I know you are working with what you have lore wise so it's not yourself I'm frustrated with - so much, but this just brings halo into warhammer territory. That's everything in the creation of the ring from the extraction of raw materials to the wildlife and trees. One meter cubed a second for three months. That's just for the newest rings sizes. Yet we see in infinite, the forerunners manufacturing wasn't that fast, as we see the ring repairing itself. Their whole forge worlds etc simply defy well.....science. you'd have to build those forges to build everything else etc, the time it would take without "fantasy" is simply impossible. From ships sizes being not what they are claimed to be, to armour thickness. A unsc frigates armour is supposed to be what, two meters thick? Yet in infinite we get to see multiple crashed frigates with armour at most two feet thick comprised of different layers. And a CCS is supposed to have armour thirty meters thick, THIRTY METRES!!! And the CAS doesn't use repulsor engines. They are shown to operate like ion thruster engines. And this makes perfect sense since the electrons can be siphoned from the fusion reactors. I'll give you an example of a craft using replusor engines a goauld hatak warship. This craft can rotate 360 on its axis (like a typical saucer ufo), while encircling an enemy ship at the same time and there is NO sight of conventional thrusters anywhere. That's using advanced gravidics, kind of like the forerunners torsion drives. But the CAS is visually shown to use what look like ion thrusters, not replusor engines.

Lukewarm take: Bungie should have never introduced the Supercarrier as a concept. The Assault Carrier is awesome and raising the stakes in Reach by going 'what if Assault Carrier, but BIGGER' was dumb and lazy.
If they were more unique looking I would like the CSO a bit more, I personally think each CSO is custom, and that the Long Night of Solace looking exactly like a CAS is unique
I can't give enough props to his use of Science and engineering principles in breaking down fictional technology. It makes it feel more realistic, which makes this one of the most unique and entertaining channels on youtube
If a UNSC Slipspace reactor like the Spirit of Fire's is powerful enough to cause a star to explode destroying a Forerunner shield world in the process, imagine what the full capabilities of a Covenant Slipspace reactor from a Covenant Assault Carrier can do in energy output. A Frigate's slipspace reactor vaporised half a Super Covenant Carrier's main body that was in it's radius.
It didn't vaporise it. As Kat explained, in the intro to the mission, the slip space drive on the civilian ship worked fine, but only teleported half of the ship because it was mounted wrong. That's the same of what happened to the supercarrier. The middle section was teleported, breaking the ship apart. The slip space drive worked as intended
@@thorshammer7883 no, the star inside the shield world did explode. The slip space drive caused the reaction to take place, but it was only really a catalyst to the explosion, with the star doing most of the work.
Funny, I was about to ask if Repulsor engines would be hazardous to nearby ships or personnel, but you answered it for me lol The covenant are weird, they generally have a more elegant and subtle style for their technology, but the idea of creating an artificial mass or singularity seems a bit reckless
I haven't even watched the whole video yet. But from just that intro, I can already tell the quality and depth I'm about to experience. Your channel does such an amazing work with these Halo vids. Keep up the blessing work and you shall walk the path to the divine beyond. Garanteed.
I like Halo, I am playing and loving the games (to a varying degree thb), but I am no hardcore fan. Never read a Halo book or a comic, did not even watch that tv show. But I enjoy this channel and this content thoroughly, it's always a joy to see a long video being uploaded. From the perspective of a an old hardcore sci-fi fan and nerd, because that is what I _am,_ this channel surely delivers some of the best fan made content I have seen in my soon 50 years. Ever thought of having a bit on the side with Battletech, The Expanse or my big love, Warhammer 40K? Because I would love to see what you make of those universes!
Good video, but you forgot to mention the different design patterns for the CAS. There are 2 (some argue 3) known, the Kerel and Syfon pattern, and while it is a minor detail considering there's no stated difference other than the secondary hanger, I thought it worth a mention.
There is 3 Ones a special flagship variant, ones a mass produced variant, and the other is between. There's a difference in technology and overall power and status between them
@@majesticwolfyguy6629 Nothing has ever been directly stated (the secondary hanger is pure fan speculation) out side of the fact that the Kerel-pattern is a rare Prophet approved variant, I've checked. But that's certainly a nice idea.
As always, you've made a breakdown of extremely high quality! Just one little correction: 50 million degrees Celsius equals about 90 million degrees Fahrenheit. Not trying to be nit-picky, but i just wanted to let you know, as I'm sure that it was just a little conversion error or something like that when making the script. Cheers! :)

I'm not going to lie if we had enough information to do a Most Detailed video on it I'd want one on the Marathon class Heavy Cruiser, but alas I'll have to accept the fact Halo moved so far past when that ship was useful. Great video, this was one of my favorite Covenant Ships too!!!!!!!
