I really appreciated your live video comparison of the film simulations and their settings. It made seeing the differences easy and quick, something other reviewers did not do.
Evidently Something You're welcome. 😊 A man who makes his wife / girlfriend feel the way yours does (and vice versa) - vivacious, playful, gleaming with energy and positivity, uninhibited and a tad naughty maybe - in a charming, innocent way - more so in front of a camera, for a million folks to watch - is a man carved for her. You two radiate an uncanny compatibility - doesn't take a rocket scientist to discern. Lovely! Must add that the lens loves her, too - and she knows it. Many happy years together, My friend. Thank you for the video.
The single most informative discussion of video for the XT2 i've seen. I'm busy eating up everything I can find on this issue because it involves a whole new lens platform for me as well as a camera. Thanks for all the detailed analysis.
This is a good example of how a review should be made: real examples, contrasted settings to follow and see easily. congratulations on such a good work!
First video I've seen from you guys and I really like it. Personable, easy style and excellently more about the end results rather than a dreary listing of technical data that can be easily read rather than endured upon the ears. Very nicely shot with your cheery assistant too. Myself, I have an X-Pro2 and aside from a couple of nitpicks (diopter dial too easy to jolt in bag for one) I dearly love it, those colour profiles do have something magic about them. I hadn't used it for video yet, as I'm pretty much just a stills photographer. I did find the colour profile tips you provided very interesting though, and it seems that lowering sharpness is definitely a boon in video, as well as contrast. Funnily enough, my favourite profile for stills is Classic Chrome. My least favourite used to be provia for the old X-Trans sensors, but it's beginning to grow on me, and from your video I find it interesting that it is far more visually appealing in motion than my usual Classic Chrome go-to. I also dig the Pro-Neg profiles. So, yes, great video and to the point with a refreshing angle of approach. I'll be subscribing. Cheers!
Hi Peter, thanks for tuning in and thank you also for your kind words! We love the look Classic Chrome provides, too. It's probably one of the two or three profiles we use the most. For this video we kept the regular footage within the Provia profile since it is the closest and quickest way to natural color with the Fuji. We only had the chance once to use an X-Pro2 - for a couple of days - and loved it! Such a great camera! Were it not for our video topics we could easily use the X-Pro2 all day for all things photographic. A joy to use as pretty much everything from Fuji it seems. Good choice! Welcome to our little channel!
Great video. The XT2 is still a great camera in 2023, and I use it as my main back up photography camera, but actually it's still fine for video too. You guys must be the most beautiful couple on UA-cam.
The best review so far of the XT2 video capabilities. Exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I missed was a test of the internal audio quality and I'm not sure if it has a headphone jack. Thanks for your effort!
It also looks like you used two other things that improved the feeling of the video from the X-T2 that some here might want to know about. Please correct me if I am mistaken. 1.) A constant 1/50th shutter speed paired with 23.98 frames per decond or natural film-like motion. 2.) A neutral density filter to help you stay at 1/50th shutter speed.
indeed, both point are good ones to be added! Shutter speed throughout at 1/50th. Although it is easy with the X-T2 to overlook a slight deviation to 1/40th or 1/60th, which happened to us occasionally.
Thanks for the detailed review. Just got the camera and I couldn't figure out how to get continuous focus to work with video until now. I'm subscribing.
I have another question! Do you think the on camera microphone is good enough for vloging and travel documentaries? If not, are you able to use an external mic such as a rode?
I agree, even Canon overall has great sound recording, such as the Rebel T3i, a great choice for Full HD at a much larger than desirable data rate. Five minutes, you have 1 GB video file. Of course, that can't play smoothly on older computers that can playback 1080p MP4 just fine. T3i records in that old MPEG-2 or MOV format.
Thanks! Really great way of showing the profiles. Thanks for taking a lot of time to make it right. I've got a question about the occasional shift in light. Is it you adjusting the aperture while shooting? I've been thinking of using a variable ND filter rather than the steppy aperture rings. Is it hard to get the exposure right? Is there a live histogram?
