Really good tips for both beginners and somewhat intermediate players. Love the content and keep up the good work.

I would say I’ve been owning a guitar for around a year but only like 3 months of taking it more seriously

@@altruiststudiosbut in all honesty my old music teacher was really good at her job so she taught me the basics then I’ve learned all my other skills on my own

An interesting video. For the last six months I've been playing a classical guitar (not classical music, just the guitar). It has a 52mm nut width and I have small hands with short fingers. Nevertheless, I managed to learn most of the chords I needed.
Not pressing the strings down hard enough was not my problem, just the opposite. I constantly pressed too hard -- ouch! My thumb was in the correct position only about a third of the time. I've been working to correct both bad habits. But ultimately I realized I needed a guitar with a narrower neck. I wanted to stick with nylon strings so ended up getting a crossover similar to the one you're holding, except I suspect yours is likely more upscale than mine. 😊 My bad habits are improving. So if anyone warching this video plays a wide necked guitar and has some of these challenges, maybe think about a different guitar if nothing else helps.
BTW, how do you keep the glossy finish of your guitar so clean and shining? My new one has a black glossy finish and I'm constantly wiping it down. In general, a good video. Thanks for posting.

@@LLewis-vu9qf great to hear about your progress! As far as keeping my guitar shiny, it’s got a lot more smudges and finger prints than you think. The pattern of the wood helps to hide most of them.
I feel your pain though! The guitar I keep in my classroom is glossy black and it’s always dirty looking haha
Occasionally I’ll take them into the shop to get routine maintenance and strings changed and the guys there put some kind of polish and wax on it to make it shine

@@altruiststudios -- Thanks for responding. 😀 I'm sure that eventually I'll stop being so obsessive about keeping the guitar clean but for now, I want to keep it looking nice as long as I can.