In the annals of the vast covenant armada, few ships strike more fear then the Assault Carrier. For many it is the last thing they will ever see if they were unlucky enough to have been born on a world visited by the Forerunners.
I think the only ship more bonkers than this in the Covenant navy is the CSO-Class Supercarrier. We've only ever seen one as far as I know - the Long Night Of Solace - in Halo Reach and that thing was positively monolithic. For comparison, the CAS-Class Assault Carrier is 5,347m in length, or 3.32 miles imperial. The CSO? 28,960 meters. *EIGHTEEN MILES LONG.* Not to mention it's mass, dwarfing the CAS-Class Carrier's 2.7 billion tonnes with a staggering *ONE HUNDRED FIFTY TWO BILLION* tonnes... Good. Freaking. Grief.
I still wonder how the heck something that massive managed to cloak itself in atmosphere... I don't think destroying a few relays will cut it or just turning on reflective panels, etc...
@@stylesrj I was under the impression that the Long Night Of Solace wasn't decloaked by anything the UNSC did, but rather it was like "Okay, they know we're here now." Cue decloak and there goes the Grafton. As for how they cloaked it? Hell if I know. Could be a number of things but a part of me likes to think that it wasn't in atmosphere. Or if it was, it was high enough that it wasn't as detectable, and with all of the UNSC forces scrambling to get the situation under control, no one thought to look for cloaked signatures? idk, it's a reach at best.
@@HazopGaze That's what I'm getting at though... the ship is huge and hiding such a thing should be rather impossible considering how the lore even establishes that you got people watching Slipspace for that sort of thing. Taking out a few relays in an area wouldn't really do much except perhaps make it easier for a commando team to slip in but a ship that big entering the system is going to get all the fleets and Super MACs pointed at it. I think supplementary lore says that ONI let the ship get through so they could try and capture & study it, but that sounds like a bit of a stretch and as dumb as say shipping a T-Rex directly to Times Square in New York City. Actually another concern is that a ship of that size doesn't seem to have any sort of escort. I think the Corvettes probably were onboard the hangars. Long Night Of Solace should have been a smaller vessel but Bungie was like "We gotta go really big and excessive like WH40K!"
@@stylesrj Hey if we're lucky, the insanity of the CSO might get 00 ranting like he did with the MACs. Not that I want to stress the guy out, of course, but it was pretty funny.
is there a source for the CAS surviving 2 supermac blasts? as far as I know in the main halo games it is never explicitly shown, just implied since the solem pennance got down to earth without being destroyed
truthfully if it was just about destroying the ship I'd say it's all about where you aim but I imagine most times they'd engage a CAS they'd need a cruiser to knock the shields out before they could really do much
@@jeremygair4007 because it allows them to have more firepower plus I doubt most would go for broadside attacks when you can load a pelican with a bomb and board them or even just pull a grunt and hit em in your last seconds you gotta remember this isn't the same navy we have they have the benefit of 3-D movement and technology that would follow suit
@TimTamTon None of that really matters. You are adding an unnecessary step. All of those you mentioned would be examples. Whether it's 2D or 3D doesn't matter. The key point us this. You are in range with capital class weapon. Why complicate the Jill chain with droending on independently launched bombers? It is the difference in application between a battleship and carrier. They do different things. If you have both, why shoot an opposing ship to batter down its defenses to only the wait for your carrier to sortie out a strike package. Keep firing. Range has been established.
From what cutscene/Trailer is the part 01:23 to 01:32 ? (the part where we see master chiefs HUD as he activates the bomb and the different explosion animation). It is not in the H2A cutscene, where is it from?

Lukewarm take: Bungie should have never introduced the Supercarrier as a concept. The Assault Carrier is awesome and raising the stakes in Reach by going 'what if Assault Carrier, but BIGGER' was dumb and lazy.
If they were more unique looking I would like the CSO a bit more, I personally think each CSO is custom, and that the Long Night of Solace looking exactly like a CAS is unique
That intro actually made me run for cover
@@tfw8738
Still incredibly powerful.
@@tfw8738
Did they teleport the core of the artifical star as well?
@@thorshammer7883 no, the star inside the shield world did explode. The slip space drive caused the reaction to take place, but it was only really a catalyst to the explosion, with the star doing most of the work.
@@tfw8738
So it did cause to explode. That should be a attack potency feat.
"What am I going to do with a sniper rifle on a ship?"
have you seen the interiors of those carriers?
Funny, I was about to ask if Repulsor engines would be hazardous to nearby ships or personnel, but you answered it for me lol
The covenant are weird, they generally have a more elegant and subtle style for their technology, but the idea of creating an artificial mass or singularity seems a bit reckless
As always nothing but outstanding and unmatched work! Makes the rest of gaming channels feel lacking.