Hey, thanks for watching and for your kind words. The light shifts are from the 18-55mm lens set to Auto-Aperture mode. The camera then auto-adjusts the steps according to light exposure. Which can be convenient in some situations but we would now tend to always use a fixed aperture setting since the hard shifts are quite apparent. One problem with the X-T2 is the lack of any histogram/waveforms. You have to judge exposure simply by looking at the LCD display or through the viewfinder, which can be tricky. Hopefully Fuji will introduce some kind of histogram via Firmware upgrades. Should be possible.
i miss my Fuji back. i think i am going to sell my sony 6300 soon :) Fuji has always amazed me with the quality of the photos and now the 4k is great also. Great review!
Images look amazing from this camera, a whole lot of video colorists will be changing careers because SOOC ungraded footage from the XT-2 looks so vibrant and beautiful. Fuji knocked it out of the park with this camera. Great job, thanks.
I've been using this camera non-stop for the past 2-3 weeks and I still found this review really informative. Nice work. I think next time you should note if it's a video or photo review in the title. I think a lot of people would find this review useful if they knew that you were comparing all of the film simulation modes with highlight / shadows / sharpness adjustments. Also you put 'velvia soft' instead of 'astia soft' in there somewhere. Anyways keep up the good work.
The production quality and editing of this channel is superb and this review is no different. Wonderful! I had a few questions regarding your B-roll shots. What lens were you using? Also, unless your arm is bionic, those car shots were extremely smooth and steady: Were you using a stabilizer or gimbal at all? And for the focusing, I would assume you were using the auto focus for a majority of the shots as well? Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you so much, this is the XT-2 'starters' guide I have been looking for. I can see me referring back to this video as I explore aspects like the Fuji colour modes. Cheers!
I just got a XT2 recently and I want to thank you for doing such a great job about the video of this camera. You have the best video about it on UA-cam. Thanks guys!
Such a nice review guys! 👌 I just have a doubt. I noticed your takes are very stabilized, unlike a lot of fuji videos test I found. Is it because of the 18-55 (which is stabilized) or because you used a glidecam or something similar? Thank you in advance and keep doing the good work ✌
hi there, nice video for us to learn more about x-t2. Would you mind introducing which was the tripod that was seen in this video? Seems very sturdy. Thank you!
really liked your review - it's the first 'daily' review that I see! congrats and keep up the good work! PS. Quick question: the lighting transition when in video mode was the aperture changing? did you set aperture to A? Thanks!
Thank you very much, Luciano! Appreciate it! The hard lighting transitions were indeed due to aperture changes when in A mode. Setting fixed apertures prevents those.
I've been waiting for this review. I loved the sneak peak you gave us last week. Please make more reviews!! Test different lens and maybe try out the G85. ;) What camera was used to show you at 13:37. Also for the joystick, I hope they make a passive selection mode that only locks on couple seconds after its moved or when you press the button in also make the selection speed faster to scroll through.
Glad you like it! The camera used at the 13:37 mark was the good old GH4. We'd like to test the new G85 very soon, too. It's seems to be a very nice camera, especially with IBIS, better low light performance than the GH4 etc. Stay tuned!
Ah, that's cool. What is/are your go-to cameras (for both of you individually) when you shoot (both photography and film)? I currently use Nikon D810 and Fujifilm X-Pro2. I love the way you guys work as a team (from what I can see in the videos), and the way you explain things, and of course, the cinematography!! :-) So keep it up! :-)
Thank you! Glad you like our videos! We are currently using the Fuji X-T2 a lot. Simply because of the nice colors and image quality. Other than that we like the new G85 and also sometimes use our dear trusted GH4, a true work horse :)
Hi ! My first Review that i see from u, very high quality and beautiful, about the Camera i got. Have it now two weeks and i love it. If u interested in this Camera u should buy the Booster Grip. Gives u 30 min of 4k instead of 10min. 11fps without 8. 2 Batterys more, headphonejack and u have a nice charger where u can charge the two Batteries in the Grip and so on..... Ive the Grip to 90 % on the Camera... and if u go to take some streetshots, 23 or 35 2.0 wr lens on it whitout the Grip and uve a very light, smal Street Cam. The "missing" Touch-Screen..... I would turn it of cause i hated it to set the Point with my nose =) So I like the Joystick much more workin mostly with the Evf. But this is a personal preference. I like ur beautiful Review very much but i would love it more, if u would use new Lenses and Firmware with a new Camera =) Nice Greetings. And i love to suscribe to yar Channel hope to see more beautiful Vids =)
Awesome video. Like that you showed the auto focus functionality. I found it to be lacking. Yes it acquires focus but its not accurate nor fast. It could be due to the lens
Thanks Tim! Regarding the auto focus it took us some time getting used to the different modes. Mostly it worked well and compared to the previous Fuji cameras we think it's a huge step forward. Not on par with Canon's Dual Pixel AF probably. Also it's going to be exciting to see the Olympus E-M1 Mark 2 coming out soon. What lens are you using?
