      Happy to hear it Cam! Bringing that handle to life has been a dream of mine for over a decade. I obsess over mm when in comes to keeping the rig stack height as minimal as possible and this handle was a huge step forward for that. The Nato to Nato mount is the cherry on top! Hope all is going well for you and your work.

    • @cammackey
      @cammackey Рік тому +2

      @@brandonpetersen10 dude YES. It’s been a constant struggle finding handles that are low and compact, with good weight balance, that also leaves room for the hand. Closes I had found was the short Stinger and then one of Smallrig super small one that brought that balance with the separation if the index finger. So this Kondorblue one basically perfect the combo if both. Always found it weird tgat no one ever talked about handle height and balance.. so it’s nice to hear that thought was important in the design!!!

    Seems super useful, curious about how you actually route your cables seeing as you’re going out of the camera (HDMI) to the teradek (HDMI>SDI) to monitor (SDI)? Also how you are powering the camera assuming you’re running it off of the v-mount?

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  Рік тому +3

      Was going to include it in this video but would have added 5 more minutes. Might do a follow up but in a nut shell, the HDMI is going into the Teradek and the Teradek has SDI out that goes to the Atomos monitor. Camera is being powered by USB C using this: geni.us/dtapusbc

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  Рік тому +1

      Honestly the noise performance on the S5 II is pretty impressive. With the S1H being almost $1,700 more I don't think it's better noise, timecode and minor features are worth it. I'd say the opposite is true where having Phase Detect AF when you need it is worth more than the S1H. I love shooting manual but often times AF is also needed and noise can easily be fixed by adding more lights or NR in post, can't fix bad focus :)

    • @PhilHover
      @PhilHover Рік тому +1

      @@mondobytes It is a great camera at it's price bracket. There is a reason the S1H is still priced where it is. The processing on the S1H is better, finer, tighter noise pattern. Much less visible and easier to clean up. Better internal battery on the S1H. The S5 II is a workhorse as well.

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  Рік тому +1

      @@PhilHover Perhaps, but just speaking for myself. From all the time using the S5 II even in low light the noise isn't an issue for me to want to spend $1,600 more. At that price point I'd rather get an FX3 which I can push to 12,800 ISO and get a SUPER CLEAN image and still have killer AF if needed.

    Well, I know one more VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE no one is talking about... Lumix S5II and S5IIX don't have new Phase Detect AF in 1080p full frame 50,60,100 and 120 FPS but only old Contrast AF which is the biggest disappointment... So for some reason people who prefer to shoot 1080p FF in slow-mo from 50 to 120 fps they should do that with old glitchy Contrast base AF. Same for all of those who were hoping to upscale 1080p 50-120 fps to 4k - no PDAF. And taking into account it's a video-oriented hybrid camera, it looks like without a firmware update in the next several months almost perfect camera becomes garbage. I preordered S5IIX and now looking forward to the firmware update. Hope they will fix it by the time S5IIX ships. If not - will just move to another brand. I believe this is a very important factor people should know about.
