Dj carlo I would like that you analize the sets of virtual riot to make a video about tips to your audience because I think he its a super overrated dj.
I realized pretty quickly.that this is how.EDM djs.succeed... which just reinforced my belief that hip.hop.djs.are still king!!!... mix radio edits is way more impressive... i have tons of DJ edit mainstream music and it makes EDM style mixing easy for popular music... but its not impressive like quick urban mixing goes... but I tried it with EDM and I.quickly.learned how to sound like a DJ GOD... but it would only work with EDM crowds... basically Marshmello and the like learned how to capitalize on DJ respect while mixing the easiest possible tracks to mix... i appreciate what I learned from edm style mixing as a beginner... but they are not impressive... they are overpaid button pushers...unfortunately... the lights and big production really help them out from being exposed... with that said. I respect Marshmello for being able to be a regular dude...gain optional fame and wealth... and be highly respected yet still not recognizable in public...i would envy the dude if I had that emotion downloaded.
To i just want to say thanks man, I’ve been making money from my dj sets and your the person who started this off. I remember I used to watch you when I first started, very helpful to new djs. Even though I no longer watch your tutorials much. I still refer to you when my friends are talking about very talented djs :)
Great video as always! Reverb and space are some of my favorite effects! Not related to the video but I found out earlier today that the DDJ-RZX is almost five years old and that explained so much about its very old school pioneer controller look. Maybe sometime soon they'll upgrade it?
Another sick video! Could you do a DJ snake breakdown? His sets always seems so high energy and fast paced I wonder how much of it is pre-recorded! Would be an interesting video to highlight how much of DJs sets is pre recorded!

0:15 Thats the first mixing technique i used of course my songs key and bpm were exactly same there were two tracks "mahiya" and "take me there" both by Nucleya(a big name in Indian independent music industry) and that when i did it i felt yes i just djayed

The Zero to Hero one was designed for those really starting from scratch! So, in essence, yes, but with more in depth explanations. For the stuff specific to this video, not necessarily, but I do recommend the course if you're really just starting! :)
It’s not 4 beats, that was 4 bars, also known as measures. 4 beats is one bar in a 4/4 time signature. It’s cool to teach music, but let’s teach it properly because if you tell me to sing 4 beats and you mean 4 bars, that’s a huge difference.

That was standard up until fairly recent years, when the BPM were shown, people could beat match much quicker so started mixing quicker, even tho alot of the time people over do it sometime. It's good not to over do the quick mixing because it wares the crowd out and dosen't make musical sense

Along with a great PR campaign, these DJ's, get huge main stage shows. 1) How do you get people to recognize actual DJing talent? 2) We would love to see someone with your skill set, working the mixer, and blowing people minds on a main stage.

Can you do an in-depth look at effects, the expansion packs you get from serato, and what all of those different effects can be used for? I can’t decide where to spend my money and it’s hard to find the names of the different effects I hear people use if there’s no comprehensive guide/breakdown.

Why would you drop-mix? I mean doesn't the first song already have a drop that was meticulously built to fit that song? Or would you only do at the last drop as a way to transition the songs? Or just anywhere to make sure the audience doesn't get what they expect, unless they expect constant disappointment?
Somewhere between everything you said Leander. It could either be as a transition device, or just to surprise your audience. I wouldn't say constant disappointment, especially if the drop hits hard, because I've seen that a lot of club goers really appreciate something different.
Good god I hate EDM music. I would be genuinely stunned if any of these DJs could EQ mix two tracks fluently for more than a minute. EDM is so filter / effects heavy, bass drop repeat, ram it down your throat ADHD DJing. If any of these DJs were given two vinyl records, two turntables, a mixer, and the request to make those songs play together smoothly for two minutes, I'd be surprised if even half of them could pull it off. I don't mean to sound like a snob - I started on turntables and vinyl but am now fully digital - but I just hate this EDM DJ style. The music is shallow, the DJ isn't a musician as much as a performer, and the crowd only wants womping bass drops dumped in their faces every 30 seconds while they snap Instagram selfies. Fuck that scene. Give me 3AM in the dark at Fabric London with a killer sound system, a DJ hidden away in the booth, and the people there too busy dancing to give a shit about their cell phone cameras every god damn time.
From doing some research, some of these EDM guys did actually start out on vinyl; not a lot, just a few mind you. Would be interesting to see Fabric London at the witching hour!
Could you do a video like this on someone like Dixon or Solomun? The way they mix so fluently just baffles me. Also, solomun uses the djm 2000 which you don’t see a lot and looks very alien. Dixon uses a mixer that has no faders... for some reason... like what?!

You need to choose the best transition for the tracks you want to mix. Can't use every technique on any genre/sound.

I wouldn't do hotcue points always do memory cue point. you get a bar display the get it to perfect, you don't want to be a beat off..
I prefer memory cue points really, but hot cues aren't bad either when you're spinning live!
