    Michael Jordan in 1987-1988 |
    Quite possibly the greatest season in modern day sports history. 1988 cemented Jordan's status as the best 2-way force in the NBA, and the Michael Jordan phenomenon was well under way globally.

    Man, the only other single season I'd put in this class is Olajuwon in '93-'94, where he won MVP, DPOY, and Finals MVP. What Jordan was doing is kinda hard to comprehend. A legit one man wrecking crew.

    MJ's best individual season indeed. What's impressive is that it was only his 3rd full season as a pro, and he practically won every individual award possible. To me, 80s MJ is actually the separator and reason why he's the GOAT. Many stars have won multiple rings and are in the GOAT conversation, like Kobe, Kareem and LeBron. But no other player in NBA history dominated both offensively and defensively like MJ did in the 80s, and the 87-88 season was the peak of that. On top of it all, he was a high-flying and athletic freak he provided endless showtime plays/moves. When you think about it, there is really no other comparison.

    It’s my favorite MJ season of all time! That 88 season was the greatest season ever by any NBA player it was insane! Also his athleticism was peak!

    • @George2647g
      @George2647g День тому

      it was what? His third season in the nba? And he already completely and utterly dominated 'the game of basketball' and it was entirely his to own. He could have called it quits right there and been remembered as one of the greats.. just insane.. instead he went on to win SIX championships...
      How
      Why are we comparing him to others like lebron? It's an insult to him and 'the game of basketball' honestly..

    Watching this era of basketball will never get old. We were spoiled in the 80s & 90s. We had the best video games, the best baseball, the best wrestling, the best basketball, the best football, the best movies, & the best music.
    What other generation can say that they had Rocky Balboa, Hulkamania, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, the NWA, the NWO, Ken Griffey Jr, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicholas, Jurassic Park, Braveheart, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Dr J, Eminem, Wu-Tang Clan, Robin Williams, George Carlin, Johnny Carson, Nintendo, Sega, Arcades, AOL instant messenger dungeons & dragons, personal computers at home, and didn't have to worry about being politically correct or picking up chicks or being yourself.
    That is why today's generation steal so much from us and wishes they could be us. They hate us because they ain't us!

      Don't forget a prime Mike Tyson. The 80's were unbelievable as far as entertainment went. It was also the last outlaw decade before tons of surveillance.

    These kids today are just lost when it comes to this man!The media has done a great job brainwashing them into thinking the Queen from Akron LeFRAUD James is on this man’s level!Winning the MVP,Scoring title,steals title,Defensive Player of the Year award,All star Mvp and dunk contest all in one year?🤣That feat will NEVER be repeated!If you remember games 6 of the 1998 NBA finals a game that is still to this day the highest watched NBA finals game of all time then you seen the last 3 plays Jordan made!First a quick layup to put the Bulls down one!Then he gambles and strips Karl Malone!Walks the ball up the court and hits the game winner!If that sequence didn’t represent what Jordan was all about then i don’t know what to tell you!

      The Pistons are one of the most underrated teams in the history of the league. It's no shame to lose to them (especially a one man show like the Bulls were at that time). It would have been a lot of fun to watch Jordan's 91 team play against a Pistons team that still had Rick Mahorn. Without him, their D wasn't the same.
