Nigel I've been a professional nature tour boat captain for thirty years and there's a simple solution to the "moving boat" problem: lean way back and yell "Stop!" as loudly as you can. You aren't working for the boat captain, he's working for you! And no true professional captain will fail to accommodate their passengers as long as it's safe to do so. That said you made some stunning images even with the moving boat problem unresolved!

Beautiful video Nigel. If I were there, I'd absolutely be torn between shooting super wide (14-24mm), super long (300-400mm), or shooting overhead with a drone. So many options.

I still can't believe that so many still take the chance of not using a secure strap when holding a bulky camera and lens in this type environment.
A strap in no way hinders the ability to be spontaneous in picture taking 😢
Might be safer not using a strap if using a Z8😉

As you said (repeatedly - with justification) - AMAZING!!!
When sea kayaking in Greenland I always bring two camera bodies of the same time (to avoid confusion when switching fast between them). One has a tele lens and the other a wide- angle lens. It works very well.
