  • In episode 1 you would have seen we ripped up our old flooring and found a lot of rust and corrosion, something we knew we had to repair before we could really start our camper build.
We put many hours into replacing our floor, firstly starting by finding a company that supplied the correct panels. We found YRM Metals which produces Land Rover panels, you can actually build an entire Land Rover from the parts they supply - HOW AWESOME!
We do still have a long way to go with our build but we are making a lot of progress and should be nearly on our way to completing our build in the next few months - all things going to plan!
Let us know if you have any questions regarding our build process, we are by no means professionals and we would highly recommend doing your own research and not just copying us, but we are more than happy to help if we can!
Items we have bought for the camper so far:
    Underfloor Support Strutt - yrmit.co.uk/product/underfloo...
    Rear Floor 3mm Mill Finish - yrmit.co.uk/product/rear-floo...
Rear Floor Support Top Hat - yrmit.co.uk/product/rear-floo...

I really admire the two of you for taking this on. It can be daunting taking on these tasks with a Landy....but you have saved yourselves a fortune by doing it yourselves and in truth you've done a better job than someone else would do because it's your passion....... and it's your Landy. You guys have nailed it and produced an excellent result. Your videos are good for the soul and are complemented by great music choices which capture the moment perfectly......It serves to remind us all that the world is full of beautiful places waiting to be discovered in our Landys. Thank you both for sharing your adventures.......Buck and Ruthie

Love the video! nice to see a more in depth build log rather than a 20 minute time lapse seeing a 10 minute video on installing the floor alone is great! Learned so much on this video alone

Worth you explaining a bit more as you go. (I didnt fully understand about the fuel tank removal requirement and it would have been nice to see you take it out and refit)

Massive job! Well done. As a fellow Landy owner I understand that “bravery” is part of ownership and modification! I recently took the roof off and cut my roll cage on my 110 NAS and fit it with an Alu-Cab Icarus rooftop! I modified and reassembled the cage! I’ve seen so many videos over the years with people wondering if it can be done. And I just did it! I am building out my interior and stumbled across your video. Subscribed, liked And happy to comment. I always enjoy seeing what other people do with their builds. This is a lifestyle of passion and we all serve the community. Well done you guys, and happy happy travels. I look forward to seeing what you do with the new design. Good videos and production is spot on! Cheers from the USA.

I'm tempted to buy a Defender to build up as a camper, not sure if your video series is inspiring me or convincing me to look at another vehicle option! Good on you both regardless, labour of love for sure... 👌🏽

Unfortunately you seem to have missed a critical stage. When we do this job we etch prime all the galvanised steel sections and treat it with POR-15 this makes it last far longer, we also used barium chromate primer on the underside of the aluminium floor, before also treating it with POR-15. This extra step will make the repairs you did last much longer. Every thing else was very nicely done.

Mission creep, frightening how one job always seems to open up a another sometimes even bigger & more complex job. You did the right thing replacing it all doing it properly, but not for the faint of heart it’s a big job with a few unexpected surprises along the way.

Nice job there. I did the same job last year and I have to say, I'm surprised you didn't paint and rust proof the underfloor supports before assembly. Galvanised or not, you want to give those supports the best chance you can, especially as they are a such a mud and water trap. My biggest regret was not replacing the fuel pump while I had the oppotunity. Guess what I did last week lol.

Nice work! Although the lack of gloves had me sweating 😅. Was the original cab floor riveted down when you ripped it out? Cheers

I would have cut a hole in fo fuel pump access, a lot easier to gain access from above, a td5 you'll definitely need to get the fuel pump out sooner or later. That floor will never come out either, definitely overkill and solid.
