I genuinely hope you are being honest. Most fans of this film become aggressive when someone else points out that Jingle All The Way is the biggest pile of Reindeer cr@p ever made.
Haha it seems like Arnold is always saying "Everybody get down!" in his movies. But in this one he says "put the cookie down!"haha. But minty's impression was good.
A lot of people consider this movie cynical because it focuses on the commercial nature of Christmas. But when you're a kid that's the best part of Christmas. When you get older you cherish those memories more and the people around you but as a kid it's about the gifts baby and this movie realizes that and that's why I love it.
I loved the film when I was a kid. Nowadays, my preferred version of the film is the "Family Fun" Extended Edition which also includes a scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger buying a Turbo Man action figure from Lisa Simpson herself (Yeardley Smith), only to reveal that it's a Booster action figure.
I love that movie! It is a must watch for me every year in December. Also, Verne Troyer and Jim Belushi were far from the only cameos in that movie. Martin Mull cameo'd as the DJ at the radio station, Robert Conrad as the motorcycle cop, Richard Moll as Dementor in the opening scene. Saturday Night Live alums Chris Parnell and Laraine Newman also had cameo's. And, the pro wrestler known as THE BIG SHOW was the Santa who sent Verne Troyer flying across the room. RIP to Verne, Martin Mull, and Robert Conrad.
Its also got Tom Petty and his song Its Christmas TIme Again...which at that point I had not heard. And that is a fantastic Christmas Song too...like all of Tom Petty and his work its a rocking tune...
I actually watched this on my flight home from overseas a bit over a week ago. Hadn't seen it in years, & I enjoyed it very much. I love the "oh, poor baby" scene, & I also love how Arnold clearly enjoyed it when the tiny Santa went flying lol.
Yes its hysterical. And its no wonder he gets hacked off and starts wrecking the place. And kicking the crap out of all the Santa con artists....I just got back from York Christmas Market today. I am in England, English etc....And there were con artists there trying it on in the market square with knock off goods on stalls...so it still goes on everywhere at Christmas. All Arnie is doing is getting back at the shysters, something most Christmas shoppers would love to do.....Its a film that shows the best and worst aspects of human nature and Christmas all in one movie and its not just a run of the mill slushy romance, or cheesy comedy that happens to have a Christmas backdrop...
Yessss tots would be a good one to see a couple more I’d like to see minty do also with robin williams is Father’s Day and insomnia loved robin in those movies but shooo I’d like to see minty cover all of robins movies
This is one of my top 10 favorite X-Mas movies. And it isn't awful. It doesn't compare to the best version of A X-Mas Carol or anything like that, but it's definitely not awful.
Yep, I am Joyfully WITH the positive "Jingle" fans! I watch it every year! Yes it's silly, but I still get chuckles, and enjoyment! I think the message is accurate also, so there's that as well! 😁👍 Btw, MINTY, your Arnie voice is getting better and better! Great Job! KEEP IT UP! 😊 MERRY CHRISTMAS Ya'll
This movie has so many funny moments especially with the late Phil Hartman RIP as the perverted neighbor but the fact that Arnold literally runs into the same cop afew times played by Robert Conrad that pulls him over in the beginning of the film had me in stitches.
I saw this movie in the theater when I was 9 and it's been my favorite Christmas movie ever since. It really captures that hype and excitement of being a kid wanting the hot new toy during the holidays.
There’s actually a sequel but… it’s honestly not good at all. Non of the original cast appear and it focuses on a different dad character played by Larry the cable guy. I wouldn’t recommend it 😅
I actually worked at Toys R Us in Orange County california the year that Tickle Me Elmo came out and got some major PTSD flash backs when it was brought up lol. One night (might have been Black Friday) we actually had a man pull a gun on another man out in the parking lot and stole his Elmo. I have no idea if the cops got the gunman, but they showed up and it was a big ordeal for a bit. Great memories... 🙄
I love absolutely everything about this movie. Not just one of my favorite Christmas movies but one of my favorite movies in general. The older I get the more relatable it becomes
The mum in this film is awful. Poor Arnie is working hard so they can maintain an upper middleclass lifestyle while she chills at home and is like OMG you never spend time with us... Poor guy. Love this movie!
