I bought playstion vr , played dirt, bought a race seat wheel , shifter setup and am hooked. Your upload has literally just answered EVERY question I had about race sims .... cheers dude.
Also the cost of a racecar point is so accurate. People always are suprised how much my sim stuff costs, and their other racers/drifters. Like I spend $4k for a couple out of state drift events. and that's not considering days of working on the car before and after, cost of the car, cost of the truck/trailer. etc. It's not the same as real life, but for the cost, you can't beat it.
An Incredible review. I enjoyed every minute watching as this is a totally new system. I first had the ProSimu looked up, but you mentioned a few issues i was concerned about and now I think i´ll rather pick up this one. Probably i will still wait a few month and safe some more money as the Pro-version would be my choice as well. A great Video over all!! Thank you!!
This is one of the best review videos I've watched. I was making my decisions between this dof p3 vs promisu t1000 vs NLR v3. Very glad I found your vid this pretty much answered every doubts I had. I'm completely new to this and was looking at entry sim racing options. I guess the only questions I have left now are pretty much the shipping cost comparisons. Thanks and blessings from hong kong.
going to get one… only because the tracks aren’t open year round here. best video I’ve come across while looking for information 4 years later. great job.
Thanks for the review as I was thinking about a "bum mover" so you have saved me frrom an expensive mistake. Looking forward to starting out my simulator journey
Great video and detailed review. After seeing many reviews considering all aspects of the unit my unopened P3 is awaiting assembly in the garage. Can’t wait to set it up. Shipping and import duties was ridiculous to Sydney, however even when you consider this cost it is still the best value full motion rig on the market. For those whom compare NLR V3 to full motion they really are not comparable, but as they say each to their own preference. Keep up the great reviews on this rigs mods.👍
Hey mate, how much exactly was the import duties ? I am in Brizzy and looking at the dof P3 ... I hav been using NLv3 for past 3 years but this looks like might be what I want for traction loss.
At 17:00 you stated turn off traction slide out on flight sim but there is a yaw factor to consider and a setting because yaw is an ever present factor in flight crosswinds crabbing to land ground affect etc. So a 3 axis would be great, 6 would be stellar you get surge dive and turbulence with the extra 3 motors and dampers .... I haven't pulled the proverbial trigger yet ... might go p2 to p3 then upgrade later to 6 ... well see ...Great vid !!
Great video! I decided to build my own despite your recommendations and well, it turned out awesome! But yep DIY is not for everyone and as you say we seem to use the same software to control it. I'm very happy and even posted a build video or two on it. BIG THANK YOU my friend!! DMAX Motion Sim Channel
Awesome video man, you knocked it out of the park! I have been looking at different motion rig options and dof reality has been at the top of my list, the price and performance seems second to none. So glad I found your video, thanks for such an in depth quality review. You helped me decide when I go motion I'll go with dof reality. Also I agree wreckfest is an absolute blast it's a shame they don't have the telemetry for motion or support for VR.
The post-purchase support that he mentions definitely seals the deal. I plan on getting one in maybe a year or so once I can free up the cash. This thing is awesome!
Lol, my rig is one of the hand made, windshield wiper motor setups. Re: the safety strap - I once had my son on the rig, and he’s a big boy. The gimble that my rig was based on just snapped and the whole rig hit the ground with him in it. A redesign solved that problem, but it was scary at the time. Great review! I’m working on a job where I’ll be using this model for a customer and this was super helpful. Thanks!
Hell yeah, thanks for the video. Almost all the other ones are foreign languages or just demos showing what it can do. Glad to see an in depth review, earned my sub good sir. Plan on getting one of these this year or next hopefully.
Amazing video bro , thank you for taking the time to make this , I am in the research of building my first motion simulator and your video just saved me a tone of money hahaha :))
I just received my DOFReality H6. Feeling a bit of flex in the wheel deck. Also I’m big into flight sims. I love your 8020 setup. See you’re swapping between lots of different controllers. How are you doing this easily? DIY video for your custom controller deck? I think your 8020 deck would work with the H6/P6
I am an owner of P3 since June 2018 and I totally agree with you. The P3 is awesome and a spoiler especially in VR. I have the same issue with the the TL wheels, however, they’re still holding on. I had a failed controller board right from the start, but they immediately replaced it. I had a failing gear box of one of the motors. They immediately sent me a replacement which unfortunately was the wrong model so they sent me another one which is due to arrive in few days. Their online support is awesome especially Igor whom I don’t see anymore, I don’t know if he’s still working with them or not. Regarding the issue of the front pivot, I had a similar experience like yours when the top section was ejected from the base LOL. Sure it was a horrible experience exactly like a real accident. I emailed them and it turned out that I forgot to fix the screw that fixes the top part to the base. I’m sure you’ll find that screw lying around somewhere not knowing what it was intended for. This screw goes through a hole in the base opposite to the pivot joint and screws to the pivot to secure it in place. Later I found that it was mentioned in their instructions PDF. As you have mentioned, this platform is a game changer, and I would like to point out that your first very few videos were the ones that convinced me into buying the this platform and I’m sure it had convinced others to do the same. Will I buy it again even though it had and will have some issues, definitely.
