Thuma is a company all about thoughtful craftsmanship and creating sophisticated products for modern living. Although they do sell a mattress, clothing, and other accessories, their bed frame, named “The Bed,” is the piece of furniture that’s garnered the company the most attention.
It’s gained popularity for its sleek, high-quality platform design using Japanese joinery, along with the company’s promise for easy assembly. But is it the best bed frame for you? That’s what I hope to help answer in this review.

I think generally I have less back pain after sleeping on this for 8 months than I did when I had a Casper mattress - likely due to added firmness. It’s definitely noticeably less hot than the Casper too. I do think you can tell which side of the bed I sleep on since it is slightly compressed in that area which is maybe a tad concerning for long term and I will say that sitting in certain positions on it for too long is not the most comfortable since it is rather firm. That said, I’ll gladly take less back pain while sleeping over a comfy bed seat during the day time.
As for the frame… I LOVE the Thuma frame! It is HEAVY solid wood… I was probably stupid carrying the boxes up the stairs by myself since it is 100% a 2 person job. I like that it doesn’t creak or make any noise at all when moving around in bed because it fits together perfectly. I like the pillow board more than I thought but may still upgrade to the wood backboard in the future. It is definitely a frame that could last a lifetime. I like the natural wood color very much!
How heavy is the mattress?

People need to sleep on organic latex, all foam out gasses. Get latex pillows as you breath in all night what ever chemicals your pillow emits or doesn't emit if it's latex, wool, down. Latex does not sleep hot. Once you sleep on latex and have a wool cover on one side and cotton on the other so you can flip it, which is the life of your mattress, you will never want to sleep on any memory foam or any kind of out gassing mattress again as outgassing can cause numerous health issues such as allergies, coughing,watery eyes,,breathing problems.
Sleep is essential to having a healthy life.

@@jauntaeblakely8077 I like it so far, but I've only had one night's rest on it. However, it was the best sleep I've had in years, so that's saying something.
I find this review to be kind of weird because some of the ratings don’t make sense.
As someone who owns this mattress I can say some of the category ratings are completely off. For example, she rates edge support a 4/5 when this mattress has virtually no edge support at all. She also rated cooling 3.5/5 when the mattress actually has really good cooling. If pressure relief for back is 4/5, how can back sleeping be 5/5? Makes no sense.
The final and main point to make is that although this mattress is firm if you compare it to a pillow top, the mattress is still very soft, almost too soft for true back sleepers. Unless you weight 200+ pounds, I don’t see why you would rate side sleeping a 2/5 when this mattress would be ideal for side and light back sleepers.
She lost me at "certified sleep science coach". Out.
A queen is $1200. That's a hard no from me.
I recently bought a Thuma mattress and the mattress smelled like rubber months after, as of now they are telling me that I cannot get a refund. This product is obviously defective and off gassing. DISHONEST COMPANY!
