I checked out several other explanations & this one is by far the best. He explains in detail & never assumes the listener knows terms or reasoning behind the “oppositesville” of reading sports betting odds. I’m not betting but this helps my fantasy team decisions!
This is amazing 👏. Ive watched countless people explain this and literally within seconds of his very direct (non overhead chatter and lingo) and visually MAKING an example a lightbulb went off.
Man this video helped so much, had to drop a like. I lost my parlay last night because the winning team didn’t cover & I didn’t understand that til watching this video. Super clutch, thank you!!
Parlays are for suckers. I won only a Parlay once and that was a 5 team Parlay on college basketball and the Super Bowl (all money line bets). Purdue almost ruined my Parlay.
@@jordanking6939 learned the hard way but now I been sniping on ml right now only 50/50 on but hopefully I'll be able to choose one game or 2 to hit 100%, any given day I could choose a wrong team but lately the game where I have a good gut feeling on a underdog winning I'm been right 65% on the time
Wow! This video is still paying dividends, it took me a few times watching it and finally got it, I was somewhat confused on the “spread” but all of a sudden! 💡 Thanks Bro!
Money line info was great still need more info on spread so I’m headed to another video on spreads; thank you for your informative video really appreciate it! July 1st it is legal in our state so want to get hit the ground rolling.
Thank you for not going into your life history and how you first started beting and your favorite teams and all that nonsense. You explained what I needed
What other educational types of videos would you like to see? Deeper dives on individual bet types, sportsbook reviews, app walkthroughs? I've upgraded my sound equipment so all newer videos don't sound like this one lol.
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "what is betting against the spread" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Keton Jenackenzie Equalizer - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got excellent results with it.
So correct me if I’m misunderstanding because if I’m right this will help me a lot. Moneyline or “odds” could almost be represented by a percentage, no? If I bet the packers and win, my input amount earns 145% dollar for dollar. If I bet the bears and win my input amount earns 65% dollar for dollar.
Appreciate you dude straight forward explanation no thrills im new making $2 bets to get a feel before i jump into 10 100 1000 bets my mgm is linked to Nevada so when im in LA it doesnt let me bet so frustration any ideas on how to bet in cali when my id is from nevada i can get a cali id too
The minimum bet requirement I usually see is $5. All you have to do is calculate base on the money line. In your scenario, if you bet 50 and end up winning, you would get half of 285 plus your 50: 142.5 +50= 192.5
So let’s say on a moneyline bet if one friend bet packers win and I bet bears would win if we always pooled our winnings would we run into a negative loss or would we gain more wins and what would the payouts look like ?
A dry eraser marker and a board always do the trick. Great job buddy! Now for a single game, you can bet only 1 category(either spread, money line or O/U), or 2 or 3 at once?
If you bet $50 on the money line and win do you get that $50 back plus the winning or do you have to bet the total number that is shown in order to receive your money back?
im a super newbie... when going over the spread it was really confusing... suggestions, try writing down a couple examples so that we can visually see, otherwise good
Today I was at the casino and noticed someone could bet on the patriots game and it was already in the 3rd qtr. The spread was 19. The score was 0 - 26 pats. When that game started, I was told the spread was only 8 (or 12?). If someone bet early on, and the spread requirement was only 8, does that ticket stay locked in? Even though layer on, it became 19. In horse betting, the odds change for everyone.
I would like to know if I can make an account with a borrowed address, for example I live in New York and if a friend gives me his home address in New Jersey, can he or not?
so if its -10 that team has to win by 10 or more? what i mean really is if you win your bet if its 25-15..was wondering if it needed to be 26-15 to win the bet?
No, the favorite is the - on the spread or moneyline. The -110 on the over/under means you have to put up 110 to win 100. O/U is separate from the favorite.
Using your example here, say I bet $5.00 on the Bears moneyline. The Bears win. How much do I win with my $5.00 bet and how do you figure that out? Does "-165" mean you win $1.65 for every dollar I bet?
Such a simple and easy breakdown, I understood some of the concepts but am new to Sportsbook so was lost on the layout and stuff. Really helped
Same
@@Chiefsfan12 Same!

You did a good job explaining everything people need to know. A+
Hands down, best video explanation of the spread of I’ve seen. Thank you!
This is by far the best simple explanation of these types of bets. Thank you.
Finally an explanation you can understand without all the scientific language thank you
lol yes
Thank you for posting this video!!

Thank you bro! Best explanation on YT!
So if Team A is Favorite and the money line is 20,000 and I put 20,000 on the money line and team A wins. I get 40,000? Is my math correct?
For those of you who are wondering: Packers 10, Bears: 3.
Thanks broke it down in plain English for us thanks man
Thanks! I was confused up until now!
thank you for this video! i only understand from you 🎉😂
Great video.

