An old gem of the N64. I'm 25 now, I used to play this back in the day when I was around 7 years old. It left a huge impression on me. It was unlike anything for its time.
+Vinlandian Lore Yeah, FPS's like Turok and Golden Eye for the N64 set the standard for modern shooters, and some of the newer ones are still not as good.
So true my friend. It left a huge impression on me too, although i was much older than 7 at the time. These old classics for the great n64 , like Turok, Turok 2, Goldeneye etc cannot be touched by the modern hyperadvanced shooters we have today, they're just boring. Kind of funny when the old classics are so simple yet are so entertaining.
I used to own this game back in 1999. 3 year after getting my first N64. Along with that came war gods, quake and duke nukem, ect Oh the memory to this game
This is the only level from any game that I remember legit freaking me out as a kid, and I played plenty of violent games. Something about the music + how dark it is + those awful little jumping dinosaur things that come out of the water. Bravo to the game developers for this level, it was very memorable/creepy.
When the big companies bought up the gaming industry, they ruined it and stifled it . It is now all about money and control freaks !! Not the artistry and innovation of free thinking , imagination , and doing something outside the box . They can have the new crap. I keep my old systems and games . I always come back and play Turok 1 & 2 every year or two. Best 2 games ever, but I will have to add Goldeneye & Halo as number 3 and 4 !! Thank you for the videos man !!!
Your spot on, the games today are total trash. Hold your hand, everyone's a winner. There's no challenge anymore. I play the shit out of my arcade machine, n64, snes and gbc. I see no point in modern consoles, the end of the 360 showed absolutely what was about to come, buy a quarter of the game, then for the price of a game and a half you can buy the rest of the game as dlc. Wow, what a decline from one of the most amazing hobbies to the sad state of affairs today, and clowns still think the game industry won't crash.
This is great quality walkthrough! Looks slightly different than the N64 console version but not by much. I used to play this game when it first came out with my son when he was very young. He is now 24 and I am an old fart of 60! Thanks for the memories. I am now watching this at 4am in simulated 3D on my 55inch LG TV. Fantastic!!! One of my favorite levels of the game,
I can remember if you turn around at the very beginning of this level there is a hidden weapon down the side of the cliff (far right or far left corner). I believe it was the minigun but I could be mistaken, its been a WHILE... Still my fav FPS of ALL TIME and since then left a void in gaming for me that can NEVER be replaced : (
This level is kind of scary. You're walking into a dark barricaded temple and there's no sound, only ambience, and you think you're alone but then some guy in a skeleton suit jumps out and throws bones at you
This game 100% holds up. I just picked it up again recently and it’s just as fun as I remember. It incentivizes exploration so well. This was so ahead of its time. We went from super Mario world to this in very short time. I know it’s not the first FPS ever but my god did it do some things first and do them so well
You know i played this when it came out, i was in my teens, recently i started playing it again and i realized something, this game is dark as all get out, death lurks in every corner and those natives with the blowguns and spears are evil as hell and the leepers are slimy and very fugly, lol
The weird thing about Turok? Is that it was usually easier to run past enemies rather than waste your ammo on them. Especially on the last level. There were so many enemies and just nowhere near enough ammo so you just ran by most every enemy.
Turok Dinosaur Hunter is also my favorites game. After I finished few days ago Prey :) this team should make remake of Turok 1 using Prey engine. So great feeling. Turok 1 Forever :)
This is the only level in this game where I got so lost in it that at some point I paused, took out a paper notebook, copied the in-game map on paper, added all the non-indicated secrets & items & then took time to figure out the shortest all-connecting path (Hamiltonian cycle) so I could 100% it quickly without getting lost.
This would have been the ideal level to introduce the Pur-lin. I would have designed the level so that it starts off with no enemies. You are just walking through corridors covered in darkness, and you can hear the screams in the distance. Then as you are walking through the corridor at 0:42... BOOM the pur-lin break out of the walls.
It took about an hour or longer to beat this level as a kid, so confusing, made it passed level 6 but level 7 was super hard i couldnt beat it got lost so easily, it was super confusing.
I've been playing this game on the n64 all night and I have to say... I love this game but there are just so many things that annoy the fuck out of me that I find notice when I was younger. for instance the guys who spit the darts at you.. it's like you can't dodge them at all. they won't even be looking at you and they still hit you even if you try to strafe them. this level is confusing as hell.
This is by far my least favorite level. Too dark, too enclosed. Just feels out of place. However, the reward for going through it is my favorite level, the treetop village.
Thanks !! Turok is one of my favorites and check it out i made a Turok map for Duke 3d workshop steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=283583776&searchtext=

@@LordMalice6d9 turok never gets the praise it deserves these days. It's goldeneye and perfect dark like it didn't even exist before them
This was always my favorite level of this game. Plus my favorite section of the soundtrack. Atmospheric.
This games soundtrack is soooooooo good.
90's :'( I Miss Those Days

Don't forget about those random blood curdling screams
Couldn't play this level for too long when I was a kid. Those screams scared the hell out of me
It's hilarious how the purr-linn was busy fighting a beetle at 9:30 🤣
Lol
Turok 1 was just too good.
The music was incredible at the time and still holds up better than any other game i can think of.
Idk how i beat this as a kid, but it was so damn rewarding

True, games nowadays are uninspired lazy junk.

I like how at 9:39 when he gets spiritual invincibility everything slows down and gets colorful like he just took some LSD.
andrewvanrhoberts a game so fR a head of its time that it gave my cousin motion sickness

The Catacombs...
Turok's Water Temple.
Key #1 - 2:27
Key #2 - 14:08
But what about Key #3?
After the boss fight Boyo
This needs a latest gen remaster
I bet if i played this game back in the day, the boss would scare the crap out of me. Something about giant insects that just gives me the shivers

This level used to give me the creeps as a kid. The mantis battle was difficult too
This level gave me the creeps!
Them purlins busting through the walls constantly?
@@aussiegamerplays7284 its dark, claustrophobic....and yeah, Pur Lins crashing through walls constantely 😂
The camera is quite motion-sickness inducing. I don't remember it being that bad.

Very nice how quickly you complete all the levels.
8:04 A reason I pushed on. Get past the Leapers. *Shudders*
This game is fully playable on all versions of windows newer then win 95 (
Somewehere there in the catacombs there's one wall which you can go through. Don't know anymore, what's on the other side.
There's actually several invisible walls in this level
Where is the damn particle cannon? cant find it :(

A legit remaster of this game in the Unreal Engine would be amazing
It sounds like Steve Roach did the score for this level

a masterpiece. Way better than the remake by Night Dive Studio.
THAT WAS SICK!!!
how do you use mouse and keyboard?
i didnt beat this game when i was a kid because i didnt have a save pack best believe ima beat it now. im 27
Just curious is this game (PC version) playable on Windows XP or Windows 7? I heard that it is only useable on windows 98 with specific graphic card.
Just need to activate the mouse in the options menu before starting the game.
I am Turok 😂😂😂
looks smooth, PC Version?
Yeah, and it is even running too fast. I didn't cap the framerate, so there is a big speed boost.
+EvilGames Oh, ok. I was wondering why the music didn't change at different points (like when underwater).
Este es nivel más difícil del juego nunca lo pude terminar
I hate the scepter piece on this level. It just kills the pace crawling through those drains.
Streets of Paris The Catacombs Looks Kind of The Same
the glitch jump in tunnel stairs ;P
asi nomas jaja
Very creepy level if you ask me
i masterd it
Did you use a knife only the entire game? You're hardcore dude.