hi, in the video he mentions that the motors are not so fast. What does that mean? Is it like a lot slower than actuators or it's almost not even noticable? Also I hope it's nothing to do with the delay. Do you feel delay on what you see on the screen and the movement of the motion platform? Do you feel a bit of a delay or it feels immediate? This answer can help me also purchasing this thing. My finger is on the 'order' button already, but i need this answer now :P thanks!
@@isti1986 flying very small delay, but racing no delay. Motors are slower than actuators. Not that much, I have never owned actuators so I can't comment how much faster. Simply watch my videos, it's more than fast and I don't notice any of these issues
Amazing...very glad something like this exists. They will be having a new customer soon. All that I want in life is to learn how to fly but I just don't have the time or money for a pilot's license & aircraft, but I def. have the time and money for something like this to satiate my appetite in the mean time :D
You do something like buy a full-motion sim rig for your household, you have to expect to get a little spoiled. Of course games with no motion are just gonna disappoint from then on. You should expect that when you say to yourself "I want a rig that moves me when I drive" lol Honestly, I like this review, it looks at both sides of owning a rig like this, and the pros and cons are very honest and make sense. I'm hard pressed to think that the cons weigh anything close to the pros, however. I've checked the game list, every game I own and would expect to use a motion rig with is supported currently. If I play a different driving/racing game I can accept that there's no motion. For instance, I have NASCAR Heat 4, which I consider a simcade, which isn't supported. However, if I wanted a realistic NASCAR experience with full motion, I can play NASCAR Racing 2003 season, which does support it (and I've owned since 2003). Basically, if I'm gonna drop this kind of money on something, it's gonna be because I want to maximize my immersion, and personally I can only see me doing so with titles that advertise themselves as "simulators". In the future I'm sure more titles will be supported, and this sim platform is just waaaaayyyy too good not to put on the Christmas list lol
To me, it looks kinda bouncy. Seems like when the motion stop in any direction, there's like this spring back effect that makes it looks imprecise. Never tried it though, so don't really know how it feels for real! Maybe not the case, just my impressions looking at many videos about it.
I noticed that too. It seems jerky and had some slacks. Some movements are somewhat not true. I am postponing my purchase until the software and motor controllers are fine tuned and corrected.
@@jameshuli1 I agree with ESR, cars ARE often bouncy, they are on springs, which causes all kinds of flex and bounce. When I watch this system function, I am seeing parts where it moves and stops without any kind of bounce, so I would say that bouncing is supposed to be there to simulate the car. Watch some of the footage again closely, and you'll see at points it does do a violent movement, then STOPS dead instantly.
Great Video ESR. I'm looking into motion simulators for the first time and this review was extremely helpful. Something i was listening out for was what size room you will need to be able to accommodate a motion simulator like this one. Granted your video gave a great view of your simulator in situ, but some minimum measurements would be very helpful to those who are interested in buying something like this. One piece of advise I would proffer, from someone who has worked in TV. Never apologise for your reviews. Your audience came to learn about motion simulators and every bit of info you gave was important. Those who didn't appreciate the details have already gone so you are only ever communicating to those who are passionate about the subject matter. Thanks again for a great review :-)
A major Con I see, for me at least, is the fact I would have to buy two complete setups. I mean imagine the fun that could be had if you and your family or guests were able to race with or against each other. It goes back to the days of Dual player games on the older gaming systems that were so much fun as a child when you had your buddies over and gamed all day/night together...
Mjr Burn I saw one online that had room for 1 or 2 passengers that can sit next to you and slightly behind but also get to experience the motion; thought that was cool but likely outside everyone’s budget.
I'm not sure why you got 100 thumbs down. Video was a little long but you have a lot of excellent info. I recently came across a DOF P3 review and it renewed my desire for a motion rig. I have one setting in my cart, I'm doing some last minute checking before pulling the trigger thanks for doing the video very helpful.
