The key thing with 'show me' questions is to practice them whilst stationary, then when moving and when its safe. Never be in a rush to do them straightaway. Never going round a bend or brow of a hill.

Can't believe that pressure gauge is only £10! I assumed it would be super expensive. I'm going to buy one before I get a car as well as the tyre tread gauge. Thanks for the super useful video again buddy. It got me thinking about car maintenance in general (that is, stuff you should check often; coolant, brake fluid etc etc). The reason for the odd illumination with the main light switch is that there's no requirement to have an illuminated warning for dipped headlights (only for main beam), but for side-lights there is in the C&U regs. if the speedometer illumination can be turned off, though it's not a testable item for an MOT whereas the speedometer illumination is. On a sufficiently old car there may be no symbol for/on the rear fog light switch, the requirement used to only be that the switch itself illuminated or lit a warning lamp. I've no idea if marking the fog light switch (or any other switch) is actually required as part of modern type approval, you certainly wouldn't fail an MOT if the marking was absent, though you would for mandatory rear fog light(s) if the tell-tale light wasn't working.
In my experience quite a lot of qualified drivers would struggle to answer all of those questions correctly. How many actually read the handbook ? Powder and pre-drive checks help.
Cars are so good these days people get away with it mostly which causes laziness. If it was 50 years ago it would be essential to do this check to make sure you'd wouldn't brake down.
