That step jump trick was really nice. Also, never realized you could backspace on the song names, that was one of the most annoying things about the electribe until now.
Thanks a lot mate! I recognized your name from Gearslutz' mastering forum, wasn't aware that you're into electronic music. Great tutorials, convinced me to buy an Electribe! Cheers
Thanks for your video. I just bought an E2 last week and I was looking for some shortcuts, tricks and tips. Very instructional. Also, your voice and spelling is also very good. Greetings.
thanks for your vid. i read about the step jump technique on the korg forum and just couldn't figure it out. got it now. post more stuff! great bit of kit
I like that it doesn't just do everything for you. As an instrument it actually requires you to bother to learn how to play it properly. Kinda like learning the button combos on 80s arcade machines. No matter how well you play, you're just not cool unless you know them.
Great tips and trick ! There is just one thing that is no longer available : shift + back arrow to erase caracters, because now with the last update this is the undo function ! Anyway, I learned a lot with your video so thank you so much for this !
You're welcome ! Yeah, this is a cool feature but i can't understand why they don't do a compromise and make possible 2 functions ! Cause it's very boring to rotate button and erasing character by character ! Have a nice day !
thanks some cool tips shift+pads and holding sequencer button and swapping parts didit work for me but i guess thats in the os everything else was good info cheers
Hey Tarakith, Thanks for the great video. I'm a noob with these bits of kit, sorry for any ignorance, but is there a way of changing the bar length from 1 to (say) 4 while keeping all the parts from the first single bar pattern? I know in the menu it can be changed from 1,2,3 or 4 bars long, but it seems to only copy over certain parts, (mainly drums, not synths). If I start with 4 bars it's fine, but not if I try to lengthen from a one bar pattern. Thanks for your help, and keep up the great videos. Best wishes, Carl
+tarekith it does copy some parts over, (drums), but with the synths it only copies over some. For example, it copied everything on to bar 3, but not 2 and 4. Maybe it's a weird thing I've done with the synth sounds in bar one?? Thanks for the reply.
Brilliant info, some i already knew and some i didn't, which obviously makes life much easier. I haven't had mine for long, i have the Electribe Sampler but what i'm really struggling with, is how to delete some of the voices that i'm very unlikely to ever use, such as the ooh's and ahh's, they are a touch cheesy and i've i ever do need any specific vocal parts, i can import them as samples. The manual tends to call the voices "parts", i assume this is so?, if that is the case the manual states that all sequence data is the method to remove the part. I expect that if i delete all the parts (voices) that i don't like or i'm not likely to use, will deleting them free up memory so that i can then import some of my own samples? Regards and thanks for the tutorial.
I want to buy and control the electribe sampler with my electronic drumset.. does anyone know if wav sounds can be assigned to single midi notes on the same midi channel ? Thanks
Hi Tarekith. Is it possible to export a part sound from one pattern to another? So if i want to use a sound from one of the factory patterns in my own pattern, can i do that?
+Tiggger triplesixtiggger Sure, you can use the Copy Part fucntion to get the sound and pattern data, or just the Copy Part Sound to get only the patch data.
Hi dude great tut! On the EMX1, if i was in step edit mode and selected the first note, then set the gate time to 16, it would play a solid note for the whole bar . Do you know if this is possible on the EMX2, or is it a case of selecting each note and setting it to a tie?
Do you know what update gets rid of the clicking and popping? Even when I switch to poly 1 or 2 it still does it for alot of the sounds. It's really bad on Amp EG. I can't believe korg would release something with these kind of issues. If you know or don't, it's alright, thanks.
great video, i'm still mad that they dont add the label for the pad for the shit button....and i dont have buy it yet lol conflicted with the elektron model:cycle, but i think i love more the E2 (synth version) and the ableton export will be very useful
just bought the Electribe Sampler, my first sampler/beat machine, and I'm confused on how to change the note pitch. In keyboard you can play the notes but in sequence it's the default.
Hey Tarekith, I can't figure out how to apply efx to an input signal. I went to global settings, turned the audio in to On, I turned the input knob up and I hear the audio in with no problem, but when I select an effect and use the edit knob no effects can be heard. Can you help good sir?
You would need to plug the microphone into the Audio In jack in the back. This is an 1/8th inch (or 35mm) jack. Most microphones are XLR so you would need and XLR to 1/8th inch cable or converter.
To anybody that knows about this machine and how to fix the problem I'm having, please, does anybody know what update or other place I can go to, to get rid of the sound bug that originally comes with these when you first get them. I have had a couple people tell me that they have not had this, but a ton of people tell me that they have it when hitting repetitive notes or playing a simple melody with most instrument, sine, bass and one shot sounds, no matter if it is on poly 1 or 2 or anything else. I've tried everything to get rid of the clicking and popping noise. I ask my fellow electribe users, because you have the machine or you yourself have gotten the updates or whatever you did to help your system, it would really be great to know what you did, you would be a life saver. I am not computer savvy at all with these things so that's why I ask. Please, any guidance will help. Thanks.
@@hippiemajors5491 Hey Hippie Majors, SBN here, I have had this machine for about two and a half years, and I found out overtime that the popping and clicking noise at the beginning of the sound can only be helped if you put the decay/release up really high, put your sound on poly 1 or 2, or use a low pass filter on the effects. Some other effects help too. That's the only thing that will help, or try not to play notes repititiously very fast, because you will always here that clicking and popping noise. There are other ways to help with the sounds on the E2, but the output/input noise is loud and staticy. There is really nothing that can be done besides running it into some kind of DAW or software and taking it out, which is a pain in the butt, but if you have any questions about the Electribe 2, I know alot about it and the Roland JD-XI if you happen to have one of those. Later...SBN
Yes the manuel is just another garbage I don't get this people coming with marvelous ideas but menu writter doesn't know what he is writing for those who are not being used these devices😡😡😳😳
8 years later... thanks good video
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!. I thought my Electribe Sampler was going to be uneven forever. Thanks again.
That step jump trick was really nice. Also, never realized you could backspace on the song names, that was one of the most annoying things about the electribe until now.
MrFricoco I wonder what other tricks are out there?
***** Ya, might find more with new updates too!
I cant do the Step record, it doesen't works
Thanks a lot mate! I recognized your name from Gearslutz' mastering forum, wasn't aware that you're into electronic music. Great tutorials, convinced me to buy an Electribe! Cheers
This is what everyone who's thinking about buying an ~E2 needs to see! Boss work =)
Thanks for your video. I just bought an E2 last week and I was looking for some shortcuts, tricks and tips. Very instructional. Also, your voice and spelling is also very good. Greetings.
Thanks, glad you found it helpful!
extremely helpful and informative, thanks.