They always do that in these movies. They love the lifestyle but somehow don’t actually want the man to work to get it. Same thing in Hook and Mary Poppins. Jingle is still awesome though! 😂
As a 90s kid, this was literally my childhood with my brothers and sisters. My mom never complained tho. Now, we're in our 30s & 40s and my dad is around all the time. Sure, he had to sacrifice his time but it was how we grew up well off and successful as adults. Now he gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor but surrounding himself with grandchildren.
Excellent job on this review video! I love Jingle all the way. Still a Christmas season classic! I love the crazy fight scene with the reindeer! This movie may have a corny plot but it certainly knew how to use Arnie’s action skills well. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Merry Christmas! And good luck with your Christmas shopping!
Heh...Christmas Vacation...that one is pure gold. I have seen it a million times, yet I still die laughing when he is up the ladder and it slides back together to its short length and he ends up back on the ground where he started trying to work out what went wrong. That and the ice from the gutter flying across the street and smashing the window and wrecking the stereo system of the two pretentious twits that life next door....and his lusting over the shop sales girl and Freudian slip of language with her....when he goes off on the rant about his boss at the end I still laugh till I cry...I had an ex boss that I felt EXACTLY that way about...see my post further up....
Jingle all the way brings back such wonderful, nostalgic, '90s Christmas memories, for me!! This is a bonafied classic, in the same vein as Miracle on 34th Street, as far as I'm concerned!! Minty, thanks for telling me about the existence of the family fun editon of Jingle All the Way. I will be buying that version, to watch this year!
I didn't realize people disliked this film so harshly? I love it, watch it a few times during the Christmas season. I never took away the commercial vibe of it, yeah its about "the quest for a toy" but it also wasn't? Howard is so wrapped up in making up for the guilt of failing to be present for his son he tries to buy it and goes through hell for it, but in the end the kid doesn't even care about it, they just want their dad. Maybe thats what a lot of some of this stuff is subconsciously. Buying affection because you have the money but not the time/energy. Its all very cats in the cradle.
Funniest part of the whole movie: was in the diner when howard and myron were talking and howard was hallucinating and saw his son jamie dressed as myron and jamie raised a flask and said: HERE'S TO YOU DAD 😂😂😂 i still till this very day i can't watch that part without laughing hysterically.
I watch this every year. I have so many fond memories watching with my family. I remember my mom yelling at the screen when Rita Wilson was surprised when Howard took his helmet because he's the only one in town with that accent. My mom passed 14 years ago and my daughter and i always yell at Rita during that scene.
I loved this movie growing up. My brother and I got Turbo Man dolls for the holiday 1996. Still have it to this day. Even bought the new one Funko put out a few years ago so I have one in box.
This my favorite Christmas Movie. Tons of Classic Christmas movies and this is number one for me. Hey Minty, do you think you can do a 10 things you didn't know about LOST?
His last name is spelled Wight not White like the legendary actress from the Golden Girls or the character from the teacher turned drug kingpin in Breaking Bad.
so... I run a christmas lights show, and the playlists are completely and utterly random, I can only tell you what age range a given half hour might target but not which songs will show up in what order, I paused your video as you were showing the turbo man figure off and were playing run run Rudolf... it took me a moment to realise why i could still hear the song playing
I finally watched this with my 5 year old nephew and then pulled out the TurboMan toy mid movie. He paused... and then said, "YOU HAVE IT!" It was so awesomely meta hahaha.
I don’t care what anyone says. This is one of the funniest Christmas movies ever made. Rest in Peace Phil Hartman
I agree. I dont know why it gets all the hate
Scrolled down to say the same thing. I have never heard anything but appreciation from people who saw this movie.
🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️
Absolutely agree
I genuinely hope you are being honest. Most fans of this film become aggressive when someone else points out that Jingle All The Way is the biggest pile of Reindeer cr@p ever made.
This is one of the best Christmas movies. Period.
Agreed
Next to It's a Wonderful Life.
Dame right
Arnold should've done more Christmas movies 🥲
Don't forget you're my number 1 customer.
I hope he closes with that.
That's exactly what Brian Levant wrote on the Box of my Turbo-Man action figure.
