.
Doesn’t sound too bad I suppose, as someone who currently lives in Maryland closer to DC and Baltimore I’d love to stay here but the prices aren’t right by any means. Crazy how much more affordable Delaware is even tho it’s only a few hours away.
Currently living in New Castle County. Everything's pretty damn accurate
I live here too. New Castle County. I dispute some of your statement.
The biggest high school in Delaware . Is William Penn high . And that where I went to in 1998-2002.

Another great vid. Spent gobs of time out there last couple years. Milford and Milton are great in-betweens. Close enough to the beaches but also a hidden secret of DE is mid-bay, around Big Stone Beach, which is somewhat parallel with the Milford area. It's gorgeous. Rugged. Tons of life. It's splendid. Link in reply.