How do you think it compares to the Sony a6500? The colour range on this camera looks very impressive. And with what camera is the overall video filmed by the way? The XT2 as well? Because this is one beautifully looking video. Can't wait to see new videos appear. Definitely going to stay subscribed!
a6500 is much better for video work. It focuses quickly and autofocus is very mature. X-T2, I ran into important issues. Must set to Continuous, and there is a flickering problem. It is the electronic shutter with a malady. Don't know if a firmware update can fix this. Most likely an issue that should be gone in the X-T3. You can tell that the video is not sharp because Single is erratic at times. Luckily, the X-T2 has no overheating problem that the Sony is infamous for.
Yeah, I see that there is blurriness. Had this problem using it yesterday to find that the X-T2 must be set to C (Continuous) Autofocus, then the results will be sharp (clear). S (Single) seems to behave like M (Manual) Focus, as autofocus in that mode does not work for video, and even occasionally when set to shoot stills. I would assume a defect or firmware problem. Alas, there is a flickering problem that is recorded in the video, but is more frequently seen on the screen while recording. This is a potential issue that a future firmware upgrade may correct. Yes, Fujifilm is behind in its video capabilities compared to the likes of some competitors (such as there is no match for the Panasonic GH5), but for stills, the image quality at most ISO yields very good-outstanding results if the settings are correct for photography. The 18-55 mm kit lens is fabulous, both for its quality-value rating (I give it 5 out of 5). Low light performance, a good bit behind the Nikon D500 (because it is a sports camera though slightly more expensive body only), but the X-T2 is probably best labeled as enthusiast/street camera, capable of some of the best photo quality up to ISO 3200 in low light (ISO 6400 in good light is very good), and built/looks like a professional product. If you are looking for the best in video recording, I would go with Panasonic; even the GH4 is pretty awesome, but it does not have phase detection, which I don't think seems to work (poorly implemented or isn't supported) during video recording on the X-T2. There aren't any videos I could find on UA-cam addressing the flickering issue during video recording on the X-T2, so it may be a known issue due to the nature of the image processor, I don't know. Again, hopefully a future firmware update could fix the problem. Current version is 2.0. That's my experience. Good luck.
I really appreciated your live video comparison of the film simulations and their settings. It made seeing the differences easy and quick, something other reviewers did not do.
Thanks Sam!
One of the best reviews i have ever seen about any camera ! And i watch at least one every day :)
Hey, thank you for your kind words! : )
You two are just made for one another. Not just a couple, but also best friends. What a chemistry! A pleasure to watch. My compliments!
Thank you very much!! :)

Ten seconds in and you can already have a like! Awesome work.
Outstanding review! Awesome job! Please keep the videos coming!
will do! Thanks Joseph!
This is not a review. This is a piece of art.
Great job and much love from Aachen, Germany :)

I just purchased the camera last week. Your video presentation was very informative for me. Thank you so much. 😊
One of the best reviews, if not the best review I've ever seen about this camera.
Beautiful video you two. Just so fun and pleasant to watch and helpful. Thank you
Thanks Hugo!!
Great Review! Very Satisfying to watch. Just Subscribed - Keep them coming.
Great review about the video feature in fujifilm x-t2. Hope to see more stuff from you guys!
you one of the best looking footages of Xt2 in the entire youtube. once the quarantine is over. please would love to see your more of your videos.
thanks for watching!
Great video. The XT2 is still a great camera in 2023, and I use it as my main back up photography camera, but actually it's still fine for video too. You guys must be the most beautiful couple on UA-cam.

