    TIPS FOR BETTER COVERSTITCHING
    ■ Make sure the needles sit firmly in the slot
    ■ Try a larger needle if the fabric and the machine can handle it
    ■ Replace used needles with fresh ones
    ■ Check the threading
    ■ Flatten out bumpy surfaces
■Increase stitch length and differential feed when sewing over bulky seams
    ■ Sometimes increasing the stitch length, in general, can help too. I’ve found that if I go below 2 on my coverstitch machine it’s much more likely to start skipping stitches.
    ■ Use a wash-away stabiliser or fusible interfacing to help the stitching form better
    ■ Never pull the fabric
    ■ Experiment with the presser foot pressure
    ■ Use quality thread and needles

I like to always test on scraps before I start my cover stitching! It has saved me from unpicking many times!

Have a Brother Coverstitch... very temperamental and too much, just gave in and got myself a BabyLock Ovation, combined serger/coverstitch, expensive true but SOOO worth it, not to mention, I can use all 8 spools simultaneously, blew my mind!

I had the same issues with the Janome. Now have a Babylock Gloria. Worth saving up for.

@@janeybwells2810 Me too with a Janome combination serger/coverstitch machine. I purchased a gently used Babylock Ovation (U.S. name) and it took care of many of my serging issues. Great machine!

I wanted to thank you for your last video on your favorite sewing tools. After watching it, I decided to purchase the orange colored ‘hump-jumper’. One for me and the other for a friend. Joann Fabrics has them on sale for nearly half of what Walmart is selling them for. Of course, with you not living in the USA you may not shop at these stores, but I thought that others may want to find this tool. Thanks again! Today’s video will be very helpful also. Each day I may be using a different machine, it’s always great to expand my knowledge! ❤

I've always found that thin bamboo ou rayon jersey needs some wash away Wonder Tape to sew properly. It's just too unruly to sew by itself!

The link to her favorite sewing tools is in the description. You can get them on Amazon, or any sewing supply store, usually. It’s a common item. I’ve also used cardboard.
