I remember when our landlord use to ask me why are you darker than your parents, they have good skin colour but what happened to you? I simply asked him why does his kids have more fair colour than him, are they not yours then? And my parents just laughed at him and warned him to mind his own business. They have better protection against the sun, but also suffer vitamin D deficiency quite easily if they don't get enough sun exposure. Everyone will deal with different things.
I have noticed lot of celebrities changing their skin color and ended up looking more aged and pale weird. The melanin in your skin makes you more young looking. So please don’t kill it by taking glutathione. To deal with the pigmentation a good vitamin c is more than enough.

My aunt had cancer and doctors especially told her to stay away from "glutathione", he mentioned it because a lot of people were recommending it to her and she ended up asking the doctor this (very good she asked). The doctor immediately without thinking twice said NO .
Guys please research well before getting unnecessary things injected into your body .

How much I can relate with these things. Even from high school my classmates thinking of avoiding sun as they might get dark and even some days of my relatives telling me that you should avoid playing in sun otherwise you will get dark. Thanks to me I never cared about all of these 🤪

When she said that don't be afraid to do outdoor activities because you will get shade darker...idk how many times did I hear my friends/family calling me careless because I am unafraid of getting (I am naturally fair) tanned..I do get sunburned often but tan...I feel more than my colour, it should be my personality and perception with which people should be bothered
Other youtubers who try to sell glutathione as their paid promotions basically have a larger fan base which speaks Hindi and I've always noticed that youtubers who communicate in our very own mother tongue attract more crowd and their channel grows far more rapidly, which also includes a demographic of various educational background which is a good thing. But unfortunately, racism is so deeply ingrained in our society, largely in this uneducated & 'takiya nusi khayalaat wali' public. But despite all of this, these bigger influencers resort to such cheap gimmicks to earn a quick buck instead of using their platform to educate and eradicate such disgusting mentality which is really disappointing.

@Vartika Bhagat Please don't put lemon anywhere on your face! Especially on your lips since the skin is thinner than anywhere else. Lemon is super acidic, it will basically strip your skin exposing it to elements, especially sunburn.
@Vartika Bhagat actually lemon juice is a bit acidic and tends to irritate the skin, and sugar being abrasive. Honey is good since it is a humectant. Watch Skincare by Hyram he goes indepth with it

For lips, I use a thick layer of Boroline on my lips at night with a little bit of tint of a bullet lipstick, in the morning it gives me really natural pink/ light orange/ reddish lips according to the lipstick I used, and really soft n smooth lips, with a little bit of rubbing my lips are all set 😍
That's my hack for beautiful lips.😉

No offence to jovita BUT glutathione is a strong antioxydant just like vitamin c, it's not gonna do anything to ur skin if u were dark from birth (like u when u were a baby) HOWEVER if u were fair when u were a baby but now suddenly if Uve gone few shades darker then glutathione is gonna work for u. NOW THIS IS TOLD BY A DOCTOR ,and I'm not a professional.

I understand what you are saying about loving your skin tone. But, please do some research and educate yourself on glutathione. It’s much more than just a “skin lightening product”. Your body, actually your liver, already produces glutathione. And, it is also found in fruits, vegetables and meats. At extreme higher dosages of glutathione, as a by-product, your skin can lighten. You really sound bias and a little ignorant. Especially on going out into the sun, without proper sunscreen can cause skin damage or at the extreme, skin cancer. I agree on your philosophy on self love and skin tone, but please give accurate information that is within context. It only helps to improve your credibility on everything else.
Whats wrong in taking glutathione....every one is free to have what they want....free to look as they want.....