NO WAIT LIZ lol
@@oshikuru09**hangs up angrily**
Yup.. comin from the WHEREHOUSE not WAREHOUSE 😂
I must admit, Jingle All The Way is a guilty pleasure for me.
Nothing guilty about it, it's class
😅😅😅
Same. I watch it at least once a week during the month of December.
@@abdulhammouda4884
I wouldn't say class but I do love it. Phil Hartman was amazing though!
Same bro 😂
Also The giant Santa was played by The Big Show from WWE
I was going to mention that when I was watching this video
Met him in Miami, awesome person. 😃
at the time i think he was stil in wcw as the giant
@MrDEW5150 yeah me too.
@@randyvoid155that is correct Hollywood Hogan mentioned it in a promo back in WCW.
I grew up with this movie. I have to watch it every Christmas holiday
Still one of my favorite Christmas movies. Ill never forget my mom taking me to the theater when i was a kid. I watch it every December
Same! 😂😹🤣
Ive never heard of anybody watching this in the theater😅so cool
I wasnt allowed to go to theaters, so my mom rented it for me from the Wherehouse. Arnold and Van Damme were my favorite actors, growing up
I skipped college on a January Monday morning in 1997 to see this at the theatre. Totally worth it! 😁
I can’t go a Christmas without watching it. It’s a classic. Just watched it last night lol
and you didn't invite me over? :*(
Worth a mention that Chris Columbus also wrote Gremlins. Dude knows the dark, sinister side of Christmas, in a comedic light...
This is still a christmas favorite. Takes me back to when I worked at Toys R US on Black Friday. Phil Hartman and SInbad were the best.
I too worked at toys r us during the tickle me Elmo…only time I’ve seen elderly people fighting in a store
Toys R US was my first job when I was 16. Good times🙂
Minty...your Arnold impersonations make my day!!! LOL!!
It was PERFECT!❤
Haha it seems like Arnold is always saying "Everybody get down!" in his movies. But in this one he says "put the cookie down!"haha. But minty's impression was good.
It's definitely one of the better ones out there.
A lot of people consider this movie cynical because it focuses on the commercial nature of Christmas. But when you're a kid that's the best part of Christmas. When you get older you cherish those memories more and the people around you but as a kid it's about the gifts baby and this movie realizes that and that's why I love it.
I would also add that at the end of the movie, Jamie learns that it isnt by his actions toward Sinbad.
@J23LA24 yeah the film's message at the end definitely moves away from the commercialism and the frenzy of the earlier parts of the movie.
Another Christmas, classic film jingle all the way is such a fun film
That really was a bomb? This is a sick world we live in! Sick people!” 😂 -Sinbad/Myron Larabee
😂😂
He wasn’t wrong though. There really are messed up people in the world 😳
I'm glad I saw this in cinemas when I was younger because while it was incredibly goofy, it was a fun day out.
I loved the film when I was a kid.
Nowadays, my preferred version of
the film is the "Family Fun" Extended
Edition which also includes a scene
with Arnold Schwarzenegger buying
a Turbo Man action figure from

😯 why is this not the definitive version now!

@Simon-xc5oy I like that song, and I like Tom Petty. Free falling is my favorite of his. That movie is also where I know the song Backdoor Santa from
Paul Wight, The Big Show, was also one of the Santas that Arnold fights
AKA Captain Insano.
Great movie watch it every year
By far my favourite Christmas film! It was awesome then and still is. Minty, do 10 things about "Dazed and Confused" & "Hackers"
I just watched this movie on Sunday. I watch it pretty much every year.
"PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN, MINTY!! NOW!!!"
My favorite movie! 🎄❤️
I actually watched this on my flight home from overseas a bit over a week ago. Hadn't seen it in years, & I enjoyed it very much. I love the "oh, poor baby" scene, & I also love how Arnold clearly enjoyed it when the tiny Santa went flying lol.
Loved it! My favorite part is when he tries the sound on the knockoff Turbo Man doll and it talks in Spanish : “soy el hombre de turbo!”
Yes its hysterical. And its no wonder he gets hacked off and starts wrecking the place. And kicking the crap out of all the Santa con artists....I just got back from York Christmas Market today.
