Like Hafriz said, hybrids are more likely to suit us well here in Msia as an oil-rich country compared to the western countries where fuel is much more expensive hence the EVs are currently their best solution as consumer commuters.

Unfortunately it didnt sell well in China... seem suffering from alot of issue from battery management system, to braking issue... in China its only selll about 2000 only.. and most dealer have to give massive discount to move the sales..i wonder why..
I wished toyota Malaysia brings in thr Prius Prime... Because it has Solar and can run on petrol... Malaysia is a sunny country and this is a good target market if they brought the Prius Prime here.We can rely on solar, petrol and electric.

That's because Toyota sees EV as a 'trend', not the 'future' for automotive. Ironically, EV is not really environmentally friendly due to the key components for neodymium and lithium. Hydrogen Fuel Cell is hence potentially better.

Volvo is ok but xc40 is just a Honda HRV and Toyota Cross size. The behind seatsnis very narrow. Interior material feel cheap. I think XC60 should have been the xc40 price than it will sell well. 200k to 230k for xc40, since Tesla is here.
This car is a complete failure in China. The initial price was approx MYR128K and later reduced to MYR89K. There were even rumours saying Toyota factory in Tianjin (China) would be sold to BYD. It basically can't compete with BYD's Song EV which is priced slightly lower, yet providing a significantly longer battery life and other features.
Need to remember that Tesla has tax breaks for a while, that's why they can price it cheaply now. Few years in the future the price will be much expensive. Toyota and others are still taxed.
