That is hilarious! This band just popped up in my Spotify Release Radar today for the first time and I love them. So hearing you reference is amazing!!!
Your analysis videos are so interesting to someone who knows little of music theory, such as myself. To hear an analysis of a metal song - my favorite genre - is such a great bonus. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you!
I've fallen so hard for this band over the years that if they turn out to actually be assholes, I think I'll end up going full Michael Douglas in Falling Down!
I love this song so much. Everytime I hear it I think of calling it a perfect song. The entire thing is so dynamic and new. In the verses the music itself is pushing while the vocals drag a little behind, just taking his time. And then the ending. THE ENDING!! Amazing. Now the instrumentals are the ones taking their time. They are comfortable with letting the song breath and sitting in the open spaces. There's very little guitar and bass actually getting played in the funk part but it's still getting pushed like a rear engine freight train with those drums and fills. Fkn great stuff
I remember watching your reaction to Tilians voice from Dance Gavin Dance . As soon as I started listening to ST I immediately thought of you doing a reaction video to them ! And you have . This band is brilliant ❤
Taking nothing away from what The Vessel's voice can do, their drummer is on a whole other level than ANYONE in the game. The insanity he's doing in the back with those fills are God tier. Dude is an absolute unit of a madman.
Suscribing in a heartbeat cause you recommend Nothing but thieves, Connor vocals are immaculate love the band so far . Love Sleep Token my new obsession
I'd recommend reacting to Sleeptoken's 'Bloodsport' next. It's exclusively vocals and piano, and the video allows you to see what Vessel does with his mouth through a lot of the song. It's also the only song that made me tear up in recent memory
YES IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY that song gives me chills every single time; the emotion he pushes through somehow is on another level, he sounds like he’s in physical pain and it’s so beautiful and sad all at once.
@@bubblesnz1059 yes, a heartfelt and emotional piano performance is very boring; i forgot every song needs to have pounding drums and heavy riffs to be even a little interesting.
A friend's twittwr comment introduced me to sleep token. I love their genre bending unpredictability. That voice is full of emotion and power and is such a gorgeous contrast to the instrumentation that wouldn't be out of place on a death metal or metalcore album. Tesseract does similar. Another great British band.
Great reaction and analysis, as always. Tbh, for most of the song I was kind of writing them off as typical, Tool-influenced prog metal with some admittedly nice pop tinges here and there. Then, that funky section happened at the end and now I'm confused and intrigued and I need to her more.
Sleep Token has such a massively varied style from song to song. There's songs like this that blend genres, and there's ones that are more straightforward. In general, you'll find that Sleep Token meshes heavy with ethereal and progressive sounds, and loves their beautiful piano and synths. One of my favorite songs of theirs is Nazareth; absolutely gorgeous song from when they first came on the scene in 2017.
I’m an American and I’m just really good with accents. THANK YOU for being like yup, British. The first song I ever heard by them I was like oh this dude is from the UK within the first two lines.
Omg I been waiting for you to react to Sleep Token my fav band since I started following you years ago and this finally happened, I actually I listening specially the Acapella and piano covers from Sleep Token and I wonder what does Beth would said about that 😅
its funny you said this song made you feel in an ocean on an alien planet. I've heard a lot of people describe listening to Sleep Token as walking on a different planet, or floating in space. Theres a lot of vastness and openness in their songs that really lean into that very outer space, alien-esque feel
It's very ethereal sounding kind of like the song Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, they've got a few songs where all you can do is close your eyes and just sway
The singer sounds almost exactly like Gavin Rossdale from Bush! Although I'm unsure Gavin Rossdale can do the screams but the voice in the verses could literally be him.
I've been obsessed with this band and song for awhile now. I can't stop feeling like I'm transported to the world of Subnautica! I thought maybe it was just my feeling here, until I hear Beth say (ua-cam.com/video/46NYwCqFNu8/v-deo.html) ""It's like you're in the sea of an alien planet" -Charlie (creator of Subnautica)
Super interesting band, with a sound that stand out. if you want to get an idea of where the front singer comes from before this project. Listen to Blacklit Canopy, you can hear its the same. But at the same time, its so very different.
@4:37 come on now 😂😂😂 I love this song as much as most people who are in this comment section, but this singer couldn’t hold Conor Masons jock strap hahaha ESPECIALLY live. Sleep token are decent, but incredibly processed (including the vocals). If anyone hasn’t heard nothing but thieves, go check them out and you’ll see what I mean. Conor is very possibly the best current vocalist in rock
what is it with this last part, i mean it's kinda cool, but i still prefer the first part of the song, but literally EVERY single female youtuber that listened to this song said she likes this part more, wth... 🧐
A lot of people reacting to it aren’t typically metal heads so the ending is the part that hooks them. I’m here for it, let Sleep Token trick more people into realizing they like metal one song at a time.
The first parts while great sounds fairly typical within the genre. The ending is what makes it stand out and be unique. Plus they play on the whole heavy, soft, heavy again and go heavy, soft, and into funk
It’s not surprising, metalheads are like 90% male or something. What makes Sleep Token so incredible is the diversity in their sound, genres, emotions, and fan base.
Chris, aussie chick here. Your comment equates to someone buying a blow up doll when a flesh and blood woman is panting for your love. Bask in what's real first.
Hey, what's up Beth? I know you love reacted to some Brazilian singers, could you check this one: Daniel - estou apaixonado DVD 40 anos? I really appreciate your time, i mean, I'm pretty sure almost all Brazilians know this song