Received mine a month ago, there is now updates with the rear traction wheel assembly , is much stronger with huge roller wheels. The soft ware is now Sim world Studio . I also fitted a option extra of front adjustable shock absorbers which smooth out the gear slack and take away the jerkiness. Takes a lot of fiddling to work the software out between games but is very effective, games seem bland without it on. Go on and buy one ! There was a £250 import tax i did not see listed.
such an affordable motion platform and the ability to start small and go big is also a big bonus, I'm running a 3dof Prosimu rig and to upgrade to 5dof using the same SCN6 actuators is a big price leap, for an extra couple of grand I could have a full 5dof Prosimu PRS actuator system, so tempted to just up it and get the 5dof and have the 2 rigs on the go for guests (when I get any lol I've friends who hardly ever visit even with the motion setup I have, suppose that's a more time for me bonus I suppose lol :D ).....
@@danyalreyaz7503 Than it would've been a goto choice for a lot of people. I've just done the next cheaper option, a SFX 100. Also a good bang for buck. But shitload of upfront work.
Looks like a great rig. Btw Scn6 actuators are electronic. I have a prosimu and don't find it excessively noisy. Not dead quiet but it's alright. Great review.
Hello. How the SIM going after all this time, have you had any issues with it? Is it still going? If it had problems did the manufacturer help out quickly. I only ask as I am thinking of getting one but its $900 to freight it here (Australia)! So im interested in know if its reliable. Hopefully you will reply. Have a nice day.
Hey I have enjoy your videos very informative, i was wondering or if you would do a video on pc set up in terms of monitors, pc, software, ect besides description how to connect the 3 monitor to the pc, install and so on. I'm gonna get a dof reality p3 with a fanatec set up, but I wanna find out more about the pc and visual partof things, anyways thanks and keep it up!
Great video! Very instructive! Several years on simracing and now really decide to upgrade to the next level. Not yet decided between p3 or p6. Where can i find the full video of the p6 that appears quickly in 2.14 ?? Thanks again! just discover my futur rig 👍
Sir, how did you modify the table for the direct drive wheel, I have a direct drive, and I don't think the wheel mount will hold up this after some time. Also I was told that the plastic will errode, so I will need to get replacements that are steal. I'm 250lbs ( former wrestler) 5'11. You think it'll have issues with my weight. Can we replace the motors if we need to replace them? or do we need to purchase them exclusively from them directly?
Great video, thank you for giving us such a great review on this product. I ordered the P3 full motion a couple weeks ago, and it seems it is going to need some reinforcement and customization. Pardon my ignorance, would you mind telling me the name of those black rail bars you're using for your customization work. Thanks for your help : )
Great, thank you very much. It would be great if you had the time to make a couple videos for us out there following your footsteps : ) One video about your rig customization structure. One video about your tactile transducers and shakers setup. It is not about copying what you've done but rather helping us understand what works and what doesn't. Maybe it would allow us to derive our own custom setup from your own experience spend on modifying this rig. Again and like Mohammed Fahmy said you are part of the reason why I went for this motion rig after and extensive research and the price too. Thanks again for your great videos, keep's coming : )
Really appreciate your time and effort, it is really helpful for us out there who are getting involved in motion rigs. I sincerely hope your channel will grow : )
Is it your impression that there are imprecise movements, bounsiness and rattling and the servomotors or rather the gearboxes have some serious backlash/play/slack?
Thanks for the video, I was wondering what happened to your Virpil Sticks? Was hoping to see them in this montage. Can you do a video on them if you have the time.
I would really love to hear some reviews on drifting in these simulators. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but as far as i can tell there's not really anyone filling that niche
just so you know on the front of your rig you have a safety strap encase you haven't realised there is supposed to be a bolt that goes into that from the underside. im not sure if this is only in the most recent versions but on mine there is a bolt that goes through the pivot at the front to pin them togeather and no need for a safety strap. might be worth checking yours again
I appreciate all the info here. After a couple of years thinking about moving from a non-motion setup to a motion sim, I pulled the trigger on the P3 a few weeks ago (should arrive in a couple days). I've been scouring your vids the last few weeks while I wait. I'm really interested in your build out of a better wheel platform and peripheral setup for the rig. You mentioned using aluminum (and of course I can see the work you've done) to upgrade the more cheaply done stock wheel platform. I don't plan to put as many accessories on mine as you've done with yours, but I'd like to add a keyboard and have some additional flexibility. Any chance you will be shooting a video to walk through the customization of that section of your rig at the "frame" level? Thanks again for all the information. It has been helpful.
I really like your 8020 modifications! would you be willing to do a video walking through those modifications and detail a parts list and where you sourced them (tnutz?)?
