Music: Ice Tea
Musician: Not The King
Thank you for watching the video everyone. This was in my early years of filming for UA-cam so appreciate that the music is slightly too loud and repetitive.
No music on my future videos and a lot more clear 👊🏼
Sir, what product did you use (1:10)?
Very informative, great fotoage. Really enjoyed the music. Thank you.
Thank you very much 👍🏼
Thanks. My CLK 430 appreciates it
Good morning. What was the name of the cleaner you used for the top & where can I get it from
He says in the video he uses Bilt Hamber Surfex HD diluted 1 part chemical to 9 parts water - you can get it from most suppliers as Bilt Hamber is a very popular brand, depends what country you are in
@@3091mg thank you for replying 🙏
Music is so annoying I had to go, sorry
Thanks for that, amazing job on that car. Gonna do the roof on mine. How you get the wheels that good?
No problem 👍🏼
Wheels - Iron remover, rinse, snowfoam, agitate with brushes and mitts - Voila 👍🏼
Have a look at any of my other videos. I go through all the steps
What is the name of the chemical product you used?
Bilt Hamber Surfex 👍🏼
THANKS! I thought you'd said "Bill Humper's cervix" .....couldn't find it anywhere!
Brilliant videos bud . Could I ask what brush you use again please
It’s a Vikan nail brush 👍🏼
@@HarpersCarDetailing much appreciated sir thank you . Great videos by the way
How do you stop the fabric going fluffy when you use a scrubbing brush?
I heard you should not use a pressure washer as it will damage and leave marks
It definitely can leave marks if you put it too close to the fabric.
I use it at a distance where it’s safe to put your hand in front of it, so essentially use it for rinsing rather than the pressure of the water
hello brother
I have a Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 2014
Examination type Black tarpaulin, and with washing and time, some of the linoleum material was gone, and the examination became stained. It was not cleaned with washing, whether with water or soap. I asked and wrote to many modern car wash places. Nobody knows. Ordinary washing, and there are no special materials for the canvas of the cars, or the linoleum for the cars, knowing that the texture of the car is of the excellent, strong type, and it is not considered a fabric. I do not know the type of strong fabric
Dear, do you have an idea for this place?
Thank you
Greetings: Abdullah from the State of Kuwait
didn't catch the name of the cleaner? is it available to buy to the public?
Bilt Hamber Surfex 👍🏼yes absolutely
I wonder what a power brush would be like on these
They might be a little too aggressive
I have a convertible as well, & it’s turning Grey, looks like it’s fading
Will cleaning it help restore my color? Or should I use dye?
I would thoroughly clean it and if it has faded then retreat it 👍🏼
Would advise to never use a stiff brush...use the softest brush you can find and your top will last forever.
It’s not too stiff, so safe to use and doesn’t change the texture of the material.
Sometimes when the fabric is really mouldy you need a bit more pressure/firmness
Beautiful
Beautiful car 🤩
What's the name of the spray?
Bilt Hamber Surfex, I mention it in the video
You say it to fast mate and the music makes it hard to hear what you say. Thanks though.
@@jarhead8682agree, if you don’t know the product it’s impossible to understand
Sir, would you advice to use a water repellent afther cleaning?
It’s certainly a good idea.
Either brush it on or use a sponge to apply.
You can spray it on through bottle but unless you cover all exposed panels with a plastic sheet you will get over spray.
Thoroughly clean and let the roof dry beforehand
@@HarpersCarDetailing Thanks!
What about a dive through car wash for the Porsche
I highly doubt the convertible would be cleaned.
Also you run. The risk of them using harsh cheap chemicals and damaging the paintwork and fabric
Any tips for a cloth roof like on the Fiat 500c?
I would follow this process 👍🏼
Sir, what was the product you used (1:10)?
Bilt Hamber Surfex 👍🏼
Do you wait till next day to do rest of car
No need. I did the rest straight after
@@HarpersCarDetailing much appreciated sir top man 👌👌
Is it OK to go through a brushless car wash with a Mini Cooper convertible?
