Did anyone in 1969 buy a New Mustang and put it away never to drive it ?

Although that may have happened, it is unlikely since at the time, new '69 Mustangs were not expected to be a collector car in the future. Even a new '69 Shelby were purchased to be driven and not put into storage for a future collectable. Some of the lowest mileage Mustangs are Boss 429s, which were raced down the quarter mile with very little street time.