Thank you not only for a good looking review, but a clear explanation and solution for the jello lens bug. This is very good news. Great model too.
Glad we could help out! Thanks Christopher!

Amazing review. I already own the camera and enjoyed watching it. Great production values, music, quality, everything!
Appreciate it, Bryan!
Intelligent,,,,Professional,,,,Very Nicely Done,,,,and the new Firmware Updates should make the XT2 even better !!!
I'm really enjoying your channel! I like the playful, laid back feel to your videos. Unlike all the other gear head, pixel peeper types.
Lovely video, and a great review of the XT-2. Nice to see the beautiful images of my hometown of Hamburg.
You just showed me what I wanted to know about this camera. Thanks. Very good review!
Very informative! I was looking for Fuji XT2 video tests and your video helps a lot! Thanks.
Your videos are so great !! You made me bought a XT-2 ! Hope you will do more XT-2 videos it seems to be a really good camera !
Thanks for the detailed review. Just got the camera and I couldn't figure out how to get continuous focus to work with video until now. I'm subscribing.
Excellent, glad we could be of help for you, Ken! Have fun with your new camera! It's a wonderful one!
Great reviews and helpful advice. I just purchased a 23mm f2 for my xt20 based on your recommendation. It's a great lens. More please.
Simply lovely to watch. A well put together review to really show off the video capabilities of the camera. Thank you!!
Thank you very much, enjoy our channel!
Very very very nice video. I really like the concept.
perfect couple.. loved watching the video...
its so beautifully taken.. its also fun, especially the jittering dance you two did...
Best review done by anyone yet. Great samples coverages.
Thanks for the great review guys!! the colors from the xt2 look spectacular!
Thank you!
Great video! Liked everything - samples, montage, hosts and xt2 of course))
Your videos are so informative and chill. I like
Glad to hear that, Jay!
Love the bee in the hair shot at 6:18min
Thanks for making an excellent review of the X-T2 video performance. I've been looking for something like this for weeks.
You're welcome Micah! Thanks for tuning in!
Any chance you'll be reviewing the Fuji iPhone app integration with the X-T2? Nobody's done that yet.
thanks for taking away all my doubts about this camera and its video features! just made my preorder :]
You are welcome! Have fun with your great new camera!
I have another question! Do you think the on camera microphone is good enough for vloging and travel documentaries? If not, are you able to use an external mic such as a rode?
The internal microphone is certainly better than in most other comparable cameras! You can use an external one like the Rode.
This review convinced me to go for this camera :) Thanks!
Very nice and detailed review. Top!
Thank you John, appreciate it!
A very thoughtful and informative review. Thank you.
great review, finally someone with a cinematic eye, thanks 👍🏼
Excellent and detailed review 👍. Looking forward to the next ones. Keep up the good work!
You guys always produce the most thoughtful, elegant and wonderfully warm reviews. Great work!
Thank you, Larry!
like your videos... looking forward more review and some photography and cinematography lessons...
Great review, straight to the important points and very good examples. Thank you
Great video presentation. Do more XT2 videos!
Wow thats my first comment ever for a YT video but you two did a really great job with this Review! I hope we see more coming:)
Best review! Hope to see XT 3 soon
i miss my Fuji back. i think i am going to sell my sony 6300 soon :) Fuji has always amazed me with the quality of the photos and now the 4k is great also. Great review!
Beautifully done review!
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
Images look amazing from this camera, a whole lot of video colorists will be changing careers because SOOC ungraded footage from the XT-2 looks so vibrant and beautiful. Fuji knocked it out of the park with this camera. Great job, thanks.
Thanks for shooting a lot of this in real-time. I hate slow-mo test footage, because how often do you actually use slow-mo in work?
amazing work
Good review!! Keep it up guys!
I've been using this camera non-stop for the past 2-3 weeks and I still found this review really informative. Nice work. I think next time you should note if it's a video or photo review in the title. Also you put 'velvia soft' instead of 'astia soft' in there somewhere. Anyways keep up the good work.
Excellent, thanks James! We're going to keep an eye on that.
Excellent video & fun too!