I’m honestly not sure. Might be work giving them a call and asking 👍🏼
@@HarpersCarDetailing
I did call them today before I left my comment...they said yes it's no problem but after some consideration I'm thinking it might not be the best idea. I could just picture those hanging things floping back-and-forth on the roof of my soft top... But others as well have said it's OK. Maybe in the future but not at this time. And thank you for the response.
What soap is he using?
Bilt Hamber Surfex 👍🏼
Any protector?
Not in this case. This was just more of a deep clean.
Fabsil is a fantastic product to protect. I usually paint it on with a brush.
I would advise not to add music to instructional videos. Can’t hear a thing your saying!!!!’
Someone else has already commented this 👍🏼
I didn’t realise how loud the music was, as at the time didn’t have any fancy editing software
Pressure washer on a soft top? Hello no dude. I have an 06 mx5...never would i dream of using a pressure washer let one direct hosefire on the softop.
Water will get pushed past the seals 100%. Just use the shower setting on your hose head.
Providing that jet wash is far enough away it’s fine.
The stream of water is just to rinse the chemical away. I’m not relying on the pressure.
I would happily put my hand in front of the jet at the distance I used it, so that’s a good rule of thumb
@@HarpersCarDetailing sweet glad you're cautious about it
You’re “music” is way too loud
Damn annoying as well. Music, the curse of You Tube
I couldn't hear a thing you said from that loud music.
I’ve just listened to it through headphones and can hear myself. Did you have the volume up quite high?
You one of them dudes that gots to find something to complain about ain’t you
It’s fine, I can here perfectly well
I, too, can hear him very clearly. I can even hear the scrubbing of the top.
I can’t hear him very well either. The music to voice ratio is off and is sorta distracting to me. I wish the music was a tad quieter. Great video tho 😊
Using a pressure washer damages the top
*Can
That roof is not even dirty
Try a roof with algea
I’m afraid I can’t determine how dirty a car is before I arrive
A 1:10 dilution ratio does not mean 1 part chemical and 9 parts water. It literally means 1 part to 10 parts all equal amounts. That’s why it’s 1:10 not 1:9.
You were correct the first time.
Well certainly in the UK it would be 1 part product topped up with 9 parts chemical so 50ml:450ml if calculating 500ml
@@HarpersCarDetailing I took chemistry and had to calculate dilution ratios regularly and 1:10 means one unit volume of solute to be diluted to 10 unit volumes of the solvent to give 11 total units of volume.
Here is a simple overview to help break it down for you. I hope this helps.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilution_ratio#:~:text=In%20chemistry%20and%20biology%2C%20the,it%20with%20another%20liquid%20substance.
It depends where you are looking though and which source you use.
This one for example suggests the way I use it.
Again, it might be a demographic difference

You come off as a know-it-all@@_GandalfTheGrey_ - do better.
Stiff bristle brush also damages the top. Don't follow these procedures
This particular brush is safe.
I haven’t damaged a top in my whole career using this technique, and I know multiple others that use it too to great effect
Why do British car videos all have this ridiculously annoying trippy music??! Even the dealerships do it in their used car ads…unwatchable.
Tell me how you really feel
Wild guess but was that on a porsche? Haha
718 Cayman 👍🏼 good guess
cant understand what the heck you said you spry on the car. and the subtitles say built humber cervix, but I know thats not it.. okay then next video, since I cant understand the dude in this one over the music and acccent.
Bilt Hamber Surfex 👍🏼👍🏼
ditch the music
I have on all my future videos
I like the music, keep it lol
NEVER ! use a pressure washer.
Why?
Could tear the material or wear it down
If you hold it extremely close so possibly could but not the distance I was. I would happily put my hand in front the the stream of water at any time in this video
@@HarpersCarDetailing you’re right against the top in a lot of the vid and if you’d put your hand in front right against it I guarantee it’ll hurt and take skin unless your pressure wash is weak 😂😂
@@cobygreenwood1015 it’s not weak it just has a 45 degrees angled tip in this video, thus taking away the majority of pressure.
Roof was mint before it waa cleaned 🤷🏻♂️
Still give you and idea on ‘How to Clean A Convertible Roof’ 👍🏼