Gadddd dammm it !!!!! i am really trying not to touch the credit card. great video by the way. i have the pimax 5k and its amazing all by it self. once i get this i guess my social life is done loool. I play DCS, project cars 1 - 2, xplane 11, assetto corsa, prepar 3d
The USB being picky about the port you connect your peripherals is actually a Windows limitation. Linux or Mac OS have no such issues. Unfortunately, pretty much all games are available only for Windows so you have to deal with peculiarities of Windows as a result.
great review, thank you. how do you handle switching between flight and racing? do you have to rebalance the rig when changing from the DD wheel to the flight yoke?
Re seat mover vs all rig mover... at first I'd have agreed with you. Full rig mover would appear to be a more sensible choice. However, after opting for the NLR V3. The seat mover does simulate G-Force of you sliding around in your seat reaching back to the steering wheel. You're not fixed to the seat in a real car and essentially you will slide around independently of the steering wheel regardless. The difference in effect I think would be much less than you'd think and especially in VR, the effect is very believable even in a 2dof system. Now I might look biased because I have an NLR V3. But the main reason I didn't go the P3 apart from shipping costs. Are the number of videos where Sim Racing in particular has very fast transition motions that the P3 cannot do shifting all that weight. It just can't. And if it tried, it'd be sucking up so much electricity to do it, you'd be pushing the limit of your wall circuit with the rig and your PC all at the same time. The NLR V3 has a much lower profile... smaller than my seat. It's faster for sim racing at least. And the lower center of gravity means it's much more stable... I've seen too many P3 videos where the rig is lifting corners in sim racing... that's a lot of expensive gear to have fall over and smash on the floor.
Great vide , just started thinking about motion lately. Looks like you have some transducers hooked up. A buttkicker and something else? How does that work in conjunction with the motion? I have a static rig , but Sim Hub with three transducers (one under pedals for front suspension, one under my rig platform for engine effects, and one on back of seat legs for rear suspension) Would it be possible (or necessary) for three transducers? Or is one for engine enough ?
Do you think this could be relatively easily retro-modded into a 4-DOF rig by attaching a 3rd motor and rod centered on the rear of the seat and doing away with the U joint? The goal would be to have even stronger pitch and roll, as well as vertical bouncing to simulate jumps and other whole-vehicle suspension undulations.
I bought playstion vr , played dirt, bought a race seat wheel , shifter setup and am hooked. Your upload has literally just answered EVERY question I had about race sims .... cheers dude.
Great video! Thank you for the review! I've wanted a motion sim for such a long time. I didn't realize a decent unit was this affordable.
Also the cost of a racecar point is so accurate. People always are suprised how much my sim stuff costs, and their other racers/drifters. Also question, would you say it's worth just doing the 6? Thinking of doing the 3 and upgrading later on.

Those who didn't appreciate the details have already gone so you are only ever communicating to those who are passionate about the subject matter. Thanks again for a great review :-)
Can you measure the distance between the pivot point and the front of the motor
How is the quality holding up now that over 1½ years have passed?
Looking into getting one :)

Shipping is $600 now to the USA
Does the wheel mount still squeek?
@@Fastm3driver no it is fine. Just turn off then off then on again
Awesome product. What impressed me most is the robust and powerful transteno worm gear motor. We are very interested to develop a similar product.
My plan was to build one myself but for only 1200euro this is a better option 🙌
Traction might be good for wind shear in flying sims.
such an affordable motion platform and the ability to start small and go big is also a big bonus, I'm running a 3dof Prosimu rig and to upgrade to 5dof using the same SCN6 actuators is a big price leap, for an extra couple of grand I could have a full 5dof Prosimu PRS actuator system, so tempted to just up it and get the 5dof and have the 2 rigs on the go for guests (when I get any lol I've friends who hardly ever visit even with the motion setup I have, suppose that's a more time for me bonus I suppose lol :D ).....
This thing as an 8020 would sell like hot cake. Is there actually a way to change alle the rails for 8020 and put this on top on the motors?
Won't handle the weight otherwise they would have done it from the beginning.
@@danyalreyaz7503 Than it would've been a goto choice for a lot of people. I've just done the next cheaper option, a SFX 100. Also a good bang for buck. But shitload of upfront work.
About to be a proud owner of the dof reality. Just not sure on what one to get.
Hey man, did you end up getting one? How is it?
No nonsense review. Thanks brother!
Looks like a great rig. Btw Scn6 actuators are electronic. I have a prosimu and don't find it excessively noisy. Not dead quiet but it's alright.
Great review.
I like your definition of affordable
Seriously. It's $2300US just for the P2 model
@@mtlnascarfan H2 + VR headset = $2000
Solid review. Well done.