I totally agree on how companies are currently camaflouging/switch naming products. Hi Jovita, I hope you don't take this negatively, because I do love your channel and your honesty but I think you must be sensitive of the community that you are a part of, so one suggestion - to have you please consider not including any influencer brand product in these "5 beauty products to stop buying" videos especially if it's actually a good product (even if it may not be something revolutionary in the beauty industry). Plus you've not even tried it, and if you see the reviews, almost everyone who used it spoke of how it was different from other blending sponges - so you recommending not to buy it hmmm doesn't make sense (whereas it would if you tried it and you're saying it's the same as product so don't buy it if you have ". Plus, at the end of the day, it's from an influencer like you who poured their effort into making something they believe is useful for consumers, so it comes across as highly negative coming from another influencer. For e.g. if you ever come out with something that you believe in and promote, and it's a good product, how would you feel if another influencer included it in a video called "5 things you need to stop buying" - the community needs more support more than anything, whether you get it as PR or a sponsored thing or not, just respecting another person in the beauty community. Just my two cents. It's completely different if you say it's a product that you won't buy but when you recommend others not too, it just comes across as disrespectful and ignorant, even though I'm sure that's not your intent at all. Sorry, but had to be honest.

I love your reviews but I would like to make an argument on glutathione. It is MARKETED WRONG because people will buy it if marketed as a whitening agent. Glutathione is nothing but an antioxidant and a very strong one. So when we ingest it it clears out the bad radicals of the body and in generally skin looks healthier and brighter. And people confuse it as whitened skin because it helps reduce the photodamage to the skin or any other oxidative damage which can be caused due to any free oxygen radicals produced as a part of any diet or habits and the companies and youtubers (paid PR) use it as an advantage to sell it.
It is given to cancer patients as a supplement to chemotherapy because it belongs to the group of cysteine and helps in reducing the oxidative stress which chemotherapeutic agents cause to the normal body tissues along with the tumor cells (chemo causes damage to the tumor cells and the normal tissues are the collateral damage). And not all the patients are given this because different chemo agents have different mechanism of actions.
It is a brightening agent not whitening agent. I personally love my brown skin. And i love you for speaking about the prejudice against dark skin.
Glutathione is not really needed but sometimes if there is a lot of photodamage to the skin (because India is sunny) people can benefit from it.

I actually love the blendiful! It feels very different than my regular puffs, and it’s only $18 (most good puffs are similar in price so it’s not extravagant). It has replaced all of my face brushes and is much more sanitary if I wash it every night with some bar soap. Love your videos but yeah it’s a little unfair since you haven’t tried it :(

Just Darker skin is not healthy, healthy skin is healthy. I am a light skinned person, not by choice but by birth, and I don't differentiate between darker or lighter skin and I understand that people go through a lot because of this notion in our society. But please don't demean one part of the society to uplift the other. Call out glutathione or fair and lovely, I'll support you. Talk about body positivity and disparities and I'll support you in that too. But please be mindful of what you say before saying it. Just a request from a supporter.

rightly put by you..i bought a highlighter, a color corrector because of the hype and need created by marketing..barely used it..why??because i dont need color correcting..i realized that i could simply use my gold eyeshadow as a highlighter or a brown eyeshadow as a contour/bronzer..i have stopped buying these products..i dont use foundations so i dont buy them to sit on my vanity..i only invest in the products i actually use because lets be real skincare and makeup are expensive..follow, research, explore and invest in products that one really needs☺️☺️

Honestly I am fair skinned and I always hated people every time ppl say “ You are fair and anything and everything suits you” and stuff like that I always kept telling them having melanin is good and appreciate dark skin cuz they are blessed.

Hello jovita...I'm a medico and I would like to give out a few pointers about why glutathione is given to cancer patients. In addition to skin whitening, glutathione ia also an anti-oxidant. Cancer patients undergo chemotherapy which can be toxic and has vigorous side effects, glutathione on the other hand reduces and prevents toxicity, cancer side effects like weight loss, anorexia etc. Also during chemotherapy, the cells in our body undergo cell lysis, glutathione helps in protecting the cells from damage. Everyone knows that it doesn't work how it's shown but people wonder what if it does? It gives a ray of hope to people with dark skin who are made to feel ugly by the society
Okay i had to pause this video to comment, reducing glutathione to a whitening product is kind of unfair , specially oral form of glutathione. Speaking on behalf of my personal experience having a problematic patchy/oily/acne prone skin , glutathione changed my skin game. It not only helped my patchiness but also improved scar healing time .. I didn't see any whitening effect but my quality of skin was improved a great time . The only con is its quite expensive.
As long as you use it for the right reasons there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But the thing is...most of the Indian youtubers out there are advertising gulathion as a whitening product. That's the problem. Jovita doesn't really know much about it that's why she gave us a general opinion . I'm glad it helped your skin though 😊

