Just a word of caution to everyone... I replaced all 4 actuators on my 2003 Lexus RX300 doors. Upon completion, my key would start the car as normal but the remote features (lock, unlock, panic) would not work at all. I even tried the reprogramming steps with the hit the lock/unlock 5 times, insert the key, yadda yadda yadda ... that didn't help. So, what I found out was that the alarm system was out of sync. I found these instructions to get your remote features back up and running... It worked perfect.... follow these steps if your remote stops working after changing out the actuators ... I tried everything several times from adding, deleting, re-programing my remote but nothing worked until I tried the following: 1) Lock your doors with the key on the driver's side door, then wait until the red security light goes from constant on to blinking (about one minute) this sets the alarm... 2) Go to the passengers door and unlock it with the key and open the door, this will set off the alarm then close the door and go around to the driver's door... 3) Unlock it with the key then open it, while it's open use your remote's unlock button and that should stop the alarm and activate your remote... Good luck

Thank you so much. This video was PERFECT! Good lighting, clean surface that you were working on, clear view of all the steps and not a bunch of noise or loud music or rambling on about what you were going to do. People posting video tutorials should take some lessons from you. Thanks again.
You’re a life saver, thank you so much for the perfect video. From the lighting to actually getting up visually with all the parts! Perfect video, and seriously made my day by not having to pay someone to do this!
I got a quote of $1100 to replace one actuator. I bought a complete set on Amazon for $54 and change the bad one in an hour using this video. One note, I did not disconnect the cables from the door handle, as the entire handle can come out with the piece attached. Also putting the piece back in is a little tricky with the window track. I pulled it down slightly so I could move it out of the way. Reconnecting to the handle, I went back and watched the disconnect. The closest arm is easier to reattach if you pull slightly on the door handle lowering the attachment point. You then just put the piece through the hole and lower the plastic attachment. I put the rest in the trunk area for storage until the others eventually fail too. Thanks for the video.
This is the best video on You Tube on how to replace these. Just a word of caution: There are many DIY instructions on taking part the actuator and just replacing the motor. You have to cut open the box, press out the gear on the existing motor shaft and put it on new motor then glue the thing back together. Many people have problems with this including the doors unlocking when you hit the lock button. OR a few doors unlocking and one or two locking out of sync. It has to do with a reversed polarity on the motor. Also regarding replacing the actuator unit with a knock off: There are so many thousands of these units out there and many either don't work or work for about three months. There are actually so many that a tech has a highly technical breakdown site reviewing "what to look for in a Chinese knock off actuator." If you get the wrong one, you're hosed. Some don't work with your key fob at all. So I have three doors not working and did all the research on OEM. So dumb how Lexus/Toyota rips us off for a part that they designed DEFECTIVE. My solution was a guy on eBay who rebuilds OEM units with all new parts. All cables installed and ready to swap in. About $100 to $120 per door. Yes, that's expensive but not like OEM costs and this has warrantee. I'm not a shill for this guy so that's why Im not linking to his product - but this is the route I'm going.

I almost made a video but I figured I’d just put it in the comments. TIME SAVER: you don’t have to remove / disconnect the interior door handle cables or take out the entire lock assembly. You can easily bring it out to the side of the door and work on it while it’s still attached to the cables - saves you about 15 minutes of work. Also the bar where the window slides up and down goes IN FRONT of the door lock assembly - nothing can be the way of the window track. Lastly - your bottom door courtesy light will not work until you plug in the lock / window control switch. If you want, you can pull the courtesy light from the bottom while the door is still attached - makes unhooking / hooking the harness a lot easier.
Great video. You didn't show how hard those two clips back in there can be hard to reinstall. But I've done it before I'll remember. Passenger side this time.
Reinstalling those two arms at 3:16 is the tricky part of this fix. This video helped me figure that out.
