I'd like to use 12mm tools (that I already have) but the dovetail bottoms out against the post and the tools cannot be lowered enough. Maybe I could shorten the bottom of the dovetail... - At 13:53 the post is already installed but I don't see how both parts are held together and how the bottom half secures to the lathe. Thanks!
Thank you very much, alternatively you could cut a relive into the solid Toolpost instead of shortening the dovetail. Might be easier. The structure I cut into the bottom part interlocks with the surface for the compound slide and than its bolted to the lathe with the screw from the compound slide and then the top part is pinned and srewd to the bottom part.