Honest. Thank you.
Thank you for the review. You said everything what i needed to know
14:40 seconds in... looks like its smoking?? haha amazing rig! Buying!
Excellent cons, on point, excellent review overall , dof should cut u a deal

WoW... Great job..!! Nice review... Do you need one NO..!!! But, do I want one... HELL YES..!!!
Great video! Very instructive! Several years on simracing and now really decide to upgrade to the next level. Not yet decided between p3 or p6.
Where can i find the full video of the p6 that appears quickly in 2.14 ??
Thanks again! just discover my futur rig 👍
I was looking for a video like this on this, thanks it helped very much!!!!!
Excellent review. Answered all my questions.
What collective stick are you using? I'm having trouble finding one for my flight sim.
Thanks a lot for putting effort to make such a good review
Yaw in flying traction loss very important don’t skip it
Yeah your cons talked me right outta buying this rig! :)
same that lose wheel would drive me crazy
BigDawg Cleveland what cons was it that made you reconsider? Did you go a different route?
Super helpful overview and review. My wife is going to be so mad at me...
JjUST PULLED THE TRIGGER ON THE H3! I got the fans, shakers, motas mounts, and dampers
Thanks! Glad to do it! 80/20 aluminum (10 series), the only stupid question is the one not asked...
Great, thank you very much.
It would be great if you had the time to make a couple videos for us out there following your footsteps : )
One video about your rig customization structure.
Thanks again for your great videos, keep's coming : )
keep'em coming
I will try and get something posted in a week or 2
Really appreciate your time and effort, it is really helpful for us out there who are getting involved in motion rigs. I sincerely hope your channel will grow : )
Is it your impression that there are imprecise movements, bounsiness and rattling and the servomotors or rather the gearboxes have some serious backlash/play/slack?
This is awesome! Where did you get the Collective for the helicopter from?
The only thing you need is a star vr one and a rtx 3080 ti at the end of next year :)
So how has it held up over the years?
Great review!!
Man I want your H pattern shifter!! ♡♡♡ ;D
R-VR Closet Yes, what is that?
Nice sick setup, can't wait mine to get start.
awesome content am definately buying this next season
I love ur intro! 😁
Thanks for the video, I was wondering what happened to your Virpil Sticks? Was hoping to see them in this montage.
Can you do a video on them if you have the time.
Working on them as we speak...
@@everythingsimracing4798 so around 3000 buys the P3 and shipping....plus I will need a seat ...correct?
I would really love to hear some reviews on drifting in these simulators. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but as far as i can tell there's not really anyone filling that niche
just so you know on the front of your rig you have a safety strap encase you haven't realised there is supposed to be a bolt that goes into that from the underside. im not sure if this is only in the most recent versions but on mine there is a bolt that goes through the pivot at the front to pin them togeather and no need for a safety strap. might be worth checking yours again
What a thorough review, thanks for sharing!
How you like your purchase? How's the hardware any failure yet?
Can that wheel stand support a direct drive? It looks really thin and narrow.
They make an extra rigid support for those its an option tho
@Everything Sim Racing would buying the extra wheel support option reduce the creaking sound you mentioned in the cons section?
I really like your 8020 modifications!
would you be willing to do a video walking through those modifications and detail a parts list and where you sourced them (tnutz?)?
Gadddd dammm it !!!!! i am really trying not to touch the credit card. great video by the way. i have the pimax 5k and its amazing all by it self. once i get this i guess my social life is done loool. I play DCS, project cars 1 - 2, xplane 11, assetto corsa, prepar 3d
Thanks for the great video I'm looking just for this. Thanks for the link .
Great video fella :)
It's an awesome review! But maybe now it's time for an update for a long term use... That would be awesome x2!!!
@spaceweed10, also, it just a seat mover !! The wheel stand and pedals do not move with the seat :)
Nice vid love your set up, time to get some solar free energy
Great vid. I like the way you beefed up your rig. I have the same DOF H3. Did you use 20mm aluminum?
Great vide , just started thinking about motion lately. Looks like you have some transducers hooked up. A buttkicker and something else? How does that work in conjunction with the motion? I have a static rig , but Sim Hub with three transducers (one under pedals for front suspension, one under my rig platform for engine effects, and one on back of seat legs for rear suspension) Would it be possible (or necessary) for three transducers? Or is one for engine enough ?
Great video ! New subscriber 👍
I would like this kind of set up.
Cheers
Amazing review! Thanks!
Do you regret buying this over the h6/p6. You could always just upgrade but do you feel as though you are missing out.
