i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Brett Carson Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I testdrove both the 520d and the 530d each for a weekend. The 530d is much better, fuel economy was not much different overall, 6.5L/100km vs 7.5L/100km city, land and Autobahn (200kmh+) but the 30d gives much better punch. 520d is certainly good enough, but the difference between 30d and 20d is rather large. Ordered the 530d Touring RWD in all black.
I drive the 530d sedan for a week and must say that this car is by far the best car I've ever driven. Also compared with the E class from Mercedes. Tolles Auto!
Great review Thomas. Thanks for doing your reviews in minimal details. Very nice ending playing with the car! Watching all of them on my 75¨Sony 4k TV in Full HD, Full screen and Full X. Greetings from Brazil!
Totally agree with you, Thomas. This car is really nice. The ride is so smooth and comfortable, yet there's almost no body roll. And it is very easy to drive despite its size. Love it!
Great quality video - very informative and professional ! I would've liked to see a demonstration of what those rails in the trunk does, looks intriguing. Thanks again 😊
Very interesting how they tied the steering wheel with the board through the plastic piece: 10:08. I like your reviews, best wishes for Autogefühl team!
Fantastic car, touring every time for me. Drovevghe 530d X Drive from UK to Spain through France and back earlier this year it was a joy. Such a step up from my 335d xdrive touring. Shame they don't offer the 540d or M550d in the UK.
To reduce flickering cameraman should adjust shutter speed and knee point. Also its good to lift up gamma mode like c -log gamma presets i eg Canon cameras to lift up the source roll for colour grading after edition. All in all Autogefuehl made one of the best car reviews in a YT. Keep up rolling Thomas !
I have driven 2016 530D in very high trim recently. Awesome car, but knee space for tall passenger in the rear is simply misunderstanding:) Great review Thomas. Thank you!
this car is really really awesome, sporty, sleek, something new, but rather confusing the way bmw label it's various model. this could be x2,4 or 6 series or E5 for estate. thanks for the clear and complete review. without your review I wouldn't know this 5 series estate exist hihi... tq bro.
The design flaw I would point is the side mirrows, they should be on the doors already, instead of the windows, it gives a much more premium and clean look. Its a bit of a shame an all new 5 series packed with techonology still has side mirrors on the windows. I personally prefer the previous generation overall, looks classier in my opinion.
Very good review, well done, long and complete, a pleasure watching it! As an advice and a BMW owner (I am at my forth), document yourself just a bit better because some options which you looked surprised by, were at previous models also. Like the hydraulic floor of the trunk for example. Keep up the good work!! Cheers
Thanks! I wasnt sure if the Hybrid is really that useful as the 50 km range is mostly there to bring down fleet consumption for the car manufacturers, or what u think?
Well if it can get you to work and then home on one charge or a charge at work to extend the range that's a lot of free travel. I do 18,000 miles a year; 6k could be on battery alone, 6k of motorway and another 6k of mixed motoring, so I would be good for me. I like the i3 rex but for me it's too early for a fully electric. The 5 looks amazing and would be great if it came as an estate with 4WD hybrid.
@@alanjenkinson7812 Those hybrids do not make sense. New X5 plug-in hybrid (~2,600 kg) weights MORE than a Tesla Model X with 100 kWh battery sufficient for almost 600 kilometers of range.
+Abhilash Reddy thanks so much really appreciate it unfortunately the manufacturers do not give out the base models I would be interested in the momentum trim as well
Heya, thanks for the great review, I am considering exactly this setup, just different color, I am excited about it even more now! Greetings from CZ and subbed ofc :) :)
Fantastic car, best estate I’ve ever driven. However, if practically is your thing the Superb is a better option in my opinion. Much bigger boot and much more leg space in the back. Not just a bit more but much more.
Good review Thomas, but I was wondering why you drove it in sport mode all the time? Since you mentioned consumption, and ride Comfort, it would be interesting to see when i Comfort mode, not Sport mode all the review trough.