So if it says +285 how much money do I have to bet can I bet $50 or do I have to bet $100 I’m kind of confused about that part
Pretty sure you can bet anything you want unless they have a minimum probably atleast 10$
Bet how much you want, whenever you see + just know that you're going to multiply your money
The minimum bet requirement I usually see is $5. All you have to do is calculate base on the money line. In your scenario, if you bet 50 and end up winning, you would get half of 285 plus your 50: 142.5 +50= 192.5
Thank u so simple 😊 now I understand
Is the term “Betting on the Packers to beat the spread” when you bet on them to win in this instance?
very informative. thanks.
You hit it on the head. GREAT explanation.
How do sportsbook companies come up with those numbers, such as +145,-165, and so on?
Is there situation where you have to pay more than your bet if you lose? Can you go into debt if you lose?
So let’s say on a moneyline bet if one friend bet packers win and I bet bears would win if we always pooled our winnings would we run into a negative loss or would we gain more wins and what would the payouts look like ?
So when you pick the over and under, your just predicting the score total not the winner right?
A dry eraser marker and a board always do the trick. Great job buddy! Now for a single game, you can bet only 1 category(either spread, money line or O/U), or 2 or 3 at once?
You can bet the spread and the O/U or the moneyline and the O/U. You can't bet all 3 because the spread and the moneyline contradict one another.
Are money line bets a minimum of $100?
Great simple Video man
I would take that money line anyday lol
Oh yeah 🤣🤣🤣
Haha
Thank you for explaining I was starting to think these games was rigged
Thank you, what's the most popular people bet on? spreads?
Do you also win your wager?
According to Google you do I just started doing this too
Question if I bet for the packers to win, so I enter +100 (as my bet), and the packers lose, am I losing my $100, or am I losing $140?
Finally a video with no dislikes
let me change that
So do we bet on the total ?
If I were to take bears money line but packers +3 would I need the bears to win by less than 3 to win?
thanks for this content, extremely helpful 💪😎
bro explained it so simply
If you bet $50 on the money line and win do you get that $50 back plus the winning or do you have to bet the total number that is shown in order to receive your money back?
So lets say i bet on underdog spread +3 i win if team either loses and or wins by more then 3 right?
im a super newbie... when going over the spread it was really confusing... suggestions, try writing down a couple examples so that we can visually see, otherwise good
Why wasn’t Betstripes mentioned?
Excellent video
Thanks for the explanation gonna start on fan duel
Hey man great clear explanation thank you! Just one question... in the Total area whats the (- and +) numbers?🤔
Who determines the spread?
Today I was at the casino and noticed someone could bet on the patriots game and it was already in the 3rd qtr. The spread was 19. The score was 0 - 26 pats. When that game started, I was told the spread was only 8 (or 12?). If someone bet early on, and the spread requirement was only 8, does that ticket stay locked in? Even though layer on, it became 19.
In horse betting, the odds change for everyone.
This the first video i saw when i got into gambling….2 years later I’ve had one eviction and 4 late car payments.
Why didn’t you bring up Betstripes?
Only clicked this game line explanation video bc the packers 😂 but thanks I understand now
Why can you bet only a hundred on the +145 but must the whole 165 on the minus?
What if the packers win by 4 did you lose or win ?
Can you tell me what a line total double is. And match/total double is
I would like to know if I can make an account with a borrowed address, for example I live in New York and if a friend gives me his home address in New Jersey, can he or not?
Wow you’re a life saver
The only thing with this, is that the Over/Under total would be a .5 number.
So it would be offered as - under/over 45.5 or 46.5.
Still trying to hit that 13 leg same game parlay…. On of these days I’m tellin ya!
so if its -10 that team has to win by 10 or more? what i mean really is if you win your bet if its 25-15..was wondering if it needed to be 26-15 to win the bet?
Wow, so easy. u should do basketball break down
What about Soccer I bet on money line but game was draw and they never gave me the money back
How can the O/U be -110 for both? Does it mean both are favored?
No, the favorite is the - on the spread or moneyline. The -110 on the over/under means you have to put up 110 to win 100. O/U is separate from the favorite.
can you win more if you bet with more than $100?
Do they have to win the game by 3 points or do u add 3 points in the score that just made no sense
Using your example here, say I bet $5.00 on the Bears moneyline. The Bears win. How much do I win with my $5.00 bet and how do you figure that out? Does "-165" mean you win $1.65 for every dollar I bet?
yes + your money back added to the 1.65 times five
