Ahmed, The Traverse and Terrain should be pretty similar. The only issue might be that this is a 2019 and you are working with a 2012. The module is the same in appearance. Black Plastic module bolted to the floor. You can look up Chevy Traverse airbag module location here: www.myairbags.com/srs-airbag-control-module-location-lookup/
So I have a 2013 terrain and if I replace the airbags and seatbelts with new one and send my module to be cleared do I also need to replace the impact sensor or is that not a one off?
If you take a look at the original impact sensors, if you don't see any physical damage, you should be able to use them.If damaged/cracked, replace. When any damage to the impact sensor mounting points or mounting hardware has occurred, repair or install new mounting points and mounting hardware as needed. Sharon, Buick Enclave is very similar to the GMC Terrain. If you need your module reset or seat belts rebuilt, we offer a service that costs a fraction of the cost of brand new parts. Reset/Rebuild service offered here: www.myairbags.com
Daniel, the 2009 model is different from this 2019 seen in the video. The overall procedure and location should be very similar however. You can look up airbag module locations for any vehicle here: www.myairbags.com/srs-airbag-control-module-location-lookup/
I have 2016 GMC Terrain and I am trying to get to module to send in for reset. My console does not look like this. It does not have the little round access holes on sides to remove screws. Neither does it have tabs at top to start disconnecting the sides. Do you have any suggestions for how to open up my console?
Tom Watson, It seems that the model used in the video is slightly newer. We don't have a 2016 in house to shoot the video but you should discover that the module is in the same general location. The SDM / DERM / Airbag module in the 2016 model will look just like the one in this video. Black plastic unit with yellow plugs bolted to the floor. When you find it on your 2016 model, any help or advice that you share would be very helpful for others with the same question!
@@MyAirbags For My model (2016) and I assume 2011-2016, you just remove the driver seat and then you will find a vertical seam in the side console skin panels. Reach your fingers under that seam at the bottom and pull out to pop the tabs out of the sockets. There are no screws in this area to break. Once you get one tab out it is easy to work your way along both panels popping out the tabs. There is one screw in the front panel next to the gas pedal, which you will have to remove only if you want to completely move that panel out of the way. I did not bother. I was able to get the module out by removing the two nuts at the rear base of the console and the 2 bolts up on the sides of the console structure above and slightly forward of the module. I then was able to get the three nuts off the module and, with a little bit of prying up on base of he console, work the module out. It is a pain because it is really tight under there. But it can be done with persistence.
Yes we can reset the airbag control module and rebuild your seat belts. Here is the link for more info www.myairbags.com/product/airbag-module-reset-3/