Massively useful tips. Thanks!
Awesome Awesome Awesome. So much better than the manual Thank you!!!
thanks for your vid. i read about the step jump technique on the korg forum and just couldn't figure it out. got it now. post more stuff! great bit of kit
Holy shit man, that wobble! hardly any pressure and it's fixed! thank you so much!
Great info here, especially this step write trick sounds very useful. Thanks for posting!
+LousyFacelift No problem!

There's an UNDO function now?

Eric Parisot thanks for the heads up, I didn’t realize they changed that.

Thanks so much for this. Really well-explained and extremely helpful.

Thanks! I thought this would provide no info for me. Turns out, mostly all new to me!

Pressing the case may disrupt the pcb? Is that why you made a disclaimer?
You've been hammering on that pad! Ooch. Thanks for the tips.

Can i record samples with with a microphone through the audio in jack?
Dude the parts jumping is great becusse it also doesn't set the sound off while recording!

Turn off the audio in thru
Somebody need to made a basic synthesizer with a sequence with a groove box looks but is close to what i'm looking for.
Very useful. Thank you!

genius wobble fix trick
+Luxscape :)
How many LFOs per part? Thanks!

You still using this unit???
Any idea what "alternate 13-14" and "15-16"?
It's like choke groups, one track will stop the sound of another playing. For things like open and closed high hats.
Thank you. I didn't see anything about it in the manual.
dude, thanks!
+Chris Hadzipetros (DARK TAPES) dude, you're welcome!
Shift + back no longer works, instead it tries to Undo, this is with the 2.0+ software :/
top vid. cheers T

nice presentation:d

How do I Make my own Titles on the digital screen? Help?'
