Great review, detailed as always. The only problem I've got with this watch is the size, I don't mind a 40mm watch but for an OP homage 36-38 ish is the sweet spot IMO, other than that I'd say it's a pretty good watch for the price.

These Pagani watches are great value, I have had a hunk for the past two years, never amended the time once. the finish is excellent, the bracelet is good quality. All in all for the price it can't be beaten.
I asked Pagani if it was possible to order it with the jubilee bracelet and they replied no problem! I think it would look great in that configuration since the case is all polished. Too bad for the long lug to lug and case shape, it was close to a perfect DJ/OP hommage.. Thanks for the review, great job!

For the same money, the Vostok gives you many interesting choices; 24hr dial, GMT complication, many colors, bezels. And a unique "in house" movement.
Exactly my thougts. I would not pay for any of chinese brands more than 80-100, not woth the money, for the same you can find vostoks, even seikos and many of respectable brands.
@@marlboro9tibike depends what you want I guess. You don't get much for $150 with Seiko and Vostok when it comes to specs. I've had vostoks and seikos in that range, I like them, but I want specs in this range....I can't handle another mineral crystal.
At an actual size of 38 mm would be perfect, be it as it may. This watch is very good looking. Love that they made the dial champagne coloured rather than stark silver. The low case profile of 11.5 is very good for an NH35 powered watch. To be a real contender this watch would need to a no date. The symmetry is what I actually love about the OP. The rough finishing between the lugs and the unusable sweaty day extension kill the deal for me, I've already seen better watches from Pagani Design. Nice review of a fairly new watch!
It's a great watch for sure....I'm still not seeing any alignment issues, though. But the clasp is a botch, I'm just guessing I got a dud. I e had 3 or 4 of the same clasp and this the the only one I had issues with.
Hey Alex, yes mate I've got to agree there are definite alignment issues at the 10,11 and 5 o'clock markers that I can see from just a quick glance. I think maybe it's a misprinted minute track rather than misaligned indexes that throw the eye out.

I find the finish mis-match between the all polished case and brushed bracelet to be weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's how Rolex does it but that doesn't make it "right," and just looks off and un-refined. Looks like an excellent watch for less than $100.
The current Rolex OP has brushing on the top of the case, and a polished bezel, so yeah it would be great if Pagani could match that. And to be fair Pagani seem to update their watches in response to feedback, so maybe that will happen... I might be able to save a few quid buying this watch in the sale but I'm going to hold off on buying one of these until they do that, and/or remove that odd 'P.e Time' text from the dial. I don't know what you're talking about. That was the BEST unboxing video ever! Do you think Pagani Design is playing the long game on re-branding itself to "PT Time" (or whatever is written above the word AUTOMATIC on the dial)? I don't know why the would put that on the dial.
It's actually P.t Time (lower case t). I think it serves the function of a model name (like Oyster Perpetual). Which doesn't make any sense since they already used it on other watches. Hey, how did you manage to remove the original bracelet to change them out? I've tried loads but it wont budge. Bought a pin removal tool and it seems to big to fit into the slot
Great review...can you tell me where I could find the "B' style rubber strap you modeled? It really looked great on the watch. I liked the looks of it and the way it fit the curve of the watch (and I couldn't tell... did it have a hidden enclosure clasp?
Thanks for the review. Bought it using your link, hope it works. I think even with the longer lug to lug, it suits your 7.5in wrist perfectly, though maybe not so well for smaller wrists. Pagani should have put in more meaningful text instead of weird 'Pe/PT Time'.. I hope my watch won't have those clasp issues.
Next big sale is 11.11. this should be nicely discounted. They also got new colors, with no-date dials, and brushed tops to the case. Hope to have a new model for review before 11.11 👍
@@Shri_V I was able to try out a few of their straps when they sent the 1918 trench watch for review. I liked the straps so much I bought one....very expensive but I really wanted that sharp taper, and no ody else seems to do that drastic of a taper.

