First, the production of this video is absolutely excellent.
Second, I cried my eyes out twice-at the waterfall spilling over the ice shelf, and at your encounter with the walrus. I had to stop the video each time and let myself sob … because such a trip is my oldest dream. As a child I wanted a polar or Arctic voyage. That dream has been with me the longest in my life. Now at 78 I am unable to travel. Thank you, Mads, for bringing it to me.
So well said! Also cried over the walrus photo, it was something in his way of looking back to the humans. Maybe I’m just being sensitive because of all the things happening in nature right now, it makes me so sad. I also wish I had magic skills so that I could help you make that trip! Cried even more when I read your text 😅. We are lucky to at least have Mads making these beautiful videos, taking us along to experience this wonderful world we live in 🩵
Fabulous and thank you for showing this amazing video. You always produce the best. Music, editing, images, everything is so beautiful. Such a contrast from where I live in Singapore.
Love the walrus picture two curious minds staring at each other
Just wow! The walrus shot! Love your enthusiasm, your photos just make me smile :)
Looks awesome! just stunning.
great video amazing photograhy thank you for sharing blown away yet again
Amazing photos and video work, just love that landscape, so beautiful. 🤩
The walrus with the flock of birds flying over it - oh my!!!
Fantastic trip!
Excellent video and pictures !
I have been to Spitsbergen,Iceland and Greenland on 3 occasions over the year's but only on cruise ships but on each of the occasions Spitsbergen was different especially the magdalena fjord which had less ice each visit, also sailed through ice that on one occasion stopped the ship docking because of possibly getting trapped ,also saw Walrus but your photography blows me away and makes me want to bin the ones l took with a small camera in auto mode. Learn a lot since then and use a old but better camera and no longer use auto mode, regret not changing year's ago Brilliant video outstanding pictures thank you
Finally some ice ! 😁👏👌
Remember to ABC always bring camera. As you mentioned it is not gear but it is bring a camera and enjoy the scenery!
Was great to share the bird cliff experience with you in the zodiac. Amazing photography, thanks and cheers.
incredible!!
Danke!
That shot of the Walrus with the birds.. Is magic !!!
As much as I enjoyed the scenery it was your annihilation of the ship's food and beverage supplies that I'll remember and look forward to most next year... Great shots mate!
Hahaha! And I pay the price now 😂
Thanks a lot, buddy!
The walrus photo is amazing. Everything is lined up even the small iceberg in the foreground is lined up in the middle. That really hard as you sail by. Great job Mads!
So much cloud and mist yet no shortage of light! Amazing photos :)
Beautiful Mads! Great pics of the Silvia Earle too. Looking forward to being aboard her in the Antarctic with you guys next Feb!!!
When the valves go it’s usually the motor or most often the relay so I just change them. The relays are often under rated so I fit a higher rated one, and after that they don’t fail. I guess it’s manufacturers saving on pennies.
Loved watching this - so many great memories with good friends! And what a place.. You have made me want to edit my photos quicker now... I loved your iceberg shots and the walrus was amazing!!!!
Thank you so much, Nigel! It was great spending these past couple of weeks with you! There is literally no one who can light up like a Christmas tree like you when you know you get an amazing shot! 😁
Great Video! When have you been there? March, April, May,....? Best Regards, Oliver
Having watched Thomas Heaton's Svalbard series and knowing you were heading here Mads, I knew you would share some epic content from your trip and man did you start off your series with a bang. With the current extreme weather conditions across the globe, your video is such a timely reminder of the fragility of this beautiful and diverse planet we live on. Cannot wait to see next week's installment
Absolutely stunning images, Mads. Loved the walrus, he was definitely looking at you! The waterfall was splendid along with the epic scenery. Looking forward to seeing more. 🇦🇺
I hope I can be as brave as you and be less self-consious about vlogging near others :D
Sorry we couldn't talk more on the airport when you arrived. I have much to show you up here in Longyearbyen.
An amazing trip and spectacular photos.
Stunning pictures! I think my fav is walrus with birds, although the first pictures with the fog are beautiful too...mhmm...I can't really decide... Great drone shots! It's pleasure to see beauty of the world in your videos. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for another amazing video and that Walrus, wow what a handsome animal. Your photos captured the beauty of that area as they always do.
Amazing work Mad's love your excitement love your work. Only visited Iceland for the first time in May and was excited as you.
