I think Guild is still highly underrated even after all these years. Their American made guitars are right there with Martin, Taylor, and Gibson no question.
Guild... I had not considered one, until now! Very impressive guitar demonstrated by a very impressive guitarist. The spruce model, no doubt, has its place. However, I prefer the mellow tone of all mahogany.
Hi guys. Thanks for your great videos! They're very watchable and informative! How would you (or any of your viewers) compare the Taylor AD22e with the Guild M-25e? Many thanks!
Is the M-25 more of an all around player vs. the M-20 a “bluesy” guitar? I played both an M-20 and M-25. The M-20 was more bluesy… bass notes were much more prominent. The M-25 was a more balanced all around guitar. Not sure if this is typical of the two instruments or not. THe M-25 is described as being an upgrade version (I thought mainly in terms of binding, etc vs. quality of guitar) so I would have thought they would play very similarly.
I have this little Guild and it's my favourite acoustic, above my Martins and Gibsons. Very sim specs to the all-hog Martin 0-15m (Westside Custom UK Ltd edition) which I had for a while. Both have wide string spacing at bridge and nut compared with the standard Martin 15 series guitars. I found this Guild so much better and more versatile than the 0-15m Martin so I moved the latter on. It is a bit 'boxy' if you are too hard with it - but that's not the point of a small guitar. Played respectfully, it's mellow, pretty and sweet sounding with a tight bass response. It produces strong fundamental notes and not much in the way of overtones which I like in a guitar. (Not a big fan of the CEO-7 mentioned in the video, for this reason, as you get a whole orchestra of overtones with that!). The Guild is really comfortable to play as well, with a Goldilocks C-shaped neck profile.
Had I found this 😂well I got 3 Guilds a ThinLine rosewood(ca 70)a Dreadnaught D20 all hog CA made y a Concert body all hog …😅 ythe rest areMartins (GPC ,OM 28 a dread)y classical guitars y ukuleles(Martin y etc)

Spruce for the loud brash show-offs and Mahogany for the romantic troubadour 🥰
Mellow sounding guitars are my favorites!
Wonderful playing at the end there. Lovely.
Quintons been to the Crossroads 👏🏻
Sounds like Guild’s answer to the Waterloo guitars by Collings. That boxy blues sound reminiscent of the 1930 s.
Love that size!
I have the M-25 and the M-40 both excellent
That's a beautiful guitar
Great guitar
that guitar wants you to play Landslide and Talk To Me of Mendocino. I love the tone of this Guild.

The M-25 I just purchased is even more of a beauty than it looks in the videos/online.
I have a mid 70sGuild D25m flat back . Only made for a few years . Beautiful shape and incredible sound .

Have you folks been to the Hoboken NJ facility? You're probably too young.

The sound is a bit more quiet and mellow than the Spruce top. I find I prefer the articulation and dynamic range of a Spruce soundboard.
Nice, but look at the Auden Emily Rose Tobacco Burst ✅.

Definitely not a OGDE, great sound nevertheless. We do manage (rarely!) to get some things right in Calif.
This guitar is a new model which is quite unlike what this guy said. It's an update of the classic Guild M-20.
Played one in a shop today ,seemed to me much better sounding than this video ,I want it.