For lip scrub..i must say i never used it..till date i use Boroline at night..a thick layer..and in the morning i wipe it off with a towel..man that has worked wonders till today..my lips are supple and soft all day long.
2nd point about whitening products..i am a medium to fair skin girl..honestly i feel even we can encourage our dark skin girls to make them feel how beautiful they are..there skin is like chocolate and so glamourous.I went to Goa few months back and i got really tanned and i loved it.I let it be and did not used any product or anything extra to get rid of it.All we need to do first is love and love and love 💖💖💖ourselves unconditionally.If we get to do that nothing ever will bother us.😊

Do I have a red lipstick? Yes, 2! Do I have a nude lipstick? Yes 7. No matter what the offer was, I absolutely didn't need anymore lipstick. We are not stepping out and will probably not for God knows how long. Its going to sit on my desk and get expired. And brands are clearing their stocks as well. The products will not have a very long shelf life. We know all this but still give into FOMO. Maybe because we this huge collections on social media

I dunno how to feel about this and I know you're not the most suitable person to answer this, but during this pandemic my mom has been paranoid about health and sanitization and she's really into these vit.c tablets to boost immunity and makes everyone in the fam to take it as well... And i've noticed ingredients like glutathione and niacinamide in it. So are even vit.c tablets seen as whitening products?
Makeup makes us look what we aren't exactly in our crude form.. hides our blemishes and brightens up our undereyes, changes the colour of lids and artificially brings pink blush to our cheecks.. also changes the colour of our lips which might be not their actual colour. And isn't that just NOT loving the way one exist naturally with all of the actual colour of bare skin included; its very similar to not loving the way your actual skin looks like the actual pigmentation and melanin . People run towards a lighter skin which should not be the approach in my opinion... But a million of us slap ourselves with creamy Matt and ultra thick and full coverage concealers just to make that bare natural skin that we are taught to love and appreciate and that chocolate pigmentation that we should adore... to cover up!
If loving your colour is actually a thing then loving it should come with all the pigmentation and scars and glossy eyes ... Why making it more highted than it is actually "ok" maybe it's not harming your internal system like "drugs for lighter skin tone" but it's affecting once system to understand that a highted skin is absent attribute in them .
Again in my Opinion ..Love the skin; make it happy by inhaling the fresh and take care of it by eating good and using what helps it to heal... Not slapping enough products to make it artificial and tell the world how skincare can heal the damages (if there are any).

If have not used the Tati beauty Blendiful, you must not say that it is like a regular puff. I have seen professional makeup artists use it and they mentioned that the performance is different that a regular sponge. I think its unethical to say not you use it when you have not even tried it yourself.
Maybe she meant it in a way like don't buy it just becoz u like Tati . Also in the end it's just a sponge.

Skin lightening products are not always used for getting fairer skin. I love my wheatish to dusky color but I do use kozic acid for my freckles due to sun damage, I do use sunscreen regularly now for avoiding further damage. So my point is that glutathione kozic acid hydroquinone are useful ingredients when used for right reasons and not for getting fair complexion. I'm happy that u mentioned ABT plastic waste.

As a blogger, I totally agree with you on the glutathione as well as the "multiples of everything". I never do "beauty collection" videos because I keep giving away loads of stuff to friends and family after I'm done reviewing them. No point in me hoarding so many things if they're just going to lie in my dresser and expire....better to give them to people who will use them.

Exactly, the max you need is a cleanser, moisturizer and maybe some serum targeting a specific issue. I dont see the point of having several products like toner, mist, etc.

I should like to add a point that, don't buy any extra make up item during the lockdown time, because as of now, at least in major part of world, almost everyone is at home or wear protective gears that covers our face. so there is no need to buy any makeup items now, as they do have expiry date.

Usually you do a good job but here you bashed a product without even trying! It is same as saying beauty blender is just a round sponge .so why not use a kitchen sponge because it looks like a sponge! You would be knowing how a foundation application differs if we use the tools vs the hand.once you use a good beauty sponge you will know it is different from the ordinary sponges! so would be fair to try a product out and then say- not worth your money !