The fog + calm water, reminds me of that Valhala Rising scene
What amazing video. I watched it form start to finish and was captivated through out. The images are just breathtaking and very emotional. The effort and thought you put into your videos are truly amazing. Thank you for sharing your amazing adventure 👍
Inspiring as always. Your work is incredible
Absolutely loved this video Mads! I can’t wait for more content from this trip! Amazing photos 🎉
Svalbard has a strict no-fly zone policy in place to protect bird life, marine mammals, and other wildlife. This is not the case in other countries, where drones can often be flown in areas where they can disturb the local wildlife.
We've looked extensively into this and followed the rules. They do not have a strict no-fly policy in all of Svalbard. In fact looking at the official Norwegian drone page and map, you can see where you're allowed to fly and not. One example is Longyearbyen, but that is because it's close to the airport.
Your photos are better than Mr Popsystems. Nice to watch!
What an extraordinary opportunity to see these places. Great images, as usual Mads. I must say that my favorite part of the vlog, was the look your fellow zodiac passenger gave you while cruising around the ice shelf: priceless😂 😂😂
Hello Mads, I just KNEW that you would get the Tamron 50-400 😎 I now have it, too, and I love it. Together with the 16-35 PZ a really practical package!
Impresionante, no puedo decir otra cosa me ha emocionado mucho, enhorabuena 👍👍
is the big ice sheet floating on the sea or is it on land?
Mads, all the images were fantastic but, you’re drone shots were beyond this world beautiful!!!! Thank You!!!!!
Your work is absolutely captivating and beautiful. 👏 Holy smokes. You are so good at conveying breathtaking views. Thank you so much for sharing your experience through your mastery. Watch this on the biggest screen you can guys! It is incredibly good. 🤌💪👍
Fantastic! I think you were using single shot mode at the beginning; I wonder if you ramped that up to a high burst rate later.
Your enthusiasm is so enjoyable! Of course, so is your photo talent. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Awesome video have you ever teamed up with Morten Hilmer on svalbard .
Thanks a lot. Nope, I haven't.
13:30 Are we witnessing Mads turning into a wildlife photographer slowly? ;)
The way he looked into the camera. You‘re here to kill me? Well…. I‘m ready. 😔
Hi Mads Peter, I'm learning a lot from your youtube videos, thanks. I would like your opinion on which lens I should buy now for landscape photography. I have a FujiFilm X-T5 Mirrorless, an XF70-300mmF4-5.6 R LM OIS lens and a fujifilm 18mm f1.4. Thanks!
Hi, as I don't use that system I don't really have an opinion on it. I generally recommend people to at least cover everything from 16-200mm after that up to 400mm and finally down to 12/14mm :)
Mads this is fantastic! The shots captured are mind blowing 🤯…can’t wait for next year !!!!
Everything is insane. That place looks so peaceful and the shots are 😮. Waiting to hear you about the Tamron 50-400 which I own and use actively for landscapes with good light.
3X = 3 times. Mads det ved du da forhåbentlig godt fra matematikken. At der så er nogle amerikanere, der fatter hat, betyder ikke, at vi andre skal følge deres talefejl 😊
Your encounter with the walrus was so, so beautiful. Melted my heart. ❤❤❤❤❤ The drone shots were mind blowing. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks Mads for this series.
That guy in the background, at about 12 minutes: "Jeez, can't you just shut up for a while?" 🙂
I saw that! He's like, you're ruining the moment man!
He looking at you --- after all, you are in his world as a visitor.
Mads, you make minimalism look amazing. Always love your energy and passion in your adventures and photography. Can't wait to see your adventure and impressions of Anartica
Wow epic drone shots of this magical winter wonderland. Cool shots of the waterfalls and oh my gosh that film capture of the walrus is the icing on the cake, amazing🤩 Congratulations on this Mads, great work.
Absolutely exquisite images Mads, the Walrus with the birds was beautiful and the Walrus on his own was perfection. You are one lucky guy 👌
Outstanding video! Although I loved the scene images the walrus portraits incredible!
great video, wish to know ur feedback / comparison bet tamron 50-400 vs Sony 100-400
Next week ;)
wow, wow, wow, such beautiful images and such a wonderful video. Thank you. xxx
Wow. 👏Those drone images, just amazing. 🤩Incredible. Must be one of your best landscape images. 👍👍
Outstanding video & photography - and so much for minimalism vs. cluttered foregrounds 😏
Wow! What a stunning video. Just a magical landscape. That walrus image was in a special league....outstanding...thank you for sharing ❤
I think I've just seen the most epic photograph I've ever seen. That walrus, just staring at you, gave me chills. The drone shots were great and so were the low contrast bird images but nothing compares to that walrus shot. Absolutely AMAZING image!!!