Really good review, I dont want to upset you, BUT in NO way they use BGW9 . Its the same they use on their other watches. If they would use it, it would stand alot more in the dark. I see it s not the dark blue, but still no bgw9. The lume is the issue at Pagani. I cant understand why they dont use it. With about 10$ or € more for a watch it could be done.
It's all about the layers.....they could just be using less layers of BG lume and get worse results than San martin.....but in the end, neither of us really know what they use, but it's the same color as my San Martin lume and much better than their old blue lume.
Great review thank you for getting it out in time for the sale. Lots to like about this watch. My main beef with op homages is the size of the bezel, which is too big here too. That idiotic P.e Time ??? The date window shocked me but meh.. I'd live with that. The measurement inaccuracies really annoy me too. I've asked most sellers and they seem very reluctant to give you actual measurements. It's freakish.. and leads me to mistrust the company. Shame.
I think I saw they were going to start doing that. Their new watch that's similar to this one (Mercedes hands, submariner indices) has the top of the lugs brushed and it looks much better. Pretty sure it's the same case with a different bezel plopped on top. So keep an eye out for an updated case.
it's definitly there. I've seen and handled enough watches to notice when it's there an not. I can also catch a glimpse of blue hue when the sun hits just right which indicates it's using the same (or similar) AR that San Martin uses.
Apart from the incorrect dimensions, the fact that there's a damn date window on the dial genuinely angers me... Like why not just offer a no date option? It would be a lot simpler to manufacture, would offer more possibilities for movement options, and would please a vast majority of collectors who would otherwise not bother purchasing it.
I'm mostly with you on that, but just to play Devil's advocate, I'm guessing 1) They have a huge parts bin containing date NH35 movements 2) If they use a date NH35 with no date window, then we'd probably complain about the ghost crown position ;) 3) It gives the design a tiny bit more distance away from being a pure Rolex copy 4) Marketers can claim they've "added value" :D As for the incorrect dimensions, this watch pretty closely matches the Rolex 41 OP's 39.5mm actual size. Yeah 38mm would be perfect, but there's maybe a bit of method in that particular madness.
your video leaves me a little worried, could it be that the box is not made of stainless steel? Could it be that it is a metal alloy and that is why the watch is so inexpensive?
no. rest assured, it is Stainless Steel. there are plenty of $50 stainless steel watches out there, this is inexpensive, but there are plenty of other cheaper Steel watches out there.
Now that I've had it for a while, if I sit down and state at it, yes, it appears some (not all) are misaligned. But it's one of those mind trick things. Maybe on a different colored dial it would be more pronounced. But the silver dial, and polished indices, makes it hard to see.
Although Pagani Design have been using the NH35A movement for just about all their models, which is a very reliable movement, I wish they would also use the PT5000 or the SW200-1 in some of their models. A bit of variety wouldn't go amiss. JANBOY. RN. Rtd.
Lug to lug is too long for the case, and it's the wrong type of clasp for the watch.. Petty they didn't do more with the sides. What the hell is "pe time"? It's almost a very good watch. That said, great VFM
Second hand was my fault. Must have touched it when I dropped the movement to take a dial measurement. 🤦. My early pics show it was clean before this review
Damn it I just ordered this a few days ago and I wish I watched this first. I was excited for a 38mm watch that’s unacceptable really to put blatantly false info in all the descriptions I’ve read of this watch
PD and the Chinese in general are churning out pieces in the decent affordable segment taking place where Seiko in general used to be. You can't count on Seiko nowadays as they move to higher price bracket leaving the affordable ones under the banner of ugly Seiko 5 rebrand.
One day Pagani Design will have Co axial, Tourbillion, 7 day power reserve - all in-house with chronometer parameters. And that day we will be all under chinese boot, without Google, free press and shit, but still kinda happy.
I thought they stopped making chrome plated watches in the 80s. Also, I'd like to punch in the stem whoever thinks 2 mm can't make a difference. That guy should ask my wife! What's up with the ugly font useless Pee time text? Missed opportunity with this one, but that's a common issue with cheap Ali watches. Thank you for a very detailed review!
This was my error. I removed the dial to get a measurement and bumped the dial/hands before shooting the review. Never even noticed it until I shot the review 😂
Sorry, that’s not a great application of AR , if it really has it… way too much reflecting going on. And too much shmootz on the inside, specks all over it.
crystals are some of those things that do not show up well on camera at all. it looks WAY better IRL. not just this one, but all crystals. as for the stuff inside...that was my bad. I opened it to get the dial diameter and must have touched the seconds hand AND left a spec of dust on there. it was clean as any other pagani watch when it arrived. I was hoping nobody would notice.

