  • Tapioca cake or cassava cake is one of the traditional kuih aka dessert that I grew up with. It is tender, moist and springy with the crispy crust at the same time. We eat them as breakfast, tea time and during special occasions such as wedding or praying to the ancestors.
    You can buy grated cassava at the frozen aisle which will save your work from having to cut and grate it. Its super easy to make and almost impossible to fail.
    Ingredients:
    1)Grated cassava - 630g
    2)Coconut milk - 260g
    3)Salt - 1/2 tsp
    4)Sugar - 100g
    5)Egg - 1 (~50g)
    6)Melted butter - 25g

    家人都很喜欢木薯糕。在国内的时候,每次在菜市采购时都会在卖糕点的摊位买几片回家吃。去到国外后,发现这里的亚洲超市也进口很多东南亚的食材。想自己做传统糕点真的不难。木薯有分黄肉和白肉。黄肉的木薯不容易找到。外面卖的黄色木薯糕很多时候都是加了蛋黄粉或色素好让卖相更诱人。自家吃的可以省略那些不必要的添加物。
    材料:
    1)木薯碎 - 630g
    2)椰奶 - 260g
    3)盐 - 1/2 茶匙
    4)白糖 - 100g
    5)鸡蛋 - 1个 (~50g)
    6)融化牛油 - 25g