What I love about Beth is she keeps it concise. So many people want to do 30 minute breakdowns and mostly it’s not necessary. Beth nails it
Nothing But Thieves is definitely a good reference. Havent heard anyone mentioning them in a Sleep Token reaction.
Agreed
Thats super cool bc discovering sleep token directly lead to me discovering nothing but thieves!!
That is hilarious! This band just popped up in my Spotify Release Radar today for the first time and I love them. So hearing you reference is amazing!!!
Sleep Token is like "SURPRISE ASSHOLES THIS SONG IS A FUCKJAM NOW"
I don't know WHY it took me so long to hear Beth's analysis of The Summoning, but I was NOT disappointed! Love your vids, keep them coming!
Same
Pausing right at "Oh my love" is the biggest tragedy in any review I've seen so far :(
Was criminal 😂 few times she paused when noone else has or should
I shouted “wtf?!” Right when she paused. What the hell???!!!!😂
That was written with musical talent with amazing vocals
She paused it not knowing that was coming? Chill bro
@RVFFICA and yes, others have
Chill 😂
That's not vore, that's the summoning lol

I'll probably just turn into an asshole with them.
I have it on good authority they are nice lads.
Are you not economically viable?
why would you care lol? enjoy the music and ignore the people involved.
Polyphia has said they’re great, and I’ve even met polyphia and they’re great, so I totally trust that

Vore would have been an interesting choice for a first listen
Absolutely not, vore starts off too hard for people who don't Necessarily like rock
@@daniel_millican I said this because the title of the video originally said Vore.
“they all could just be singing angels” i love you😭😭

Hi Beth! Thank you 🙏 for this new reaction video. I'll continue to pray. Be blessed.
I second the Bloodsport comments, especially the room below version. So raw and powerful, it made me tear up the first time I heard it
I think you are right with the similarities with Conor Mason - they both seem to have classical training that creates a certain feel to their voice
I’m an American and I’m just really good with accents. THANK YOU for being like yup, British. The first song I ever heard by them I was like oh this dude is from the UK within the first two lines.

She’s not British. She’s Scottish. So much for being good with accents
@nedrini1055 he's talking about the band duh and yes she's still British also.

Fun Fact: There’s actually only 2 official members of this band.. Vocals- Vessel 1 .. Drums- Vessel 2
love this. Time for another ST react. Worship 🙏🏻
It's like someone pissed in 30 Seconds To Mars' cornflakes.
3:35 goes unnecessarily hard and I love it.

I'm jealous of how high you are.
@Jay Ok I wish I was high when I wrote that, it would've been a thesis and nobody would've read it lmao
This description reminded me of 'Atlantic' 😁🌊
I am convinced the lead singer of this band is Dan Smith from Bastille.
I was expecting the intro to vore. Then boom. I was so confused for a second lol.
Got me too lol
Been waiting for this one!
Mixes the atmosphere of Deftones with the dark melody of Paradise Lost.
🍎🍎You are wonderful vocal coach and teacher. Happy friday Beth 🎸😻
Vessel has one of the coolest Vibratos in all of music.
I can't believe she missed the transition at 7:38. Tragedy.
Great choice, maybe you could try The Offering, Nazareth, Jaws, Chokehold, Granite or Alkaline, for example.
yeah this is the summoning lol great reaction still though. thanks for the upload beth
This is the summoning not vore?
?

You have GOT to do a reaction to Bad Omens!!! The Death of Peace of Mine or Like a Villain would be great songs to do!!!!
Do Bad Omens next. Maybe The Villian or The Death of Peace of Mind!
Bloodsport is a perfect song to react to from them. Just Vessel and a piano
That's just the from the room below version, a lot of people forget there's a full instrument version from the album too
@Mackathne Well yeah I was going off of what most other reactors were doing for that song. Giving a descriptor
I was in the city when they were playing & it was sold out, i tried so hard to get in but no dice. Vessel is awesome
i feel im able to head bang to opera now!
His lower singing range kinda reminds me of Ben Burnley from Breaking Benjamin.
I never though of that, but it’s very accurate
I love this song, I had to read the lyrics to see the meaning of this song
You should break down “Stranger Things” by the band Periphery I think you’d like the singer
The singer sounds almost exactly like Gavin Rossdale from Bush! Although I'm unsure Gavin Rossdale can do the screams but the voice in the verses could literally be him.
You really should check out Alkaline from these guys. The chorus has such a hook. You'll love it.
Vessels identity is like the internets worst secret at this point. The hidden offerings are worth going down the rabbit hole tho :p
Reminds me of a cross between Tool,Depeche Mode and Bruno Mars
Lol accurate
And Hozier at the end
Very king crimson in that prog rock part
You def need to watch their live video.
I feel personally attacked by what you did at 7:38
Great reaction amazing band can you do a reaction to euclid please
Hey there, the description and link to the original video are for Vore, not the summoning
The title says you're reacting to the song Vore, this is The Summoning though.
The vocals over those dealdy downtuned guitars - vast dimension to this jam.

Can you please do a video on Chuck Schuldiner of Death! I think you’d really find em interesting
Rob Damiani (Don Broco - vocalist) vibes on the vocals anyone???😊
They're from london
Missed opportunity here with some massive vocals not being commented on 😮
This is The Summoning. Not Vore lol.