Thomas What is better to carry three people on the back: e class s213 or g31 series? And generally what would you choose s213 with amg line or g31 with m sport package? I think about 520d xdrive or 220d 4matic
i can never understand why estates cannot have rear seats that can slide back, so that you can take adavantage of the long boot space / long wheelbase when you are not carrying luggage.
First of all, amazing reviews thank you. I have a quick question please. About the cabin noises and the comfort ride. . I used to own a 2012 520d m sport with 18" run flats and in the last 4 years I have a 2014 320d m sport with 19" run flats. Both cars were/is really noisy. Now I'm planning on buying a 2017-18-19 5 series touring again(mainly because much cheaper in the UK compare to X5 or X3. Otherwise I'd like the hight) would you say cabin insolation and the ride is better with the 2018 5 series d touring & upwards? And how it is comparing to 3 series d touring. I mean my present car(320d m sport) is just terrible especially with the 19" run flats. It's so noisy sometimes and hoppy ride I just feel like saying I don't give a sh*t how good it looks. 😊 ... Thank you in advance.
Did you hammer it before the review?! it was 17L/100km before the reset :P Great review as allways , as a car guy i don`t like Touring`s but this one is really cool :D
Nice Review, seen the lane change working which is good as was told not available to builds until after October 2017, pity Integral steering not available when adding Adaptive drive, or is it apart of adaptive drive ?
yeah that seems to be updated now! About the 2nd question, that's what the German price list says, seems to be one package:
Adaptives M Fahrwerk Professional Umfänge Adaptives M Fahrwerk und zusätzlich: - Dynamic Drive, aktive Stabilisatoren an der Vorder- und Hinterachse reduzieren die Seitenneigung - Integral-Aktivlenkung, Anpassung des Lenkwinkels von Vorder- und Hinterrädern
Sweet, as my car is on its and I went for Adaptive drive and all the options ( 530D m Sport xdrive ) was hoping integral steering would be a hidden feature in Adaptive drive options as the UK site didn't mention it just cancelled integral steering of the options list
I really like the BMW Infotainment. It is complicated system, but when you learn it you would love to use it. In Mercedes I had nothing to do after 10 minutes. Was little bit boring when I am making 1000 km... I have also seen that you have wrong position of the headrest (Kopfstütze) almost every test, take it higher if you want to be safe during your ride ;) At the rear impact you would have a problem, because your head is not resting on it. Headrest should be as close as possible to your head. mfg
Hello Thomas, I drive a MB 220CDI T which I will replace soon and you (almost!) convinced me to go for this BMW 530d Touring. Brilliant! I do have a question: I am an “oldtimer” and I still like to drive with gloves on. Does the touch screen work with gloves? I ask this because the iphone does not but a small Tomtom Rider I use in my motorbikes does. Thank you! Cheers, João
Excellent review. I am looking specifically at the 2017 530d to replace my 2012 528i Touring. A comment to your review: the four wheel air suspension will be a must for me since BMW has gotten the ride dynamics for this feature nearly perfect. I also think the rear wheel steering is and absolute must. Still not considering X-drive as important and your thoughts will help me to avoid this additional cost. Thanks
Thanks Thomas, excellent review! Beautiful car, but most of all a PERFECT color. If I was in the market for a 5 series, at least I would not have any doubts about which color to choose! So beautiful, especially in combination with the light interior. Personally, I would prefer the sedan in terms of looks though. But it's a dream car for sure. With a price to match, unfortunately :-)
Hello, thank you for taking the time and doing such awesome review. I bought this car with the exact same config as the one you describe. I 'm a little bit concerned about the active steering since I think I might not adapt to the "sensitivity" of the wheel or at the very end not like. One way or another, I'm receiving it next week. The only difference between this config and mine is that this one has the chrome thing around the windows and mine has the shadow line or something which basically is the same thing but in black. If I may ask, in your video you said that you would provide more details regarding the fuel consumption "in the comments bellow". Unfortunately, I was not able to find it. Can you please share those details? Thank you again for your review.
