    First, the production of this video is absolutely excellent.
    Second, I cried my eyes out twice-at the waterfall spilling over the ice shelf, and at your encounter with the walrus. I had to stop the video each time and let myself sob … because such a trip is my oldest dream. As a child I wanted a polar or Arctic voyage. That dream has been with me the longest in my life. Now at 78 I am unable to travel. Thank you, Mads, for bringing it to me.

      So well said! Also cried over the walrus photo, it was something in his way of looking back to the humans. Maybe I’m just being sensitive because of all the things happening in nature right now, it makes me so sad. I also wish I had magic skills so that I could help you make that trip! Cried even more when I read your text 😅. We are lucky to at least have Mads making these beautiful videos, taking us along to experience this wonderful world we live in 🩵

    I have been to Spitsbergen,Iceland and Greenland on 3 occasions over the year's but only on cruise ships but on each of the occasions Spitsbergen was different especially the magdalena fjord which had less ice each visit, also sailed through ice that on one occasion stopped the ship docking because of possibly getting trapped ,also saw Walrus but your photography blows me away and makes me want to bin the ones l took with a small camera in auto mode. Learn a lot since then and use a old but better camera and no longer use auto mode, regret not changing year's ago Brilliant video outstanding pictures thank you

    When the valves go it’s usually the motor or most often the relay so I just change them. The relays are often under rated so I fit a higher rated one, and after that they don’t fail. I guess it’s manufacturers saving on pennies.

    Svalbard has a strict no-fly zone policy in place to protect bird life, marine mammals, and other wildlife. This is not the case in other countries, where drones can often be flown in areas where they can disturb the local wildlife.

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  Рік тому

      We've looked extensively into this and followed the rules. They do not have a strict no-fly policy in all of Svalbard. In fact looking at the official Norwegian drone page and map, you can see where you're allowed to fly and not. One example is Longyearbyen, but that is because it's close to the airport.

      Hi, as I don't use that system I don't really have an opinion on it. I generally recommend people to at least cover everything from 16-200mm after that up to 400mm and finally down to 12/14mm :)

    It's incredible how fast the glaciers are melting because of our huge carbon footprint

      It is not as desperate as some gloom+doom mongers would have you believe. What about the massive ice shelf in the video? The problem is with mankind, we think we are in charge of everything and we can control everything. We only see a small snapshot (pun intended) of time and extrapolate from that. But the Earth’s systems work on a massively long time scale and we are only ever between Ice Ages. But at the same time we must be very careful what we do with the natural environment and seriously cut down on pollution.
