Got mine a few weeks ago for games that are either now requiring SSD or run much better on an SSd. Skyrim with the nolvus mod pack, Arma 3 with a million mods, etc. It runs excellent, couldn't be happier.
I'm using it on an X570 board with a 3900X, ARC A580, 32GB DDR4-3200 (C16), a 650w 80+B SM-PSU, and a Core V1 ITX Case. It works great for gaming. I can save over 100 Steam & Epic titles on it simultaneously.
I just picked up this drive for cheap. (Grabbed the last one actually) Using this for my large Steam game library should service. Hopefully storage drives don't get outrageous in pricing. If they do, I'm very satisfied with what I paid for this Crucial P3 Plus 4TB. Thanks for the video APH!
I'd like to see how good it is when almost full as it seems like qlc, there is no DRAM buffer I think either. I have a NUC that I'd like to make a NAS for file sharing and 4k MKV file streaming over network.
@@DickVanPaiton Bought it. See your comment now. I have been using it for 1-2 months now and it works just fine. I understand it's not the fastest SSD, but I didn't buy it for the speed but for the capacity for a fine price. Also, it's gonna take me a long time before I have used 70-80 %. Currently at 33 % and that is with everything I have. It's gonna take a while before I get there. So we will see. :)
i got this on black friday for 120 bucks. i have a high end build with 4090 and just want to use this driver for my smaller games and some aaa titles as a secondary ssd drive. is this good enough for gaming? @@zirak93-2
is it good for a long term? to use with important data.. they are cheaper than wd black, samsung pro, but this speed is good enough for me. i only worry with reliable
I don't know what to think yet. My win 10 pro OS is on a 4-year-old Crucial P1 1TB m.2. It's on an asus HERO 11 with a 9900k cpu my game drive is a WD-black 4TB spinner. I'm looking at the P3 1TB as the C drive and the P3 4TB as my game drive, both mounted in the MB. These are both huge improvements over what I have, and I just got a Gigabyte Aorus Elite RTX 4070 Ti in preparation for the Starfield release on September 6. i would love something closer to 7000 r/w but can't justify the expense right now. I feel better just writing this down after spending 10 and 12 hour days going to every available website looking for deal. during Prime day.
This drive is a disaster. After one year of usage I see that average transfer speed (between 2 the same drives) is slower than normal HDD drive. Each time I try to transfer >10GB of data the average speed is 70-120 MB/s.
Sorry, but this is a bad review. If the drive is 60 or 80% full it gets suuuuper slow. It is almost unusable and even slower than a standard HDD!? How can this be a recommendable product?
It's true. I bought It and when I copy some video files, the first copy real fast and then goes down to 60mbps! Any small HDD would give me at least 120mbps
@@excitationofstereocilia2103 I am no reviewer pal! How about being thankful for what you got? I do not need to give you better advice just because I bought this one and it was shit -> NOT usable and told you so. How about saying THX for that in the first place? In the meanwhile I got a Lexar NM790 which works fantastic.
yea I guess we always should be backing up to OneDrive or some other cloud backup, but otherwise, I'd like to know more about overall performance of it compared to other drives.
Thats what Im wondering! I wanted to buy this to expand my gaming laptops storage, but it seemes like its only good for like actual storage, pics, vids, ect. which kinda sucks
@@devjitdutta5670 maybe, the guy said its to do with the way the cache is filled since the nand is qlc(slow) not tlc(fast) so when the cache is filled it drops to useless speeds. I was using it as a backup (a lot of data written in a short period of time) drive which is probably why i noticed the issues.

It's a great NVME for the price.. Two 1 T/B paired in windows soft raid gave me near 10k m/b sec performance
good!..which motherboard do you have?
we use the P3 Plus in most of our customer PCs we build, solid choice, we didn't had a single bad drive or complaint since.

So Would this be a bad choice if I was going to use it mainly for gaming??

It is super bad when it is almost full! Got down to 20MB/s in writing speed when it was 80% full.
This "review" is a joke!
Lol, only 438GB per day for 5 years, It'd probably take me 5 years to fill it once!!
That’s spread over 4TB. A 1TB has a higher likelihood of being written over more often.
The sheer scale of inflation over the last 9 years is disgusting
Great review 👍
I will most probably buy this SSD. Thanks!
You should not do that. It is slower than a mechanical hdd (in term of write speed) when it is 70-80% full. Which is pretty normal, right

800TBW is low for a 4tb drive
My drive is 600mbs top speed, I may have a dud or some kinda error in my drive

Yep
As soon as i filled 1tb it became unusable. Avoid wasting your money
Your SSD was defective....using my 2TB for the last year with absolute zero problems and still have 750GB free space

You can go with a cheaper brand with gen 4, 4tb for sub $180
This is an awful review. The first half of the video is talking about something in the past, the second part only refers to previous tests. Useless.
This SSD is trash. I wonder how low producers can go with TBW