I have wildlife photography envy of that face-on walrus shot. Just simply devine. Fabulous video and such beautiful scenery. Thank you!
Wow, wow, wow Mads! Incredible video, drone footage and photos, totally awe-inspiring. Like many others, I felt very emotional watching this - both from the spectacular beauty that you captured and the absolute purity of your images. A whole other level of awe-someness!
Welcome to wildlife photography. Might we see you on safari in Africa sometime soon? :-)))
What cruise company did you go with?
Was really interested in booking a trip like this found the company website and then see the price per person and come to the realisation that I'll probably never get to witness this scenery, such a shame, but glad to see it in your video, looks stunning.
Yes, I certainly enjoyed the video and photos. They bring back fond memories of my trip into the same area. The drone shots provided a special perspective of the area. Thanks.
Nice and cold... I saw Nigel made it to the new Litli Hrutur volcano in Iceland although he didn't post a video about it (yet). Did you also get there ? In that case we just might have missed each other... ua-cam.com/video/Ufzdinwc1PM/v-deo.html
Your minimal walrus is exquisite!
Another magnificent video you've made of a beautiful experience. Stunning landscapes/seascapes, but yes the walrus moment/capture is actually very moving. Well done Sir!
I'm wondering what is the black part from the ice, it surely is not dirty out there
Isn’t Svalbard Norwegian? 😅
Good to see you are using the Tamron 50/400. It’s an incredible lens.
11:54 dude's like, can you ... shush? 🤣
Wonderful and stunning images. The walrus wow.
The walrus photo was fantastic. I will see you there next August!
Absolutely stunning video and images Mads ..
Fabulous video and photography
hi Peter which month you travelled and which route.
Awesome photos and videos thanks for sharing ❤
Fantastic video , photos are amazing
Let me answer in minimalism: 😮
15.58 what is the black dot? Is that a human?
Great production and stills as always.
What a cracking video Mads, can feel your excitement and emotion, them Walrus images were great 🥰
What an amazing place... I'm just wondering were you on the same ship as Thomas Heaton? Or is it a coincidence? I loved the walrus shot with the birds and though its not gonna be better then this. And then you showed the second walrus shot... omg absolutely amazing! Did you notice the guy behind you when you were talking about the walrus from the zodiac? He looked not to happy with you.. looked like he was saying shot up man you are ruining the silence and then he tought wtf I don't want to be in you video 😅😅😅 great video mads! Looking forward to the next episode! Grt guido
Lol, I saw him and that's definitely not what he was thinking. He literally asked me (without knowing me) that I should take photos of him on the boat - good photo! 😂
And no, I went on another voyage than Heaton ;)
@@MadsPeterIversen whaha it was such a funny sight with the man behind you 🤣
Stunning place! Can’t wait to go in 2025
Hi! AMAZING video and incredible photos. Walrus image is stunning! Congratulations!!!
That looks like an awesome trip! The Ice/waterfall images are my favorites.
Mads... you have outdone yourself again!! THose images are just STUNNING!!! If I could I'd get the next flight and go there from Australia!! Maybe one day, but for now I can enjoy that beautiful location through your eyes...Your a MASTER of the craft. Cheers
Thank you so, so much!! 🙏
Mannnn, just incredible!
Thanks for taking me along
It's incredible how fast the glaciers are melting because of our huge carbon footprint
It is not as desperate as some gloom+doom mongers would have you believe. What about the massive ice shelf in the video? The problem is with mankind, we think we are in charge of everything and we can control everything. We only see a small snapshot (pun intended) of time and extrapolate from that. But the Earth’s systems work on a massively long time scale and we are only ever between Ice Ages. But at the same time we must be very careful what we do with the natural environment and seriously cut down on pollution.
Magical....as all your work.
Great Mads and the Noobs 😅🙌🌱
That Walrus though 🤩🤩🤩❤
Amazing video Mads ! The drone shots with the waterfall is out of this world ..... stunning !!!!!!!
I love the walrus picture with the birds a lot. Great work !!!!
