Elspeth Beard and the story of her solo adventure around the world.

When she was 23, Elspeth left her family and friends in London to start a solo adventure around the world on her motorcycle. She was determined to learn more about herself and about the world. She saw the landscapes of beautiful countries, as well as the pain of countries ravaged by war. Elspeth accomplished something remarkable. Here the story in her own words.

I am reading her book now and just blown away at what she accomplished back in the 80's. This would be hard thing to do now with internet and GPS. She is so inspiring and I hope more women find out about her. I ride a KLR 650 and totally get the looks and comments that she has had.