Great video, helped me decide to buy a 5 series touring a couple of months ago, but can I please ask my German friends....... What the heck is “Full X”?
Hey Thomas, was ist mit der Alpina passiert? Sie verlieren einen Sponsor oder was? How I do LOVE this vehicle, definitely worth more than a 'quick look' haul ass while hauling groceries! Excellent - as expected - review my friend
Nice review as allways 😊 The Mercedes E class estate also got air suspension on the rear axel. You have to buy full air magic to have air on the front axel. In Denmark anyway. It might be different I otherwise country's 😊 Will you prefer this car over the E-class?
Thanks! Yes indeed, we have driven the E-Class with full air suspension, but standard equipment is indeed rear only, whereas the Touring does offer a full air suspension upgrade. Compare our E-Class reviews here: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=autogefuehl+eclass
Not sure if you get to fill up the tank after a review? But If you, it would be nice if you could calculate the REAL consumption, and compare it to what the car reports for the distance you traveled during the review.
Thank you for taking interest in this very important topic! At Autogefühl, we have already received several thousands (!) comments, messages and mails that more and more people want to combine enjoying their car with reducing the environmental impact at the same time. We strongly believe that sustainable luxury is possible or at least we should do everything to support that. Those many thousand people confirming this trend, motivate us to give you the most authentic information and background on the product parts. It is not about what you bought in the past, but what you decide in the future and what you decide and influence as a customer. So we want you to have all information that you need for a decision you later enjoy and like best yourself. Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production: ua-cam.com/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/v-deo.html List of practical reasons against animal skin seats: 1. animal skin seats are often an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it) 2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat 3. they are cold in winter 4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling 5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like granny’s old sofa 6. if you want leather look (because visually it sure can look very nice!) or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review ua-cam.com/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/v-deo.html) So Tesla shows that the discussion, whether you need animal skin is basically done. 7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather) To the environmental reasons: 1. The way the cows are held are catastrophic (see videos below) 2. The factory farming industry can be accounted for 50 % of climate emissions and thus is the number one reason for climate change and environmental destruction. It is the number one reason for deforestation, two thirds of all agricultural land on earth is used for animal food crops. If you would feed humans directly by using the land, you could produce much more food for everyone. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf 3. So it is not only cows that are suffering, but also the environment and to a big part also humans. Think of slavery-like working conditions in slaughterhouses (there are plenty of documentaries about this) or think of chemically altered drinking water in animal skin production villages as also seen in the video footage. 4. The discussion, for which body part the cow is killed first, is very patronizing. But if you really think it would be important why someone gets killed: There are many productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even while still being (part-)alive, the skin is the most profitable single part of the body. 5. So even if a cow gets theoretically killed for meat first, you give additional money to an industry that relies on killing, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals. Let's say you are standing at the meat counter. And you ask for the leg of the cow. The butcher tells you: "You can eat that without worrying, the cow was slaughtered for the neck first". The next customer demands the neck. The butcher tells him: "It's not your fault, the cow was slaughtered for the belly". A the next customer demands the hide, what answer does he get? You see, that argument of "byproduct" comes from the meat and leather industry to cover up that you contribute to killing no matter which part of the body you buy. 6. To the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information. A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/ More special video episodes: 1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/v-deo.html 2. And another one right here: ua-cam.com/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/v-deo.html 3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: ua-cam.com/video/JipYvuDsI6s/v-deo.html timecode starting 27:46 4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: ua-cam.com/video/OgHs239bAnE/v-deo.html 5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway. Manufacturers reactions: We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL. If it all would be clean and happening without harm, why don’t they show it to us whereas they are showing us every other detail of their products? They have good reason not to, because there is no such thing as a clean animal skin production without harming cows, humans and the environment. The only thing a manufacturer can do is increase their effort for a better future, and we are helping with in-depth talks and interviews by presenting the increasing customer demand for sustainable luxury. So meanwhile, we more often also get feedback that a lot of manufacturers are working on leather-free interiors and are aware of the situation. However, much has to be done still and the Autogefuehl community is massively helping in boosting the positive change! Help to raise awareness on this subject. Thanks!
