Sorry to hear about your hand! Also, I always feel inspired while watching your videos to start some socks! I love the watercolor-like yarn you have, and also those sock blanks look so pretty and fun too! I'm excited to see your progress on those!
Love this podcast! Would love to see your more often though ;-) That card was definitely Dutch (which I know beacuse I am haha), which makes sense, because the "Lowlands" in their name is actually about The Netherlands (a low and flat country). Love all your yarn and projects! Keep up the super nice work and hopefully your hand will heal soon!
Really liked your podcast. I also have that problem with my right hand I can really tell when I over use it when crocheting. It takes a good 2 days some times for it to stop hurting.
I sure hope it isn't anything serious with your hand...you should go get it checked out.. I love all your projects and your new yarns! Such pretty colors! Love your podcasts. - Judy
been a long time, but it looked like you had a hairline fracture. When it is cold those kinds of fractures heal quick and hurt less. I fractured the back of my hand and didn't feel it. The pain later and mild swelling was what tipped me off. Had x ray done and that was the diagnosis. had to wear a brace for a couple of weeks. could still knit and crochet but not to the fullest extent. Let me know if you found out what that was. But it looks the exact same as what happened to me. It is a sign of osteoporosis. I have it and I'm only 39, Great vids though. Been catching up on them.
I'm hoping by now your hand is completely back to normal. I have had that problem in the past and it's sort of like a muscle strain and the muscle swells and becomes painful. That is your body telling you to rest the painful part for a wee while. If it happens again I suggest you take an anti inflammatory /pain killer tablet called ibuprofen 4-6 hly for a few days and rest it. I love all the project bags you have there in the US. I myself visit secondhand or charity shops and check out hand made bags that are usually hidden near the floor with all the handbags. The make wonderful project bags as they are usually quite large made of fabric and cheap to buy. I usually only have to pay about $2 for each bag. I found a UA-cam video of how to make sock blockers out of wire coat hangers so when I make my first pair of socks I'll have a soxblock ready for use. Well time to watch another podcast. Thanks for being here and making this podcast.
Lots and lots of sox in your future!! And yes, please finish the dot shawl - your're so close!! You should really go to the dr. and have your hand checked out. It could be serious or it could be nothing but overuse. You need your hands!!!
Didn't you say that a rep from Regia said the correct pronounciation of Regia is with a hard g sound? I've been going around telling people "Well Susan B Anderson asked a rep from Regia and she said..." Lol. Oh my, did I screw that one up or what?!! Did you ever find out what was going on with your hand? I hope all is well.
+stockinettestitch I did say that, yes! I think the correct pronunciation is with a hard g sound but I don't always remember to say it that way. I never found out about my hand but it is totally and completely fine without any pain so all is good!
+SusanBAnderson Oh good! I'm smack dab in the middle of middle age & thought I must've hallucinated your saying that. Lol I'm glad your hand is well. SMH - the things we take used to take for granted, eh?
I was going to say the same thing....RA. I have it and that is how it started with me back in 94....I think women need to watch carefully when they go through menopause as it seems to trigger several immune diseases. Get it checked out....there are blood tests they can do and determine what you might have. I'm not saying you're going through menopause..I was and I was young when I did.....40's. I was riding horses and couldn't buckle the tack but it was Winter and I thought it was just the cold barn but it wasn't. I ended up going to Mayo just to ensure that the diagnosis was correct. Stress also seemed to play a big part as no one in my family ever had it. Good luck! Yes, your hands are beautiful!

Does it look like there is a bite? Reminds me of a spider bite.
No, there is not a bite or any type of wound at all.... I thought of that though.
