    I have the same saw. I bought it used about 6-7 years ago for $170. I since have completed several kitchens (floor/backsplash) and about 10 bathrooms. The tray does get loose but you can buy replacement rollers. I’m going to step up to a professional grade saw but this really is a great little saw and very durable. I’m still using the original water pump! Great review, can’t wait to see it in action.

    After using the saw more there is some play you have to deal with.
    Especially with porcelain tile and long rips. Still decent saw for the money.

    I used one a few years back. I remember the arbor having some wobble, other then that it's good for a non-tile guy to have. And the price right on it.

      @@pauledwards3325 that is what i remember from about 5 years ago. it is definatly worth it for the price. it has probably been revised since then, or i wasnt using it rite. i only tile a couple times a year, and have acess to use the 10inch dewalt.
      the dewalt is nice because it doesnt get water everyware.

    Have the same saw. It has some slop in the table but you can adjust most of it out from the bottom

    I have had two of these saws, and I still have one of them. This is a great saw for the money. It's lightweight and compact, and the blade makes good clean cuts out of the box.
    FYI: I recently purchased the 7 inch IQ table top (its a $600.00 dry cut saw) and have only used it on a couple of backsplashes and I think it's a winner for second floor jobs, backsplashes, tub surrounds, etc.

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  3 роки тому +1

      The IQ has gotten some bad press for leaving chips on the edge of the tile, have you noticed that?

    • @Heb101922
      @Heb101922 3 роки тому +2

      Both backsplashes were 12 inch subway tile and there was some chipping and not as clean of cuts as I like on the first one. With the second backsplash, the cuts were much better and it did a nice job cutting the rondec trim edge. I had a nice clean cut.
      On the second backsplash I did use frog tape on a goon number of the tiles to make my marks because the tile had such a slick finish and wouldn't take the marks of my pencil. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. I also wrapped frog tape around the metal trim.
      So maybe the frog tape is the key. lol!
      I do think you have to get a feel for it regarding pushing the tile through.

      One more thing, I wouldn't trust the IQ saw if I were doing a job where the cut edges were going to be visible and needed to be clean. It is a good tool to have if the cut edges are going to be covered up. In those cases, it is a time saver, and time is money.

    I made 4 bathrooms with this wetsaw, worth the money. Its a bit sketchy cutting 12×24 tile, the tray has a bit too much play in it

    I Own Both The 7" and 10". They Have Paid For Them Selves Easy. The 10" Is High Quality and You Can Cut Large Formats At Ease. No Complaints. I Run Both In Big Jobs. The Only Thing On The 7" Was The Pump Gave Out. So I Bought A Bigger Pump..More Water And Runs Like A Champ.

      First thing i did was put a rubber coating on the table top and put a 150gph water pump instead of the stock 50gph..

      I have both also,had them for about 5/6 yrs no motor issues,pump hose fittings broke and the depth set screw on the 7" broke other than them not having a soft start & being loud I've made a good few pennies with them.The trays aren't smooth as my MK but again no complaints here and I've used them alot.I have those and a Rigid worm drive that have lasted,I definitely got my monies worth with them.

    Got mine set up and did a few test cuts, definitely not crazy about the play with the table pulled all the way back, but I’m also Concerned about the blade, seems like left a pretty rough cut, of course my lack of experience is likely a major contributor.

      That one is basically the 10in saw and by default me and most tile guys use the DeWalt 10in... it's a better saw with better features and cost a little less

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  8 місяців тому +1

      There's still too much play in the table to get a good cut on a big tile, but it is a backup saw for basically a backsplash or in a very very tight area of a bathroom where my dewalt won't fit
