Glad you feel that way Tara. This country needs more people who love and care for it. Us kiwis tend to undervalue the beauty and all the things we've got going for us. Its when you experience the societal problems in other countries that wakes us up.
Our family moved to NZ in 1999 from the uk, i went back last year in june 2023 to the uk for the first time in 24yrs and just came back to NZ 2weeks ago to live, all i can say is, NZ is a million times better then the uk, i took NZ for granted while i lived here and didnt realise what i had living in new Zealand, its so damn good to be back, the weather, the people, the scenery, the roads, just everything is better here. Im lucky i have citizenship for both countrys so i dont need a visa for either country's.
I reluctantly moved to Australia from NZ 50 years ago for my then husband's job. I stay here in Australia now to be close to my children and grandchildren. I miss New Zealand so much, so I visit often. I have brothers in Christchurch and Nelson and a nephew in Wellington. I had ancestors on the first settler ship to Nelson around 1840.
