I've been DJ'ing for about a year now and Oliver Heldens is one of my all time favorite producers/DJs. Before watching this video, I never realized that I've been using his same techniques as Oliver ever since I started learning how to DJ. I guess it came to me subconsciously from watching him perform live and on his Heldeep Radio sessions.
Depends on what genre you play aswell, stuff like house, trance, and alot of techno and psytrance don't really work well with too much messing around. Stuff like drum and bass, breakbeat, hardcore or dubstep you can mess with alot more.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
It's amazing how you broke down his mixing style, I've been listening to OH for about 2 years now (he has a podcast/radio every week) and this video nails exactly how he mixes music on his podcast, live streams and live performances! Thank you for this!
5:17 Also great for Drum n Bass. I like to cut off the 2nd song's low eq and boost the hi and mid to 1 or 2 o'clock, then slowly (1-2 phrases max) increase low eq while boosting volume as well.
This was refreshing as it covered seamless, smooth mixing of House genre. I have been doing this already (outro/intro blend technique) and I find it very effective if you want to keep the mix clean. Thanks for breaking it down Carlo!
One of my favorites! Glad you have so much great content to help me prepare. Playing my first dj set for charity tomorrow on some CDJ-3000's! Thanks for the tips.
Thank you dj carlo! Now i know how to handle acapella in doing live mixing. And lastly dj carlo can i suggest next time if you have some time to breakdown fedde le grand's type of mixing? That's all dj carlo thank you!
Patience is an underappreciated skill on the 1s and 2s. So many DJs are so quick to show off that they blow off songs for the sake of "performing". Thank you for this, it's a reminder that you don't have to do backflips to be a pro.
I absolutely LOVE these videos!!! So much knowledge being dropped. Thank you. Would you do a a video of a breakbeat/mid-tempo/glitch-hop DJ's transitions? I'm thinking someone like JFB, or Featurecast, or A.Skillz?
Can you do a more advanced mixing techniques video? I still watch all your videos because I love them and I have learned from them. But I would like to challenge myself a bit more. I have the ddj-1000. Keep it up man !
Video of Armin van Buuren's dj techniques broken down would be great to see. I'm really curious how he approaches his transitions. Amazing content btw, thanks for helping dj beginners!
hey carlo i have a question i'm thinking about upgrading to a ddj-1000 butt as a loyal subrscriber of your channel i have seen the predictions video. i don't need a controller right now but i wanna be dj'ing as much as possible. so do you think i should wait for the next gen ddj- 1000 or just get current ddj-1000?
If you want to dj as much as possible, do you have an available geat with you already? Becuase if you do, practice with it! And wait for your desired gear! Otherwise, get a controller now.
Hi Carlo I just started mixing again after 4 years and it going quit well but I wanna buy a new controller and I’m currently using the dj software djuced what controller do you think is smart to get that’s not to expensive and I also can use for djuced 40?
This is what djing EDM was for 20 plus years. I still do it this way most of the time. All this only break downs non stop shit is boring to me. I actually like the music lol. I wanna hear the songs. I know that’s crazy in 2021 but I’ll be here still doing it when people come back around.
@@djcarlo Thanks to you i can now almost dj like a pro! i had my first party two days ago and everything was ok thanks to your lessons. So thanks a lot!

Same Bro
Well thats because they are pretty normal techniques 🤔
So much effort put into this, I appreciate how you copied his tricks exactly for the rekordbox overlay during the footage of him performing
Yay! Thanks for pointing that out! Glad you enjoyed the breakdown and the effects!
Agreed, one of the best DJ tutorials on the whole of UA-cam - keep up the good work

Noticed the exact same trying. Props!

i used this trick so many times, i learned how to dj from oliver's sets since 2015 , and it was awsome !
This was refreshing as it covered seamless, smooth mixing of House genre. I have been doing this already (outro/intro blend technique) and I find it very effective if you want to keep the mix clean.
