Maxwell's alertness caught the runner trying to steal second. She positioned herself directly behind the second baseman "out of sight" waiting for her to throw the ball to the pitcher then steal second. Maxwell points to her before the ball is released. So impressive are these Sooners!
One does not make a short turn into the field of play unless the ball has clearly gone through the infield and or the base coach instructs. An additional base is not as important as the out. Remaining out of play is most important thing a runner does on a fielders choice. costly...
In a different video from another angle, you can see the 1st base coach is actually yelling to her, “BACK BACK!!” I think Mia Scott got a little cocky and bit off more than she could chew. She also did something similar to this when she got a base hit. Heads up play by Avery Hodge and Sanders as well.
Florida woulda got smoked in 2....that freshman pitcher got her feelings hurt and wouldn't have been the same and they had nothing else on the mound. We're talking hammered.....11 - 2 or 9-1 both games
Okay people.... How many times you see a batter get a hit and then get thrown out trying to get to second or third? It was basically the same thing, and Texas wasn't gonna win that game or the championship. Gasso ran circles around Mike White again.
I showed the video of Scott’s error to my 9 yr old grandson who plays little league and he yelled, “What is she doing??? That’s so dumb!! “ And it was! It killed Texas’ best chance at a national championship.😡
Look at the anguish on the tea-sip 1st base coach's face. There is a German word which means "taking pleasure in other people's pain." That's not nice, unless it's the tea-sips; the most arrogant, greedy sports program in the N.C.A.A.
@@ronaldlamascus1944it rly was I don’t understand why people say “if she didn’t get the dang ball” try softball it’s a hard sport. I play myself. (Not talking about you)
What was the first base coach doing all this time? Letting her prima donna third baseman dance around off first base. Hilarious. And this was the #1 rated team? That stuff would never happen at Oklahoma. Texas deserved to lose this one.
Blame the first base coach??? No, this is *entirely* the batter-runner's fault.

Typical Texas choke job🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oklahoma-Florida should have been the final💯

Choke!
Mia Scott and Reese Atwood were responsible for three combined mistakes in the series. The difference between Oklahoma and Texas was discipline.

Great job by ESPN to cut from the play at first base.
Precisely. Pointless video for someone like me just trying to view what's even going on.
It wasn’t an error. Texas coach Mike White said she was trying to goad OU, and it backfired on her.
How to loose your scholarship in one easy lesson…
It was the home field advantage that caused her to do this.
😂😂😂
Your funny 💀
How 💀😂

Schadenfreude
That run never scores and the base running error never happens if the second baseman catches the dang ball
That was a very difficult ball to field cleanly. You sure couldn’t have done it.

Texas EARNED that loss.
The first base coach was yelling for her to get back! Totally on Scott and not the coach.
Blame the first base coach.
Both the runner and the coach share equal blame, imo
