If you're planning on taking guitar lessons, it may be a good idea to do everything you can do to prepare ahead of time. Many students often overlook some of the most important aspects of taking lessons, such as having their own guitar or listening to music that has guitar parts in it. So save yourself (and your teacher) some time and be ready for your first guitar lesson so that you can hit the ground running and get as much value as possible out of your guitar lessons.