Shame.
Agree. The bezel too big and too thick in my opinion.
Also 38mm case size would be perfect
Thanks for the video
Welcome! 👍
@@EscapeWheel new sub 😊
Forget the op, I think pagani nailed it
Do you have either then?
I wish the top of the case around the bezel wasn’t polished...
I think I saw they were going to start doing that. Their new watch that's similar to this one (Mercedes hands, submariner indices) has the top of the lugs brushed and it looks much better. Pretty sure it's the same case with a different bezel plopped on top. So keep an eye out for an updated case.
great video ive subscribed for more... thanks
Thank you, and welcome! I've heard I'm bad news for wallets 🤣
@@EscapeWheel I'll refer you for blame to my wife lol
Does this watch actually have AR coating? It’s not clear from the video.
That's what I thought too. If they lied about the size, what else might they be lying?
it's definitly there. I've seen and handled enough watches to notice when it's there an not. I can also catch a glimpse of blue hue when the sun hits just right which indicates it's using the same (or similar) AR that San Martin uses.
To say they "Nailed the Design" is an overstatement. Its a copy of the Oyster Perpetual.
fair enough...maybe I should have said, they didn't screw it up to badly? ;)
Please do remember that a couple still means two, so when you have three options it's no longer a couple of options.
Thanks.
you an expert at bustin' balls man? haven't seen one legit comment from you that wasn't some sort of complaint....lol
I'm mostly with you on that, but just to play Devil's advocate, I'm guessing
1) They have a huge parts bin containing date NH35 movements
2) If they use a date NH35 with no date window, then we'd probably complain about the ghost crown position ;)
3) It gives the design a tiny bit more distance away from being a pure Rolex copy
4) Marketers can claim they've "added value" :D
As for the incorrect dimensions, this watch pretty closely matches the Rolex 41 OP's 39.5mm actual size. Yeah 38mm would be perfect, but there's maybe a bit of method in that particular madness.
I will personally donate a $10 set of calipers to Pagani Design so they can get their damn measurements right.
The sarb killer
your video leaves me a little worried, could it be that the box is not made of stainless steel? Could it be that it is a metal alloy and that is why the watch is so inexpensive?
no. rest assured, it is Stainless Steel. there are plenty of $50 stainless steel watches out there, this is inexpensive, but there are plenty of other cheaper Steel watches out there.
Nice watch, it looks like all indicators are misaligned though.
Now that I've had it for a while, if I sit down and state at it, yes, it appears some (not all) are misaligned. But it's one of those mind trick things. Maybe on a different colored dial it would be more pronounced. But the silver dial, and polished indices, makes it hard to see.
It looks killer.
still enjoying it!
Great review! I'm not super familiar with Chinese watches, interested to see more. Subbed!
Thanks for the sub!
Although Pagani Design have been using the NH35A movement for just about all their models, which is a very reliable movement, I wish they would also use the PT5000 or the SW200-1 in some of their models. A bit of variety wouldn't go amiss. JANBOY. RN. Rtd.
There is a piece of dust on your second hand... and that really bothers me T>T
Yup, my fault, too. Happened when I opened it up to get the dial diameter and didn't notice it until I was editing 🤦🤦
If only they also sold a no date version.
I would love that as well
P.& Time...?
Lug to lug is too long for the case, and it's the wrong type of clasp for the watch.. Petty they didn't do more with the sides. What the hell is "pe time"? It's almost a very good watch. That said, great VFM
Agreed, so close to a really nice piece
that looks like seiko snxs77
If you pay extra can you get an undamaged second hand 😅
Second hand was my fault. Must have touched it when I dropped the movement to take a dial measurement. 🤦. My early pics show it was clean before this review
@@EscapeWheel Clumsy 😂😂😂
@@aussie8114 for sure. I didn't have a pillow here to dump the movement on and it just was bad. 🤦🤦
If they made this in a 36mm it would be a huge hit
Agreed
If you have a big wrist it works.
Yup, 7 and up you are good, smaller and you may want to rock it on a strap
The size and date kill it for me. They make such good quality if they would just work on their execution…
Damn it I just ordered this a few days ago and I wish I watched this first. I was excited for a 38mm watch that’s unacceptable really to put blatantly false info in all the descriptions I’ve read of this watch
Are you 100% it’s a stainless steel case?
Yes. between the bottom lugs is the only spot I noticed it. I also scratches the bottom of the lugs when removing the strap and it is indeed steel.
PD and the Chinese in general are churning out pieces in the decent affordable segment taking place where Seiko in general used to be. You can't count on Seiko nowadays as they move to higher price bracket leaving the affordable ones under the banner of ugly Seiko 5 rebrand.
Lug tho lug tho Big for this watch
Yeah, one of my complaints. I wish it was about 47mm
It would be perfect if it was 36mm diameter with 20mm lugs.
That would look weird..it would need to be 18mm...🙂
@@steven2809 personal preference, but I think Rolex Explorer 36mm looks amazing with 20mm lugs.

VERY GOOD EXCELENT PAGANI WATCHEs, EXCELENT LARGE 38mm from Brasil okay 👍
I can't stand the text below the pinion and the date.
One day Pagani Design will have Co axial, Tourbillion, 7 day power reserve - all in-house with chronometer parameters. And that day we will be all under chinese boot, without Google, free press and shit, but still kinda happy.
Bahaha
"Premium" ? with all the debris and dust on the hands etc? Me thinks not.
That was my fault. I pulled the dial to get a measurement and must have touched it on accident. It was as clean as ant other Pagani before I opened it
@@EscapeWheel Ahh gotcha, thanks for the clarification! Great review as always anyway!
Thank you for a very detailed review!
you are welcome. I agree, they are SOOOOO close to making a GREAT watch. this one falls just short of that, but for $90, what can you expect?
I see scratch inside
This was my error. I removed the dial to get a measurement and bumped the dial/hands before shooting the review. Never even noticed it until I shot the review 😂
Why are you wearing gloves 🙄
I just ordered a blue one and am sooooo glad it’s bigger than a pathetic 38mm.
Because I hate fingerprints 😂
Sorry 😢….for subscribing until now 🙄…for some reason I thought I was subscribed…but I don’t as not 😢
Hey, no worries man. Happy to have to aboard!
Hard not to like it....
100%. it's a great looking piece
I only came here for more blood
:disappointed:
;)
lol, next time I'll be sure to bring the blood :)
grand seiko ....... rien d original
