Please note that when installing Malibu Wide Plank LVP over concrete, an additional underlayment is required. Malibu Wide Plank recommends a 6mil poly underlayment which is a super thin underlayment.

He has a very soothing voice
Looks fantastic & certainly a great solution for those looking for an easy budget conscious DIY flooring project.
I absolutely love this!!!❤❤❤
As a floor veteran, I think you did pretty good 😁
Thank you somuch.
@@GoodlyEarth 😁 Please ask if you ever encounter a flooring question in the future!! God Bless 🙏🏼
Wow great idea thank you
You did good work.
You did a great job 👍
Amazing work!
The flooring looks amazing
I really like this it came out very well.
I noticed but it would be great to know about staggering the planks on each row
I have been installing for over 20 years. What would you like to know?
You take the piece you cut from the end of the last row and use it to start the next row .
@Mnoel79 One row at a time will take forever so cut a bunch of starters, rack the floor and use the ends for cut-offs.
Ya if your doing a big job that's quicker but a small job like this won't make much difference in time.
@Mnoel79 Absolutely true for a weekend project. Different for me since I do this for a living 😁
Why no underlayment?
LVP has an attached pad.
The flooring has it's own underlayment and padding attached. That is what makes it so easy to install.
water level of the floor??
Could this be installed over an existing tile floor?
I was wondering the same thing???? 🤔
Yes if grout lines arent to wide and if there is some sort padding
I don't think it's a good idea. Unless you install a layer of wool or something in between, to avoid noises when walking on top of it.
Yes absolutely. Not another floating floor though. You can go over tile too but you have to fill in the grout lines first with a propatch or embossing leveler first.
Colud this go over vinyl flooring?
Yes
It definitely can
As long as it's not curling up or missing pieces.
Not supposed to cut the edge that butts up against another plank. The edge you cut must always be against the wall. 1st rule of laying a floor, always take advantage of the machine edge as the pattern is also regular then too.
He flipped it to cut it then flipped it again so the cit edge was against the wall.
Moron. He had the piece turned around. First step of watching a video. Pay attention.
@jamiemcdonald4279 Sorry, but I don't saw that in the video, he never flipped the laminate, if u watch the video agai, pay attention in the 1st line he put down.
The person who right this comment is right
The edge that butts up to the plank wasn't cut. Go to the 1:00 minute mark, and it explains how you turn the plank around, cut, then turn it back again. Otherwise, it wouldn't snap together.
@@BlancaMunguiaPerez go to the 1:00 and 2:00 mark, you'll see where it is described as flipping the board around.
Does the floor need to be perfectly level for this?
No, not perfectly. You do want to make sure it isn't too undeveloped. If it has too many gaps you can apply floor leveler and let it dry
Not level, just flat within 1/8" he should have filled the cracks in the concrete otherwise that crack can eventually telegraph through the LVP and even cause it to crack or buckle.
It depends on the type of floor underneath (wood, concrete), the type of flooring ( vinyl, hardwood, engineered wood) & climate. Some flooring like vinyl is more forgiving but stuff can pop through, hardwood forgives a lot if you lay it in the opposite direction. Best to do a bit of research once you know what you'll be working with..
Shouldn’t he had started in the middle instead of the sidewall because rooms are never a true square size?
This type of flooring can't start in the middle. It must start at one side, usually the longest wall in the room, and then strim or cut as needed, if the room isn't perfectly square.
How could anyone call this a hardwood floor?
It's not exactly hardwood but this stuff is quite resilient! I have seen a sprinkler system malfunction and not do any damage to the floor. I am a 24 year floor veteran, these vinyl floors are tough 💪
I was thinking the same. I have this in my kitchen and love it but it is not hardwood floor.
You should've filled in the cracks in the concrete first.
You don't start flooring from a wall. You start in the center of the room and lay it to the walls.
I'm Trying to learn.... Why is it better to start This Way?
Thanks
If its plank you do start from the edge
@@terrypierce1661 I've never ran any plank or tile from an edge. Of course, I haven't built houses in 15 years so maybe that's the new way.
@@UrOnlyWarning I've always started in the center so it's more uniform around the edge. But terrypierce1661 does it a different way that I haven't used. He'll have to answer on why is better. Not saying he's wrong, but I'm an old man and Terry may have a way more recent way that does work better.
@@blackwaterprepper4254 its what we were taught with planks. With real wood i was taught to start in the center so any cuts ran the inside edges. Not as noticeable
Omg, now we have men doing that croakey girl voice. Sad.
