  • Full build of Rye Field Model Sherman M4A3 76W HVSS W/full interior 1:35 (RM-5042). The video provide a detailed step by step guide as well as in depth hints and tips which I think will be proved useful to people who want to build this kit.
    This is the second video which include bogies/tracks assembly and full painting and weathering of the hull interior.
    This video build is dedicated to my wife who gave me this amazing kit as a birthday present :)
    I hope you like it. Enjoy!!!

    I remember when I was in the Army back in 1985 our M1's tracks had a different name for the "guild horns". We called them center guilds which changed the nomenclature to the new designation. Anyone else in a armor reg. remember. I was with 4/64 Armor, "Tuskers"

    I've built the RFM Jagdpanther and that was an epic build. I have this kit waiting and will start it next month. The tracks look a big job but typical of RFM. With the Jagdpanther I sectioned a lot of the upper hull away with the dremel as I didn't want to cover the interior detail. I might do the same here.Sort of make a sectioned model as if in a museum. The interior and engine of the Sherm looks good.

    • @GeorgeModellingforBeginners
      @GeorgeModellingforBeginners  3 роки тому +1

      Someone who built both models mentioned that the Sherman was much more enjoyable than the Jagpanther. So I think you will love it. Also good display idea sectioning the hull. I am still try to decide how to display mine.

    • @allanrichards6448
      @allanrichards6448 3 роки тому +1

      @@GeorgeModellingforBeginners Yes I can vouch that the Jagdpanther is not that easy a build. It has a lot of PE which I find fiddly and also some of this PE is structural so getting things accurately located is difficult and mistakes don't come to light until late in the build. I note your title and i wouldn't class RFM full interior kits as beginners material. The Sherman is a much less complex vehicle than the German machines so I am looking forward to building it. An ideal involved build to keep me occupied through the rest of lockdown.

Initially I though it was because of the light grey plastic colour of the kit but appeared in painted parts as well. I am working on it to fix this (already changed bulb) but I am in the process to buy some softboxes. Those will definitely improve the quality of the captured videos.

You’ve done an exceptional job already on the interior, can’t wait to see it done. I was just wondering, what Sherman had wet stowage for ammo. I thought about that when I saw the ammo under the floor. I’m thinking that maybe the Easy 8 had wet stowage, it would be cool to have the ammo in the floor submerged in a clear, green liquid. But after you got the model together, nobody would see it. So, it was just an idea if someone could incorporate that in one of those full interior models, if someone could see it, lol.
