Do what you want to do. If YT has become a job, and something you are not enjoying, you need to walk away for a bit and rediscover why you started your channel. If your intentions are to become a 10K sub channel, then become one of those channels. But if you just want to do what you started out as, and what your original subs subbed to your channel expecting to see, then keep it up.
Honestly, I think most YT channels become popular because of personality and not quality of content. If you have someone doing goofy things on screen with a hip looking studio (and probably a hot wife/gf) then people will like the channel and watch. The person could be burning a grilled cheese and people wouldn't care as long as they're funny, hip and doing stupid thing no sane adult would do in public.
I'm just having a beer and enjoying life. I suggest ya do the same. Less worries, better days.
