My dad took me to both days of this and I have to admit, this was the best experience of my life. I had wanted to see this band for a few years and it made my little 13 year old heart so happy. There were so many other bands there that I loved and that I am so stoked that I got to see and meet.I never thought I would be seeing any of the bands that I have grown up listening to. I am very happy to have had that experience with my father.
I was at all 3 nights of this Knotfest and it was absolutely epic I was able to get vip access to a backstage hangout area and tour of the stage, also stood on the side stage for Hatebreed and The Devil Wears Prada. I remember seeing V-man walking around backstage and thought that man his big and has some badass tattoos and then hours later he’s playing bass I was stoked. (No one knew officially who was going to be the 2 new members until this show began)
I was there! I thought it was great and loved how they brought the new guys in with such a heavy setlist. The whole band sounded tight and their energy was something else. You could tell the band was giving it their all because it was a big moment for them. I wish they'd release both days in pro quality but they probably never will.

The first two being in October 2001 on the Iowa tour and the next being in 2005 on the Subliminal Verses tour. I guess my interest had waned around AHIG. Honestly I had my own issues related to what Paul did. But then Paul died, then the band had to leave Joey behind because he couldn't get his act together, which I didn't understand at the time, I get it now, and considering he was the second biggest drumming influence in my life, and Slipknot turned into the second biggest band in my life after growing up on Metallica, when I heard they were coming out with a new album, had a new drummer and bass player, I was very anxious to see what was up after not really paying attention for years. I first heard the Devil and I, honestly wasn't really impressed. It's a good song, but I don't like it, still don't like it. So I heard the album and I wasn't exactly blown away. But then I went to see them at the Baltimore show, and they played Sarcastrophe, The Negative One and Custer live (and I guess the Devil and I), and hearing them live changed my whole perspective. It reinvigorated me. I saw them again 2015, 2016, then 2019, 2021, then just a couple months ago on the 25th anniversary here in 2024, again at the Baltimore arena. I always love this Knotfest though. At the time, an introduction to the first two new members of the band, reaching back playing songs they hadn't played in years over two nights, just f'in awesome. Sorry for the rant. Long live the knot!
