I usually set the date before (1 day behind) as long as the date isn't transitioning yet, and then spin the hands until it changes date and reaches the correct time
Yess exactly... That's how it should be done..... I Don understand the instructions from the video......
You just saved me a lot of confusion
That orient is gorgeous
I got one a week ago, it's awesome!
@@youtubecensors5419do you think it would be a good starter watch?
@@ddotkaan I think so. It's my second Orient (aside from a Bambino) and I have a bunch of autos under $1,000, but I got this one as a work watch since it seemed tough, had everything I wanted, and if I busted it it's cheap to replace. I was unprepared for how great it felt on and how beautiful the dial is (red dial), the lume is very sensitive and way better than I expected. I took out a link and adjusted the quick adjustment pin and it is very comfortable. In fact, I haven't worn any of my other watches since I got this one! So yes, I think if you want a medium size sport watch that's automatic, I can't think of a watch that for the price is anywhere near as good. I bought a second one already in case something happens to this one so I have a backup!
If you correct the date like this, you never know if the watch is set for AM of PM (and thus when the date changes over). I always change time until the date switches over, then I know it’s set at midnight. After that I move the time to around 6 AM to correct the date and then the time.
In step 5 they say to set the day and date to the one before the current. Then, step 6, advance the time to the be correct on the next day (past midnight), so you know if it’s AM or PM.
Your way works too and the way I do it. We first find AM / PM and then set date and time. He does the opposite.
That kamasu is beautiful
I think saying too much has somewhat complicated this video.... let me summarise for anyone who's interested.....
1. any mechanical watch slowly starts to change its day and date by the time of 9PM to 4AM...
2. During this time period also known as 'danger period' you should not change any day and date.
3. If you do change the date and day between 9pm to 4am, the internal gears tends to pressure up which may cause the day date feature to malfunction like it'll not change the day and date properly at midnight or so on
4. So you should first set the time around 6:30/6:35 which is a middle ground between 4 to 9
5. Then set the previous day and date in your watch
6. And then start to manually set the time till the current day and date appears in the watchface
7. And finally set the proper time
I know this might seems a lot but if you want your day date complication to work properly you should do this.... Hope this helps😊😊
Nice explanation easy to understand ❤
Thanks!
Please do a video on franken watches
I don't care about the date, so I start the "sleeping" watch at the time position of the hands (I set an alarm clock)...that way I keep the crown mechanism from wear out
Mate if you change the date on a quartz watch between nine and three will it damage the date wheel by any way
If it is analog, AKA has a day/day-date window and has hands, it's susceptible to the same thing.
I was struggling to change the date on my submariner Rolex
Please make a video on how to set a Rolex daytona😊
There’s no date complication so it’s literally just set the time and screw the crown back in. No day/date watches are the easiest to set the time.
Excuse me, ¿What's the red's one exact model?
I couldn't tell you exact model number or anything as I'm new to watches but I think this is an "orient kamasu"
I think it comes with a different original bracelet than the jubilee which you see on his
@@nixweldon1618 Thanks you so much mate💪🏻
@@D4_n1_ no problem g!
Hmm is it not better to wind the watch a bit and then set the time, that way when you push the crown back in it starts right away making it easier to get an accurate time.
What model is that seiko watch, it it’s beautiful
Seiko 5 SRPE51K1
Thank you
What happens if it doesnt run between 9pm to 6am (danger hours) ? Say if its not wound.
Que?

Nothing happens as long as you're not changing the date while those hands are in those spots.
@@cldream but i change the date after i wind my watch and maybe after 5-10 mins i set my date. Everyone suggest to put at 6 or 6:30. Thats how i change it.
This way if the time is between 9-3 you have to advance, then set day date, then wind ahead 24h + to the correct time.
If you instead advance the time past 12 first you will know if it is AM or PM by whether the date changes. You can set the time before the date this way. (as long as it isn’t between 9PM and 3AM, and I never have to set the day or date at those hours).
This saves the extra step of going forward to the next day to set the time. Say you pick up your watch at 7AM. Simply set the time, then set the date. That easy.
Sir I recently got my Seiko watch serviced but now I'm facing problem....
In my watch day changes in mid-night and Date changes at day(12 O'clock).... Plz help me out 🙏🙏🙏🙏
its not your fault.... the service centre has messed up the day date calibration.... talk to them they'll solve this problem that they've created in the first place
Used Casio edifice chronograph watch ⌚ Japanese movement quartz tide temprature compass ❤🎉
shoot im gonna need some TIME to SET that up ;) (i think i SCREWED UP hahahahah)
Im sleeping during that time so i dont have to worry
Someone tell me the name of the casio
What is that bracelet called on you Kamasu?
Strapcode Jubilee, I highly recommend it, looks amazing on my red Kamasu!
This is the main reason why I prefer Quartz. 😂
Still have to adjust the date every couple of months, unless it’s radio controlled or digital ..
Analog quartz watches have the same geartrain as a mechanical/automatic one for time and datd, just without the spring/escapement that makes it tick-tick-tick.
This is why I prefer seiko astron
@@e28forever30 This is the main reason i prefer a digital casio.
Why only this way¿
Is it safe on a 6:00?
Yeah
Does anyone really know what date is ?
Wow
Or… just spend several minutes moving the hands so that the date ticks over at midnight for several days…
Or you can just look at your phone…..
Jk I’m actually a huge watch guy and that red dial on the orient is sensational
And the point goes to Quartz
Even easier...just don't set the date.
L take
Or don't buy watch
I thought mechanical watches should not go counter clockwise when setting the time?
Me watching this while wearing my Huawei band 8😂👍🏻
This is the worst possible way to set your watch. You will never know if irs am or pm
….& then stop biting your nails to the nubs….& go.
My watch running out of wind during the danger hours: 🫠
You can change the time during the danger hours also. No problem
