Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial! It’d been so long since I used my cover stitch and I needed to change the thread colours and had totally forgotten how to thread it. 🤗
For a coverstitch I might tend to agree with you but I would definitely pay extra for air threading on a serger. While I don’t have any trouble threading my serger, it’s still quite a lot of steps and I think air threading would make it much faster.

You’re so welcome!!! I love this machine!!
I've heard so many good thing about baby locks!
I love this coverstitch!!! I’d have all baby locks if I could afford it.
Thanks so much!
Ohh question! So I know basic sewing (and I mean basic 😂). What would the purpose of this machine and stich be? As opposed to just a normal machine?!
A coverstitch machine is just for hemming and topstitching :)
Where can Ibuy this discontinued machine?
I didn’t realize it was discontinued. I’ve had this for several years. I would check online and also if you have any sewing shops near you.
Thanks 😊
what is the difference between the BLCS and BLCS-2?
I honestly don’t know! You could probably google it. I just assumed that the 2 is the second version of their cover stitch but I could be wrong!
Where did you get your coverstitch machine from; how much did it cost, and where can I get one? What are coverstitches used for?
I got mine at a local sewing shop. I don’t remember the exact cost, but it was over $1,000. Coverstitches are used for hemming and topstitching :)
P.S. I love mechanical machines, and I love babylock products.😊
My mom wants a serger.
The brother 1034d is affordable and does a great job!
I cannot see the advantage of air threading. It still seems to be the same laborious process of threading. Pity.

Threading a manual cover stitch machine is very difficult for me! This would be amazing.
This was way over my head. Haha.
Haha oh no! That definitely wasn’t my goal!!
@@thethriftysewist girl, I can barely work a basic sewing machine. My mom would probably understand everything you did and said.
@@here2therejourney In my opinion a coverstitch is much easier to figure out than a serger. Either way you just have to jump right in and go for it!