Excellent. I would like to have seen Astia. The color is so good that I am willing to work around the lack of a touch screen and no IBIS.
Cool video, music and editing! Did you use any gimbal for the handheld shots?
I like your reviewing style. Keep it up
Best review and how it should be done
The production quality and editing of this channel is superb and this review is no different. Wonderful! I had a few questions regarding your B-roll shots. What lens were you using? Also, unless your arm is bionic, those car shots were extremely smooth and steady: Were you using a stabilizer or gimbal at all? And for the focusing, I would assume you were using the auto focus for a majority of the shots as well? Keep up the fantastic work!
Nice review - great music too!
Great review! And you even used the two lenses I got with my X-T2, the 23 1.4 and 18-55 "kit". :)
Just awesome review, I wonder which gimbal/stabiliser do you use?
Thank you so much, this is the XT-2 'starters' guide I have been looking for. I can see me referring back to this video as I explore aspects like the Fuji colour modes. Cheers!
Thanks Stephen - wishing you great fun with the X-T2!
Great review, original. Well done
I love your content please PLEASE keep making content.
real life got in the middle of the new videos unfortunately. but we'll have new ones coming in the next few days.
I just got a XT2 recently and I want to thank you for doing such a great job about the video of this camera. You have the best video about it on UA-cam. Thanks guys!
amazing video and clearly explained review...
Thx Keifer!
Great review guys.
Such a nice review guys! 👌 I just have a doubt. I noticed your takes are very stabilized, unlike a lot of fuji videos test I found. Is it because of the 18-55 (which is stabilized) or because you used a glidecam or something similar?
Thank you in advance and keep doing the good work ✌
How was the video stabilized? great vid.
Great video! Estoy disfrutando mi fuji xt2 en 2020. Esta fantástica
Amazing job guys! An excellent review indeed. Keep em coming.
Definitely, thank you!
very nice detailed review
super high quality review video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aesthetic
Good review sir.
Please, what's your shutter speed on the video? And was it shot in 4k?
hi there, nice video for us to learn more about x-t2. Would you mind introducing which was the tripod that was seen in this video? Seems very sturdy. Thank you!
Toll! Superb review. I will follow you with interest. Thank you.
awesome and informative, thanks!
She is so beautiful.
really liked your review - it's the first 'daily' review that I see! congrats and keep up the good work!
Glad you like it! The camera used at the 13:37 mark was the good old GH4. We'd like to test the new G85 very soon, too. It's seems to be a very nice camera, especially with IBIS, better low light performance than the GH4 etc. Stay tuned!
Really nicely done! Very good angle and cinematography! Will you be doing a review on the X-PRO2 anytime soon? :-) Cheers from Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks Maya, currently we're testing the Panasonic G85. Also eagerly awaiting the new GH5.
Other than that we like the new G85 and also sometimes use our dear trusted GH4, a true work horse :)
such a fun review
Hi !
My first Review that i see from u, very high quality and beautiful, about the Camera i got. Have it now two weeks and i love it.
If u interested in this Camera u should buy the Booster Grip.
Gives u 30 min of 4k instead of 10min. 11fps without 8.

I like ur beautiful Review very much but i would love it more, if u would use new Lenses and Firmware with a new Camera =)
Nice Greetings.
And i love to suscribe to yar Channel hope to see more beautiful Vids =)
Subscribed! Quality video!
Great review! Subscribed
Great review
Please do a comparison of the X-T2 & X-T20.
Nicely done review. Keep it up :-)
Awesome video.
Did you use any gimbal for your handheld footages? Or are they straight from XF18-55 with OIS on? Your footages look very smooth
I would love to know too.
Great video - Thank you! Why do you expect to get a slow cinematic focus change using autofocus?
How do you think it compares to the Sony a6500? The colour range on this camera looks very impressive. And with what camera is the overall video filmed by the way? The XT2 as well? Because this is one beautifully looking video.
Can't wait to see new videos appear. Definitely going to stay subscribed!
a6500 is much better for video work. It focuses quickly and autofocus is very mature. X-T2, I ran into important issues. Must set to Continuous, and there is a flickering problem. Really cool video. Can i show us some magic from xpro2? It will amazing
Good luck.