Strange thing: You can pick a Sensatec (leatherette) dashboard which looks great but it is then combined with the animal skin seat option - not sure what they thought there
Autogefühl In previous car we had leather, one month ago we bought new Peugeot 508 SW BlueHDI 180 Allure with mix of fabric and I thought artifical matirial, but now I read somewhere that is real leather. Do you maybe have an information weather this is real or artifical leather, considering you drive so many cars. Thanks for your answer. Bye.
Autogefühl of course it has an M sport badge but i mean a full on tuned M5 touring that might have 640 bhp lol. that would be unique. puts it in its own bracket. Thank for another great video btw👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
thanks Thomas (always good to know the price of the model tested "as is" though, gives us a good idea whether the brand is trying to fool us, presenting a super expensive car optionwise, but bragging about a way lower entry price) keep up the great work !
I can understand they don't want the customer to think "too bad they don't have this option"... But for the german premium brands where mostly everything is optional and not cheap (helloooo Porsche), knowing the final price (compared to the website price) is always helpful... One can always hope one can negotiate the price with the dealer :)

I really wished the U.S. got the "wagon" model of this car! The 3 liter diesel is perfect for such a car!
Finally no display with red font. Good job BMW! I always liked white on black more.

Autogefühl Thx for answer. I hope it will be p100d with ludicrous mode :) can't wait to watch it :)
nice video T
+Amg lover 👍
Great review!
One detail I wonder about though, is the metal rails on the floor in the back with 2 locks on each rail.
What are they used for?
+zemekiel you can install some loading room splitters there
Hi Thomas. Thanks for this brilliant review. Is there a 550i Touring?
+Mathurin Kerbouchard thx! Not that I know of
Would you personally prefer a 5er Touring over the new E-class Estate? I've heard the interior quality, while less posh, is better on the BMW.

Hello Thomas,
I drive a MB 220CDI T which I will replace soon and you (almost!) convinced me to go for this BMW 530d Touring. Brilliant! I do have a question: I am an “oldtimer” and I still like to drive with gloves on. Does the touch screen work with gloves? I ask this because the iphone does not but a small Tomtom Rider I use in my motorbikes does.
Thank you!
Cheers,
João
Hey, indeed most touchscreens do not work with gloves.
Remember to try to avoid animal skin seats!
Greetz
Excellent review. I am looking specifically at the 2017 530d to replace my 2012 528i Touring. A comment to your review: the four wheel air suspension will be a must for me since BMW has gotten the ride dynamics for this feature nearly perfect. I also think the rear wheel steering is and absolute must. Still not considering X-drive as important and your thoughts will help me to avoid this additional cost. Thanks
thanks! Air suspension just on the rear, though
Thanks again for the heads up
Nice review, but why not spend a few words on the most expensive option on this car, theB&W sound system?
sounds sytem is better in the eclass
That ending was totally hilarious ;-)
=))
Thomas, please do a review on the BMW 6 Series GT
hey m8, here it is: ua-cam.com/video/T5JNwBbbPZc/v-deo.html
Thanks Thomas, excellent review!
Beautiful car, but most of all a PERFECT color. If I was in the market for a 5 series, at least I would not have any doubts about which color to choose! So beautiful, especially in combination with the light interior.
Personally, I would prefer the sedan in terms of looks though. But it's a dream car for sure. With a price to match, unfortunately :-)
thanks pal !
Sure, we scored 6 l / 100 km - pretty good result!
Why was the AC at 16° ?
So that 5er did have the AC-Bug like many others?
I sometimes go to lowest temperature but no a/c
Hey Autogefühl may i know Mercedes E class Estate or BMW 5 series Touring which one is the best?
+Ultimusss LoL youtube search autogefuehl mercedes eclass and u ll find the review
Great video, helped me decide to buy a 5 series touring a couple of months ago, but can I please ask my German friends.......