I wasn’t expecting a whole Materials Science lecture. This is peak lore analysis
No freaking way , bro this was so immaculate.
I still hope the CPV heavy destroyer can still be in discussion.
I haven't even watched the whole video yet. But from just that intro, I can already tell the quality and depth I'm about to experience. Your channel does such an amazing work with these Halo vids. Keep up the blessing work and you shall walk the path to the divine beyond. Garanteed.
Another amazing lore heavy video. Absolute favorite channel for this information. I’m looking forward to seeing if you take on the CSO Supercarrier
There is 3
Ones a special flagship variant, ones a mass produced variant, and the other is between.
Hands down the best ship breakdown intro to date. Hope you do more like this in the future. Also, one of my favorite ships in the lore
Can I PLEASE get a link to that beat at the beginning of the video? It goes so hard even my wife enjoyed it 🥲
Ayo 343, When you giving Installation a Voicing role in Halo 🤣
" CAS Class Assault Carrier "
Tʜᴇ Cᴏᴠᴇɴᴀɴᴛ's ᴀʟʟ ᴍɪɢʜᴛʏ ᴛᴏɴᴋᴇʀ .
that's why they lost they tonked we bonked
That beginning needs to be turned into an edit someone please it goes so hard and has so much potential
Me while he was talking about materials:
"👁👁interesting"
What is the song in the beginning i can find it ik its from halo 2
Impart
As always, you've made a breakdown of extremely high quality! Just one little correction: 50 million degrees Celsius equals about 90 million degrees Fahrenheit. Not trying to be nit-picky, but i just wanted to let you know, as I'm sure that it was just a little conversion error or something like that when making the script.
Cheers! :)
heck all the info he's dropping I'm surprised that's the only minor issue to pop up
Installation 00: The science of Halo.
I'd pay 100 US dollars for the script. NO CAP.
Wooooooo
Awesome intro. I loved "without mercy or regret." And the anniversary track!
Proof the fans care more about the franchise than the publisher.
one last comment.
covenant vs imperium who can win?
the imperium's sheer numbers and the "wall of guns" strategy.
or the cov's hi-tech military equipment, with great numbers of fighting units?
i know its a stupid question, but hey i like these!
51 GT is enough to go through three CCS class vessels lowest calc for IOM is ~300 GT per macro salvo with the higher ones being in the Petatons
shit the biggest issue is would become who has more cannon fodder to outlast the other lol
@@YEETUSDAFEETUS Xd true!
@@TheLehi5 but I will say that'd be a helluva fight to fanatic groups that refuse to lose going at it they'd make the UNSC/covenant war look like a week long fight lol
What is the name of the opening song? It’s a straight banger
You are the last bastion of positive Halo on UA-cam. Please don’t quit.
Do a CSO CLASS SUPERCARRIER BREAKDOWN.
Wondered what thr Marines and ODST were thinking when they were sitting inside the Shadow of Intent?
@@HazopGaze
That's what I'm getting at though... the ship is huge and hiding such a thing should be rather impossible considering how the lore even establishes that you got people watching Slipspace for that sort of thing.
@@HazopGaze
And now I'm concerned that either I have watched the video but forgot or that I need to watch the Super MAC video ASAP :D
is there a source for the CAS surviving 2 supermac blasts? as far as I know in the main halo games it is never explicitly shown, just implied since the solem pennance got down to earth without being destroyed
I've been waiting patiently day by day for this video to come out! Ever since the trailer!
"I'm going to flesh it out as humanilty possible".... He.... Ehehehehehe... He... He... Lemme just reload my SPNKR
What are the calculations for yield to collapse a shield, destroy a capital ship? Are we believing broadswords are unleashing gigaton level payloads?
truthfully if it was just about destroying the ship I'd say it's all about where you aim but I imagine most times they'd engage a CAS they'd need a cruiser to knock the shields out before they could really do much
@TimTamTon Then if they're in range with the cruisers capital weaponry why bother with a broadsword?
Also the idea of gigaton firepower is reaching the absurdity of 40K calculations.
From what cutscene/Trailer is the part 01:23 to 01:32 ? (the part where we see master chiefs HUD as he activates the bomb and the different explosion animation). It is not in the H2A cutscene, where is it from?
Not sure if you're still doing weapon break downs, but would be curious if there's an in universe explanation for why Infinite's sentinel beam has recoil. Shouldn't an energy beam have less recoil?
I tried to find other halo lore channels but none can compare to Installation 00’s. I’d rather rewatch every video time and time over. Just something about this guy is complex and interesting!
