Switching to flatwound strings is another awesome (and simple) way to get a thumpy and darker sound. Also, I can't help but point out that you look _a lot_ like Victoria Pedretti. 💛🙂
I wanted a new American made guitar and this was at the top of my list. Its been 30 years since my 86 Washburn purchase.I saw it on a "GuitarZerotoHero" video and he talked about the California based designer. My neighbor happened to have one along with the three other American standards. Felt and sounded great, with an awesome price point. The "made in China" sticker in the sound hole made me utter an expletive. Great guitar if this is not a deal breaker for you. It actually felt better than my neighbors Gibson, Taylor and Martin. He feels the same.
A lot of critics here that don’t like this guitar. I’ve played them just a bit and think they have their good points. I don’t imagine many people would have one as their only guitar. It’s a kind of a special use instrument, for certain songs and playing style. It doesn’t ring out, so you wouldn’t use it for big sound strumming. When I tried one, I found I went straight to finger style, playing single notes, etc. I could imagine using it in a band for comping, etc. It’s not the same as just going to flat wound or dead-sounding strings. It’s its own thing.
I'm unimpressed, it sounds muted as you said. You can get this sound with flatwounds in any guitar, not a new thing. Clarity is very important in an acoustic guitar, IMO.
I have this guitar in my collection as well as another I modded myself. It really is best suited for picking not strumming. It is also great when you combine the electric input with a mic input and pass them through a nice reverb.
Wish you had of made this vid sooner! Had no idea that guitar existed and I totally would of bought one instead of the takamine I just ordered. 😅 Hope you enjoy playing it
Thanks for sharing this beautiful tribute to Gypsy jazz! I will now have to check out the names you’ve mentioned, the power of music lies within us all 😌💕
That's the sound all the cool kids are going for. Muted and thumpy is in - which is ironic since guitar luthiers have been trying for a couple centuries to make guitars with _more_ clarity and sustain.
that pickup is a hot rail, it's basically a humbucker the size of a single coil, it really pairs well with the warmer sounds of a rubber bridge.
sweet i like that
Its a wonderful guitar for the chill vibes. Also has a genuinely rustic charming sound. Can't wait hear some recordings with her and your voice!
Yay same 😁 can’t wait to record w this beauty 🩵thank you for the support

That guitar sounds sick! Can't wait to hear what you record with it. Subscribed.

Such a charming sound, I love it!
What a beautiful guitar. I love the nice warm tone and of course your beautiful playing.
Thank you kindly : )
@mollymcphaul You're most welcome!
Great video! I found myself chuckling several times :) also, very informative about rubber bridges!
Ayo!! Glad it was helpful 😌
Had this on my homepage, and it's very nice! I've always enjoyed the sound of rubber bridge guitars, but never drowned one.
Also enjoy your editing!!
Yay thank you for stoppin by. Glad you like it! :)
I wonder if you can replace the rubber bridge with a more standard bone one in case you grow tired of a muted sound.
looks vintage-y. Definitely more for fingerstyle
Nice but you should try the Gretsch Jim Dandy. Same parlor size and looks but a much better tone by far.
It’s interesting not just more of the same . Think if you you want a stripped back raw , folksy vibe it’s very , very cool.

Orangewood also has guitars that are made in Indonesia. 😎
Reminds me of a nylon guitar. They sound really cool
Love the sound/ feel of nylon
great storytelling in the video!
Thanks so much! glad you enjoyed :)

When that some comes on the TV and they have dogs they always freak out barking and run to the door. lol
re rubber bridge: you can weave rubberbands through the strings and push all that to the bridge.
Really beautiful guitar
It really is!
So damn coo
❄️
Love the sound! I feel like there should be some chicken pickin on that guitar 😂 thanks for the vid!
Muy bonita, que la disfrutes !!
Rubber bridge ? And no break angle on the strings .its like one of those £20 catalogue guitars you could get in the seventies
que copada tu guitarra muy buena. te felicito 😍
Gracias mi amigo🧡
@mollymcphaul ❤️ de nada. Siempre la mejor corazón 😘

has a casual eames chair
my mama's dream chair!! she finally got it last year after dreamin about one for decades
Probably good for percussive stuff, but too dead for my liking. A shorter scale folk guitar already has faster decay and is punchy enough for me.
I honestly think it sounds terrible. Sorry to sound mean. Not talking about you your self, just the instrument. Maybe I just don't understand it.
That guitar sounds like a wet box!
Orangewood guitars are very well marketed crappy guitars.
impedance on my rubber bridge until I attenuate
You sound harmonically distorted
Yo smile
Bone bridges exist.
The rubber bridge almost makes it sound like nylon strings! Also the look is stunning!
It does! And it really is a gorgeous piece of equipment
It might work well in the mix.....and give the voice a clear launch pad but .....hmmmmm
lol that pup is too much.
She the best 🙂↔️
what da dog doin
❕❕❕
dull, dampened!
Sounds like old rusty stretched out muted flatwound strings XD

yeah really
@@bveracka It's pretty pathetic .. oops .. I mean ironic :D
@@BAK87 Well...like all trends, it will die out soon, and the only thing worse will be whatever comes next (lol).
@@bveracka I couldn't have said it better ;)
I think you got ripped off if I’m being honest. There’s a million way to mute strings on a guitar. Maybe you’re just trying to get a video out.
you are dampining all the frequencies Rubber bridges are pure crap
What’s the frequency, Kenneth?
Looks cool but sounds awful. It would sound so sweet with a normal bridge
It sounds dead
:(
Sounds like a toy plastic guitar from walmart
you lost me when you played Ed Sheeran.
do your legs not work like they used to before?