What the heck is “Full X”?
full HD full screen full length :)
Tomas will BMW be bring in a hybrid touring in the 5 series? like the vw passat GTE?
not planned so far
Thank you!
Ich LIEBE es schon ! Wird es als aufladung-hybrid kommen ?
Ja, auch mit induktiver Ladeplatte auf Wunsch: ua-cam.com/video/soE4a0qlC8E/v-deo.html
Super toll !
Can i ask you please, will later come more powerful version of the diesel, like 535d ? thanks :)
All information in the review!
Hey Thomas, was ist mit der Alpina passiert? Sie verlieren einen Sponsor oder was? How I do LOVE this vehicle, definitely worth more than a 'quick look' haul ass while hauling groceries! Excellent - as expected - review my friend
+willie s johnson ne alles gut, trage nur net in jedem video ne uhr :)

Nice review as allways 😊 The Mercedes E class estate also got air suspension on the rear axel. You have to buy full air magic to have air on the front axel. In Denmark anyway. It might be different I otherwise country's 😊
Will you prefer this car over the E-class?
6 l / 100 km was the test result, pretty good
Is there a full leather option, so you can get leather on dash also, instead of that plastic?
Thank you for taking interest in this very important topic!
At Autogefühl, we have already received several thousands (!) comments, messages and mails that more and more people want to combine enjoying their car with reducing the environmental impact at the same time. We strongly believe that sustainable luxury is possible or at least we should do everything to support that. Those many thousand people confirming this trend, motivate us to give you the most authentic information and background on the product parts. It is not about what you bought in the past, but what you decide in the future and what you decide and influence as a customer. So we want you to have all information that you need for a decision you later enjoy and like best yourself.
Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production:
ua-cam.com/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/v-deo.html
List of practical reasons against animal skin seats:
1. animal skin seats are often an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it)
2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat
3. they are cold in winter
4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling
5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like granny’s old sofa
6. if you want leather look (because visually it sure can look very nice!) or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review ua-cam.com/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/v-deo.html) So Tesla shows that the discussion, whether you need animal skin is basically done.
7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather)
To the environmental reasons:
1. The way the cows are held are catastrophic (see videos below)
2. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf
A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/
More special video episodes:
1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/v-deo.html
2. And another one right here: ua-cam.com/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/v-deo.html
3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: ua-cam.com/video/JipYvuDsI6s/v-deo.html
timecode starting 27:46
4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: ua-cam.com/video/OgHs239bAnE/v-deo.html
5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway.
Manufacturers reactions:
We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL.
Bye.
great video! Wil the m550d also be available as a sedan?
Thanks! No.
a cool idea would be an m5 touring. not very practical or utilitarian. but itd be a good concept for people who want to stand out a bit.
did u check the engine part ? ;)
Autogefühl of course it has an M sport badge but i mean a full on tuned M5 touring that might have 640 bhp lol. that would be unique. puts it in its own bracket. Thank for another great video btw👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
great car,great review,
thanks, recommend us!
Inside of door bins are high plastic which is a bit disappointing. F10 had better materials there.
Hello Thomas und Michel,
did I miss the part where you talk about prices ?
not sure if I mentioned because I talked about it in the two other G30 reviews, easiest way to check your market's brand website
thanks Thomas
(always good to know the price of the model tested "as is" though, gives us a good idea whether the brand is trying to fool us, presenting a super expensive car optionwise, but bragging about a way lower entry price)
keep up the great work !
+sensingowls unfortunately the manufacturer always specs very high :/
I can understand they don't want the customer to think "too bad they don't have this option"...
But for the german premium brands where mostly everything is optional and not cheap (helloooo Porsche), knowing the final price (compared to the website price) is always helpful... One can always hope one can negotiate the price with the dealer :)
I bet the E-class is terrified
Zlimeghost no it's not terrified, e class is more elegant but this one is more sporty
